i think we often get caught in the silliness of the show and forget how deep it actually is. yes it’s a stupid lil show about firefighters and their emergencies, but it’s also about a kind soldier with ptsd who doesn’t know how to love himself, but never once stopped trying, and a lost boy who became a lost man, but eventually found home and himself, and an alcoholic who’s still learning to forgive himself but doubles as a father figure to everyone around him, and a woman who lost everything, even her fiancé, but managed to build herself up from the ground, and a man who was forced to say goodbye to the one brother he had, but trusted himself enough to earn the life said brother would’ve wanted for him, and a woman who had to fight thrice as hard to become who she wanted to be, just because of who she was inside and out, and about a woman who was taught she didn’t matter, but believed in real love enough to try again. their stories are blended into the fun of it all. but they are bright enough to shine above.

I cannot believe two of the major plot lines in this episode are

1. Hen and Karen deal with deep real painful troubles about parenting

2. Buck is cursed by a cowboy ghost

It's interesting that Tonka Toy didn't want to touch Buck (be clear, he acted like he didn't want to do it while he was in the hospital which was before he had the boils 😬) not only because of the oozing boils on his face but also because Temu is a firefighter.

Why is this important?

It's important because all LOS ANGELES FIREFIGHTERS ARE ALSO EMTs.

I know this is a TV show but everyone at the 118 who's not certified paramedics are EMTs including Buck and T*mmy.

So, the question is why didn't Tonsillitis want to assist his boyfriend 🤔?

Could it be because he didn’t want to?

Was he going to use it as an excuse to breakup with him? (Reminder, he wasn't touching him before the boils and based on his actions, it seems like he doesn't even like Buck.)

Or did he want to see Eddie Diaz 👀? (He tried to date Eddie first!)

The point of this post is it's simply interesting that Toy Story has more than 16 years of experience (he was at the 118 before Chimney and Hen and in 6x1 Hen said she had been there for 12 years, therefore 2 + 12 = 14 and since Chimney was there before her, then it's simple mathematics that Chimney has at least 15 or more years of service. Since Trombone was there before both of them, this dude has to have been with the LAFD for at least 16 years) as a firefighter/EMT, he should have been able to help Buck.

Consider,,, the 118 is working on the plane crash, Eddie and Chim are teamed up together. The 133 comes to help, Captain Mehta sees Eddie and comes up to say hi.

Mehta: hey, Diaz! Where’s your partner?

Eddie: ah, he’s working with someone else today, he should be on the southwest side

Mehta: well, if you ever want to bring him on another poker date he’s more than welcome,,, just so long as he doesn’t gain anymore math superpowers

Chim drops whatever he’s holding and whips around to look at Eddie who looks like he’s just been struck dumb. Internally, Eddie is combing through all of his memories of Buck, realizing that maybe their relationship has never been quite as platonic as he thought. That maybe his feelings for Buck have never been platonic.

They’re at a disaster, though, and they can’t talk about it. They don’t say anything until they get back to the station, where Chim drags Eddie outside to talk.

Chim: Eddie…

Eddie: you can’t tell anyone, Chimney. I can’t… I won’t put Buck through any sort of conversation about all of *gestures at himself* this unless I know for sure what I want. Who I want.

Cue Chimney trying to keep a secret, Eddie being so, so fucking weird, and Buck being in his own personal hell because suddenly Eddie is avoiding him and spending all of his time with Chim of all people.
