The School System Is Utter Shit, And We Are The Only Ones With The Power To Change It.
Oh, you heard me right. We are the only ones with the power to change the school system. The government isn’t going to do shit about this, because they don’t care.
Have you ever wondered why you barely learn about mental health in health class? (Besides for those shitty PowerPoints about stressors that are only ever directed towards abled, neurotypical people)
Because the school system is inherently ableist and addiction disables you.
Addiction is something preventable, unlike things like ADHD and autism.
It’s something they can control.
So, in turn, what do they benefit by only letting the people who fit their standards succeed?
Capitalism.

“Grem, what can I do about this?”
Well, person-I-made-up-for-this-post, write (or talk). Write, write, write. Write to the PTA, write to your teachers, write to your principal, write to your friends, write to the school board, write to your MP, write to your senator.
Write to:
a) Anyone who actually has the power to literally make the change
b) Anyone who has the influence to spread this knowledge, this need to change thing. I DON’T MEAN CELEBRITIES. ANYONE CAN HAVE INFLUENCE. IF YOU GET YOUR ENTIRE ENGLISH CLASS ON BOARD- THAT’S INFLUENCE.
I, personally, am currently drafting an email-essay to my Premier and the associated (with education) government officials.
When I finish and send it, will it do something all on it’s own?
Probably not.
But imagine, for a second.
Imagine your entire class writing these emails. That’s about, what? 25-30 emails to a government official?
Imagine every person who sees this post getting the majority of their class on board.
That’s influence.
And you can spread influence.
You can, and you should.
Because there is literally no other way that this will change.
I am begging you. Please, we need help.
