Went swiming in my modified @swimtails tail! This was my first time swimming in a Mahina and it wasnt as bad for me as I thought it might! I definitely need to strengthen up my feet to be able to swim more in it! I really didnt make any new cosplays this year, probably because out of 12 months, I took a seven month hiatus 😂😂😂 But I'm happy with what ive made! I started off by making my dream version of Fiona that I love and find sooo comfy to wear and suuuppeerrr flattering on me. Then I kinda was feeling the burn out but didnt want to admit it, then spent the week before Fanime practically hot gluing together a stupid idea I haf in the back of my mind for YEARS which happened to be Leia riding a Taun taun. Literally after this photo it broke and I dont care enough to revive it lol Then in the day or so leading up to summer sacanime, I busted out my neoprene mermaid tail! It fits so well and I love swimming in it, plus developing an aesthetic for this part of me was sosoothing to my soul! Finally, I revisited Rose Quartz and made a version I love and feel so comfortable in and I'm so happy with how the bosice turned out and I loved sewing the lace on! I do want to remake the skirt, but unfortunately its not my highest priority! For my tenth year in cosplay, I enjoyed taking it easy! I feel like the reason certain dog-lovers insist cats are evil is because they read their body language as if they were dogs. So here’s a very basic guide to common “mean” things cats do that actually aren’t mean at all if you know what they’re thinking.

Rolling and exposing belly- attacks you when touched Does not mean: Give belly rubs! - haha I tricked you!  Actually means: I’m playful! If you reach for my belly I’ll grab your arm and bite it because I think we’re playfighting! 

Lazily exposing belly - still attacks when touched Does not mean: tricked you again! Actually means: I’m showing you my belly because I trust you. Please don’t break that trust by invading my personal space. I might accept a belly rub if I’m not ticklish and I know you well. Snapping at you while being pet Does not mean: I suddenly decided I dislike you! Actually means: You’re petting me in a way that gives me too much restless energy. Please focus on petting my head and shoulders instead of stroking the full length of my back next time.

Is in the same room but makes no attempt to interact Does not mean:  I’m ignoring you Actually means: We’re hanging out! I’m being respectful by giving you space while still enjoying your company. Slapping/scratching your hand when you try to pet them Does not mean: I hate you! Actually means: You’ve failed to establish that we’re not playing, or the way you’re approaching me scares me. Be calmer, speak more gently, make eye-contact and blink slowly at me before you try again.

Happened to be scrolling facebook and saw the #crxglowup and wanted to participate! My first cosplay was San from Princess Mononoke, slapped together the day before @sacanimeofficial in four hours back in 2008 (ive been cosplaying for ten years!). I absolutely butchered my bangs, used acrylic paint on my face, and y dress was one my mom kept from hwr college days 😂 The one I'm most proud of is my Belle. This was three months of my life where I made more than 20 elements and about nine layers lol the dress its self is reversible, the stomacher is hand embroidered, all layers of clothing were made by me down to the socks, and the shoes were heavily modified from Victorian boots and I designed the custom pattens for my shoes (I had help with the basic cut of the wood but the rest of the sanding, staining and leather work were done by me!) Its my greatest accomplishment and I love it so much! 2008-2018 definitely come a long way!

I’ve seen people saying that Cher playing Meryl Streep’s mother in the Mamma Mia sequel stretches credulity because they’re the same age IRL, and to that I say: do you even go here? No one is going to see Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again for realism or accuracy or good casting. This is a sequel ten years in the making to a movie musical from 2008 in which Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgård. and Colin Firth danced around in sequined disco outfits singing ABBA’s “Waterloo.” A movie in which Julie Walters does a split-second Elvis impression while singing “Dancing Queen.” A movie with an entire musical number dedicated to the fact that Christine Baranski’s milkshake brings all the boys to the yard. No one is watching this movie for quality, you fools. We are here to act stupid in public and sing along (badly) to ABBA. The camp is a feature, not a bug.
