according to the genius lyrics, it is about being interested in a girl who has "witchy" persona. if you ask me i couldn't agree more about why this song is so good. as a spiritual person myself, i almost felt seen in a way. the song and lyrics consists of Childish Gambino finding an imbalance of falling in love w a girl but, at the same time feeling unsure about how his friends would think of her bc of her spiritual lifestyle such as using crystals. this dilemma goes away when he sees that his friends also see her despite their judgements/ the first time i heard this song i felt so seen from the topic and the beat of the song, the auto tune Gambino uses is perfect for the high notes in the chorus, i love this song to my core. i will never stop saying how i feel so seen w this song

this song is from the movie, "They Cloned Tyrone", it was played at the club scene. when i first heard it i was in such a trance when listening to it, journee's voice is so enchanting based on the lyrics i feel like its about a toxic relationship, the title implies the cycle of abuse that seems to repeat itself, the couple keeps going in circles and not resolving anything. the boyfriend seems to enjoying the dynamic without really caring too much about where things are going, he finds her attractive and wants her in his life although he doesn't seem to put any priority on their connection. the girlfriend is the one trying to find an answer from him and is feeling exhausted from her partner not making up his mind, shes constantly trying to communicate to him. in the end, he calls for her and explains his incapability to be without her; the cycle continues on...
