The list of animals injured and killed is never going to stop when entertainers endorse and audiences pay to watch this horror show. Another year has come and gone. More animals lost their lives in this blood sport that takes place every year. Another horse broke its leg in the extremely dangerous CHUCKWAGON RACE in the most recent stampede. The animals injured are not “euthanatized”. They’re shot dead. Euthanasia is just a nice way of saying killed because they’re disposable commodities. Their lives are meaningless and another bullet awaits the next innocent victim who is injured. These animals did not sign up willingly. They’ whipped excessively and forced into an extremely dangerous situation. As for “CALF ROPING” !!! How anyone in their right mind can find this entertaining is lacking something in their brain. The list of animals injured and killed that are “USED” to perfect “cowboy rodeo skills” is unaccounted for and unacceptable. Entertainment should never have a victim and I’m done with celebrities supporting animal cruelty and abuse. Seaworld lost a ton of celebrity endorsers after Blackfish. The Calgary Stampede is horrific and what we see is only a small portion of the cruelty. Thank you to everyone who signed the petition. Shame on @calgarystampede and Warren Connell the CEO of the Calgary Stampede for supporting animal cruelty as bad as bullfighting.

The “sport” is common in the country, and Pretoria is no exception. A special investigator at the SPCA, Nadia Hansa, said dog fighting had always existed, and gamblers bet large amounts on the outcome. However, Hansa said that the last decade had seen an huge increase. “There are numerous syndicates that make this appalling act a lucrative business,” she said. Last week, six people were arrested in connection with dog fighting in Atteridgeville. “Two dogs were writhing on the grass in a bloody battle while the spectators laughed and shouted at them. At this moment the national #SPCA inspectors and #SAPS members stormed in,” said Hansa. At least 14 dogs were rescued after the arrests. Those who were arrested were charged with animal cruelty and dog fighting. According to Hansa, any breed was vulnerable, but pit bulls and bull terriers were the most targeted. “Other breeds are used as bait before the actual fight,” she said. Typically, dog fights aren’t held where the dogs are bred and trained. The dog-fighting arenas are prepared by syndicate members. They are typically in a warehouse, barn or other large structure in a remote location large enough to hold an audience and the fighting pit. A bait dog is then thrown into the pit, then followed by the fighting dogs, which are normally on a leash. And in no time blood is spilt. In some cases, the fight doesn’t stop until one of the dogs dies. Hansa said the best way to make sure your dog is not stolen to be used in the blood sport is to always keep it in secure premises, behind high walls. Another way is to microchip the dog so it is easier to track if stolen. Lastly, make sure that the dog has been sterilized. “This will discourage dog snatchers, because it can’t breed any more,” she said.

Social anxiety is the fear of being judged and evaluated negatively by other people, leading to feelings of inadequacy, inferiority, self-consciousness, embarrassment, humiliation, and depression. If a person usually becomes (irrationally) anxious in social situations, but seems better when they are alone, then "social anxiety" may be the problem. The physiological manifestations that accompany social anxiety may include intense fear, racing heart, turning red or blushing, excessive sweating, dry throat and mouth, trembling (fear of picking up a glass of water or using utensils to eat), swallowing with difficulty, and muscle twitches, particularly around the face and neck. Constant, intense anxiety that does not go away is the most common feature. People with social anxiety disorder know that their anxiety is irrational and does not make rational (i.e., cognitive) sense.  Nevertheless, "knowing" something is not the same thing as "believing" and "feeling" something. Thus, for people with social anxiety, thoughts and feelings of anxiety persist and show no signs of going away -- despite the fact that socially-anxious people "face their fears" every day of their lives. Social anxiety disorder, the largest anxiety disorder, and the one that few people know anything about.
