Wild Zinnias
The richly colorful flowers are very effective at attracting hummingbirds, which are drawn by the bright colors and come to eat the nectar, especially that of red and orange flowers. Common zinnia also attracts granivorous birds which enjoy the small seeds, and goldfinches in particular will pluck out the petals to get to the seeds before they ripen.

Black-Eyed Susan
All in the Downs the fleet was moor’d,
The streamers waving in the wind,
When black-eyed Susan came aboard;
‘O! where shall I my true-love find?
Rock’d with the billow to and fro,
Soon as her well-known voice he heard
He sigh’d, and cast his eyes below:
The cord slides swiftly through his glowing hands,
‘O Susan, Susan, lovely dear,
My vows shall ever true remain;
Let me kiss off that falling tear;
We only part to meet again.
Change as ye list, ye winds; my heart shall be
The faithful compass that still points to thee.

Garden places I shall tend.
For a welcome to a friend,
Make for him a roomy seat
By the box and privet sweet.

Siebold's plantain lily
Tumblr media
In summer, they produce lavender-colored plumes that host sweet nectar at their center. The colors are attractive to hummingbirds, as they can see purple at a distance. This plant brings even more butterflies. Shades of purple are easiest for butterflies to see, while hummingbirds are more attracted to red hues.

Tiger Lilies

Still, the longer I was around her, the more I could see the colors of her mind and the recesses of her heart. There was a beast in there. But there was also a girl who was afraid of being a beast, and who wondered if other people had beasts in their hearts too. There was strength, and there was also just the determination to look strong. She guarded herself like a secret.

Onion flower
Winter birds like to feast on the seeds of onion. Birds attracted to onion include buntings, doves, finches, quails, siskins, sparrows, and towhees. Smaller birds will perch on top of these root plants to eat the seeds directly from the flower. On some occasions, you might witness a hummingbird visiting, too.

panicle hydrangeas
Dragoons I tell you the white hydrangeas turn rust and go soon.
Already mid September a line of brown runs over them.
One sunset after another tracks the faces the petals.
Waiting they look over the fence for what way they go.
