Thinking of everything lost from discovery due to grave robbing 😔💔
These would have been fantastically beautiful when new. Still pretty stunning.

One day, archaeologists will dig up our old phones and debate whether we worshipped Apple or Android gods.

Archaeologists in Peru have excavated a monumental chamber in Pañamarca featuring elaborate murals of snakes, and a pillared hall with a worn throne, which they say bears clues suggesting a powerful woman ruled there more than 1,300 years ago.

Sometimes I think about how we don't know whether caves actually had any particular significance to so-called "cave people", or whether that's just where their art and culture happened to survive for us to see it, and I wonder what disproportionately durable aspect of our present culture is going to give future civilisations entirely the wrong idea about us. I bet it's going to be something really stupid.

Horror isn’t just about jump scares—it’s a cultural mirror reflecting society’s deepest fears about gender, power, and the body. In this new analysis, I explore how horror films both reinforce and challenge gender roles, from the Final Girl’s evolution to the grotesque power of body horror. Why are women’s bodies so often the site of terror? And how is modern horror reclaiming female power? 🔪👁️

Are we shaping technology, or is it shaping us? 🤯 Digital Interdependency Theory (DIT) is a new theory I developed to explore this tangled relationship. Building on past social theories and real-world observations, DIT dives into how social media, AI, and algorithms rewire culture, identity, and even our self-worth. From beauty filters to validation economies, tech isn’t just a tool—it’s a force that changes how we see ourselves and each other. Curious? Rethink your digital world. 📱💭

What do maggots and murder investigations have in common? 🪰🔍 In forensic entomology, insects aren’t just creepy crawlers—they’re crime scene clues. By studying insect life cycles on decomposing bodies, forensic scientists can pinpoint time of death, crack alibis, and reconstruct crime scenes with eerie accuracy. Want to know how bugs help solve mysteries? 🕵️♂️🔬
