I just started playing Minecraft. Like with most new things, I'm feeling the urge to post about every insignificant event that happens. So -- to save folk's dashboards -- this blog is to store it all.

This seed spawns you in the middle of a pasture (golden barely fields) w/ my current configurations. It's really rather lovely.

So!
There's been talk of restarting the public server. Mod discussion and plugin discussion, permissions, all sorts of nitty-gritty details that need ironing.
Two of the plugins we've included are Lores and Phatloots. One lets you create unique items (titles, descriptions, etc). The other allows you to set chests in the world with loot tables, with a host of options like 'individuals can loot every 10 hours' or 'once someone loots this, its gone'.
All I can think of is how fun it would be to have a small 'adventure' world accessible by portal, that folks can explore and follow mini-story lines and conquer dungeons/jumping puzzles/mazes. Once a month all the chests could reset, so part of the fun would be exploring the world and part of the fun would be remembering what you learned for next time.
It could nice, ongoing project for the builders, too -- anytime an admin is feeling bored they could hop into creative and add more to the world.

"Yes it's true. If you live in the US you can now pick up prepaid Minecraft cards at Walmart, Best Buy & Target!"
A true mark of how Minecraft has grown. Dear lord.
