New plan for Halloween: you dress as Waldo, I’ll dress as Carmen San Diego. We can just hide in a closet drinking till someone finds us.

Mary: I think you use sarcasm and anger as a way to keep people from getting too close to you.
Sirius: You know, I do. But it doesn’t always work.

Talk, funny is good but don’t be glib. And remember, if you hurt her I will beat you to death with a shovel. A vague disclaimer is nobody’s friend. Have fun!

what are gryffindor women like?
Gryffindor women are clever. They take to things quickly and are impressive in their knowledge. They are eager to and jump at the chance to share what they know with the world. They’re called brilliant and glow with pride.
Gryffindor women are romantic. They reminiscent on days of running wild, climbing trees, and daydreaming about an all-encompassing love when they were older. They flirt and dance their way through life, giggling together behind their hands. They’re called silly and brush it off.
Gryffindor women are fearless. They rush head first into life, never settling for just good. They want great and they know they deserve it. They refuse to compromise themselves, whether it be friend or foe who is asking. They’re called bossy so they own it.
Gryffindor women are fearful. They know the world is set on breaking them, on destroying. They hold their loved ones tightly, determined to be the rock that will keep them safe. They wrap their fears around them like a cloak until the world sees them as someone to fear instead of someone who is afraid. They’re called strong but never believe it.
Gryffindor women are fire. They burn brightly and are all-consuming. Sometimes they consume themselves in their own flames, but the ashes offer a chance for rebirth, so …
They light the spark again.

Mary heard a young girl’s protests inside the shop and looked up to see Andromeda struggling with her daughter. She reached under the counter and grabbed something before cautiously walking over to the two. “You look like you could use a little help...” She commented softly to Andromeda, before showing her and Dora a small stuffed cat. “Now we don’t have any unicorns, but I am this little kitten could keep you company until you can get your unicorn. She’s been looking for a friend.” She smiled warmly to the two.
Dora, please..
Mummy really needs you to cam down. I told you we would go and get your unicorn from the house, later, okay? We still have things to do first, though. I know you want to see Daddy, I know.

Mary returned the smile warmly, . “Oh no, don’t worry about it at all. It’s been a few years. And you see so many faces everyday I am surprised you can keep any names straight.”
"Thank you, I am just so grateful you know where she is so we can get here before she gets seriously hurt. She’s smart, hopefully she stayed in the tree you saw her in.” She nodded and gently grabbed his arm.
‘Is anyone expecting an owl, by chance?’
Alistair paused, studying the girl’s face for recognition. Suddenly, it dawned on him, and he remembered the small Gryffindor girl. He smiled, warmly. “Miss Mary Macdonald…of course! I’m sorry, I didn’t recognize you. You’re all grown up.” he told her, feeling somewhat foolish.
His features softened in a sympathetic way. “And I’m sorry about your owl, also. I don’t doubt that she’s well loved. I do hope she hasn’t wandered far from where I saw her. We should go now, and not waste any time. I think Apparation might be the fastest way to get there.”
