I am Cupid, but no arrow flies for me,

I pull the strings, but never feel the tug—

I weave the threads of love so free,

And watch the world fall while I stay stuck.

They fall in love with others' eyes,

With hearts that burn, with soft goodbyes,

I watch them catch the spark and soar,

While I stand empty, forever more.

I’m the one who makes them see,

How sweet the ache of wanting can be.

I shoot my arrows with gentle grace,

But they never pierce my empty space.

I push them toward each other's arms,

While I remain untouched by charms,

Their hearts collide, their souls entwine,

And I am left, alone, behind.

I am Cupid, but no love is mine,

I make them fall, but never in line—

My arrows bend, but never land,

On a heart that lies alone, unmanned.

I stir their hearts, I set the flame,

But I remain outside the game.

I guide them toward what they deserve,
