Freddie Mercury KiSS Doll Sneak Peek #2!

I am very happy to say that I am hoping to finally be done with this project by this summer! I am currently working on Freddie's mid-1980s wardrobe, so, in the meantime, here are some of the looks I have already done so far!

I will also soon be posting a poll asking which KiSS doll I should make next, and I may also make an extra (and hopefully, MUCH smaller) KiSS in secret in the meantime...

whenever i listen to queen before i'm facing a challenge or need encouragement, it always feels like freddie himself is there with me to give me a hug and a fabulous pep talk. when your music is so powerful, even when you're gone, you know you've done it right. and i think that's beautiful.

Queen in a nutshell

Freddie: flamboyant queen, always the star of the show, is actually shy and loving and father to 27 cats, happily married to his husband

Brian: really lovely gentleman, will geek out with you about space, is the cause of mysterious photographer disappearances since early '73

Roger: bad boy rocker looks™, actually the biggest softie you can find, screams a lot, tends to throw things around

John: innocent angel smile, 100 % sass, says the most unhinged thing unprompted and he will leave you questioning your entire existence for weeks afterwards, freaky™

Happy 50th Wedding anniversary to John and Veronica Deacon! 🥰💕💕💕

In such a busy time and in a moment in which I feel so slow at drawing, I managed to make my annual drawing for their anniversary 💖 I know, probably it's not that grand, especially for their 50th anniversary, but I still poured all my heart on this and I hope you'll like it! 🥺💕 Also I'm very happy of finally having drawn John in his real 1971 hairstyle, still quite short and growing! 🤭✨️ This is the hairstyle in which he joined Queen and also met Veronica so I HAD to draw it! Unfortunately we still have no photos of Veronica in the 70s, bear with me hahah 😅 This time I also wanted to give her a more wintery wedding dress, with a jacket with fur to put on.

Little fun fact: for the central pose I took inspiration from a 70s comic panel of Doctor Strange with his wife Clea, which are my other favourite couple 💜

Me: False. Also, did you know that Freddie and Brian arranged the song for live performances so they'd be alone on stage? Did you know that they performed it together for a decade? Did you know that, when Freddie died, Brian went on his solo tour trying to flee from Queen as a whole? And despite this, he still performed this song alone on stage each night, even though he had tears in his eyes; even though he could barely sing? For Freddie? Did you know he turned this song into a tribute all by himself? For Freddie. Did you know that sometimes, while performing the song, Brian gets furious with grief? "I'm looking at my friend, someone I shared so much of my life with, and in a sense he's here because I'm performing with him. And in a sense, he's not. And that still makes me angry. That still makes me sad."
