Such a peculiar place. The streets had the same sort of labyrinthine feel that the Fable was used to, and the same desperate crowds that seemed to mill around every shithole of a city. Most of the people looked as average as she did, bar the peculiar clothing that looked like something out of a Mundy video game. At least, everyone looked normal until she spotted a cloaked male, skin an unusual pallor, with horns protruding from his head. If anything, she’d liken him to a troll, if he weren’t so slender.
Putting a hand on her hip, she readily approached the male, curious, and determined to gather knowledge. After all, such a strange appearance would be enough for her to confirm the existence of other... unique beings that didn’t need to hide from human eyes, and that would be a very, very interesting revelation.
Tumblr media
“Walk around like that in some places and someone’s likely to kill you, and mount that peculiar head of yours on their wall. Oh, how tragic that would be.”
Whilst her voice was relatively merry in its tone, her words certainly were not, and the laugh that left her lips soon after was far from pleasant.
"What I’m saying is you don’t exactly look like you belong around here. That skin... someone might just call you undead, if it weren’t for those horns. Can’t place you as a troll either though, so what sort of beast are you?”

Usually Mary wasn’t one for asking for directions. But after wandering the streets for what must have been hours, with her efforts fruitless, it seemed as though she had little choice. She was wasting time meandering around without a clue, so she’d have to bite the bullet. Otherwise she was going to remain clueless, and worse, defenceless. Casting her sights around, she quickly marked off several people, eventually settling on a rather young looking male. Pacing over to him without a second thought, she took little time in addressing him.
Tumblr media
“Heh.” Giving a small laugh, she moved to rest a hand against her hip, sizing the youngster up before her. He looked like a good candidate for ‘easy information source’, but she couldn’t be sure. Still, it’d be worth a shot... “Hey kid. Think you could point me towards the... kitchen utensils...  in this place?”
Barely even noting her own change in tone, she gave the boy a smile, albeit a far from friendly one. Keeping her pose tall, and threatening she awaited an answer. Whilst her statement may have sounded innocent enough, the real connotations behind it were not so sweet...

It was a peculiar realisation. To notice that the immense power that was once held by the Fable had dwindled to an almost pathetic extent. Her strength was not what it once was, nor her agility. Whilst she could still travel via mirrors that seemed... well, it wasn’t the same. But there was one thing she hadn’t yet tried...
Which was why Mary had taken to the back streets of Hive City, scouted the area out for a while, and found a particular alleyway that was quiet. No one seemed to pass by, at least not regularly. For the time being, she needed to play things safe, as much as she despised to, and the last thing she needed was for some stranger to notice her true form. At least, to notice it before she was ready, and able to use it to her advantage.
So silently, swiftly, Bloody Mary shifted into her true form. With the usual ease she found herself shifted, her grotesque appearance the same as ever. Yet she still felt wrong. Even now her powers showed no hope of returning. Uh... It was a disgusting feeling, being so weak. But she wasn’t so foolish as to outwardly vent her rage just yet.
Giving a disgruntled hiss, she turned on her heels, flexing clawed fingers in frustration. This meant that she’d have to find a way to get back her former glory. That for now she’d have to linger in the shadows, and find more subtle ways to sow the seeds of chaos, that-
In the corner of her eye, she spotted movement. Perhaps a curious human? Perhaps an unfortunate passerby? Pushing back the temptation to remain in that form, to try an frighten a poor little Mundy, she returned to her more human appearance, wondering if the stranger had actually seen anything. Just because that may cause some problems. Inclining her head in that general direction, she gave a grin, finally speaking up.

“It’s not nice to spy you know. It’s bad little sneaks like you that end up lying dead on street corners. I’d heed that warning, were I you.”

An awakening in a peculiar city would be more than unnerving for most, but even the Fable found herself bolting up with a start. Events gone by flashed through her mind, in a blur. She shouldn’t be here... but she was, and there didn’t seem to be a logical reason for it.. Yet that didn’t matter. Now she had a chance to get her own back, to sow the seeds of chaos where she could. Which was exactly why she wasted no time in exploring, checking herself for weaponry, and although finding herself devoid of it, continuing on. After all, she needed to get back home as soon as possible, and given who she was... that was hardly going to be difficult. Mary believed that soon she’d have the information on events that she desired, and that she’d return  to eradicate the Big Bad Wolf for good...
Almost effortlessly she located the first reflective surface she could, taking a brief glance around before stepping through it, aiming to transport herself back to the Crooked Man.
Except, she didn’t find herself anywhere near home, a fact she didn’t notice right off the bat. Yet as she lingered in the mirror, reaching towards its surface in preparation to leave, she noted a complete stranger lingering nearby. A girl if she wasn’t mistaken, clad in red and black. Heh. Certainly not someone she recognised, but she didn’t exactly look like the average Mundy either....
Smiling to herself, she took little notice of whether or not the other was paying attention to the mirror, and finally stepped out of it, brushing off her clothes idly as she did so. Huh. Looking around now, this certainly didn’t appear to be where she wanted to go. Now how the Hell did she get here?
Tumblr media
“Either someone like you decided it’s a smart idea to whisper my name to a mirror, or there’s something about this place that I don’t quite know. Whatever the answer is, seeing as I’m not a big fan of either, things might just turn nasty...”

{{ I think it’s time to get things started here with Mary! So if anyone would like a starter, feel free to give this a like! I’ll cap this at four for now. Just be aware- she's an antagonist, and so coming into contact with her isn’t likely to be a walk in the park. }}
