Fight Club

INTRODUCTION

Fight Club is a American movie based on a novel of the same name written by Chuck Palahniuk. Movie is directed by David Fincher the main rules are playing Edward Norton as a Narrator we don’t know him name, Brad Pitt as a Tyler Durden, and Helena Bonham is playing a role of Marla Singer. The gender of the movie is not clear but it has a characteristics of Action Movie and Screen Play Novel.  Chuck Palahniuk novel was optioned by 20th Century Fox producer Laura Ziskin, who gave to Jim Uhls to write the movie adaptation. The theme of the movie is about the conflict between a young generations and the value system in the country. Jim Uhls copied the homoerotic tones from a novel in order to make audiences feel uncomfortable and keep them away from the twisted ending.

Jim Uhls is a American writer and producer, he was born on March 25, 1957 in Missouri as a James Walter Uhls. He is known for Fight Club (1999), Jumper (2008) and The Leviathan. The latest work of his I a Fight Club: Copy of a Copy.  Jim is mostly writing about the people with unusual everyday life either it is a mental disorder of some ability of a super human. 

EXPLANATION

My reason why I picked this movie out of many favorite movie I have, is that I really like the this parallel story which is going on and the intensity of storytelling from the very beginning till the end and I got confused what is happening in the movie. How he is separated and the stuff he is doing without knowing and not the chance that two parallel stories is going to meet through whole movie is just fascinating. With many characters involved in his life but without any clue that he is actually the guy he admire and hate at the same time.

DESCRIPTION OF THE NARRATIVE

The Narrator is a normal guy who works for a car industry with a problem of insomnia from the beginning he tried to heal himself by buying thinks for his flat like furniture and everything he sees on a TV. Soon he visited doctor for help because insomnia become serious problem for him. After doctor told him that the best for him is to just take a natural sleep he desperately begging doctored for some medicine but he told him to visit some support group to see how people have serious problems. For the first time he attempted to testicular cancer victims. Which helped him to take back his normal life, what more he started to go to many support groups  to in order to feel even better. But he realized that one girl is coming to support groups as well and as much he is which upsets him and insomnia is back. After some time they agreed to separate the supporting groups so they don’t see each other. After a negotiation with her he gave her his phone number.

On his way home from a business trip at the plane he meets Tyler Durden, the soap salesman with whom he started a conversation after noticing that they have the same briefcase. After the flight Narrator came home but his flat was destroyed by the fire, with nobody to call he took a business card which Tyler gave him just before and called him for a beer at the bar. After a beer Tyler pushed Narrator to ask him for sleep over supposing that he called him for a beer just because he didn’t have anywhere to go. After a small talk about the place to sleep, Tyler asked Narrator to punch him as much as he can. After that punch they started to fight but after the fight they went to Tylers decaying house. They repeated that fight after a beer but they got a people around them interested into fight as well, a front of the bar on the parking sports. As this after named Fight Club started to grow they moved inside the bars basement.

Marla one night overdoses on pills and called Narrator on the phone number he gave her before. He ignores her, leaving the phone but not disconnected. Tyler shortly after noticed the phone and picked up. After Tyler went to help Marla he brought her at his place. Tyler said to Narrator to not speak about him with Marla and Fight Club, by the way the main rule of Fight Club is not to speak about Fight Club to anybody. Tyler as a leader of Fight Club he made a club to became anti-materialistic and anti-corporate organization with telling anything to Narrator about.

After some time Narrator started to complain to Tyler for excluding him from the projects he is organizing with the club. Soon after, Tyler left the house without saying goodbye to Narrator. When a member of Project Mayhen got killed by the police in one of the actions they made. Narrator tried to shut down the project. Seeking for Tyler, Narrator follow his travel tickets through the country in one of the cities on member told him that he is actually Tyler. Narrator called Marla just after that to ask what is his real name, Marla told him that he is crazy and she confirmed that he is Tyler, at that moment Tyler appeared and everything was clear from the moment.

Narrator tried to stop explosions but Tyler took him to the upper floor with a gun. Narrator realizes that in sharing the same body with him, he can control what he is doing. He took a control over him and fired into his mouth. After shooting Tyler fadeout. Shortly after members of the Fight Club came with Marla as a hostage. Movie end with a shot of Narrator and Marla holding hands watching the explosions collapsing the buildings.

Chapter Four

McHuman-O-Fish

In this picture, we can immediately see that this is a hamburger from McDonald's famous restaurant. Picture from which I stole inspiration originally had the fish tank that seemed so helpless indoors and just waited for the moment when it will become the victim of a mass-produce and eventually end up in one of our stomachs. Looking at the defenseless animal that I decided to put us human beings who so callously take what does not belong to us for our enjoyment or need. I chose this character who in the commercial spray that he spokes model representing a man who can do everything with ease even without respect no laws of physics. This figure is put in a position where the fish has lost its original power and became a helpless victim of one's needs and enjoyment. Also in the picture is a fish that does not seem so naive and there is a big chance that our ideal character to be an instance of an animal meal, which had previously been trapped.

The original image is the edited photos or beer promotion poster for the same beer. I am using Photoshop into a bottle of beer in ketchup agrees to irony or imitation products that are used all over the world and the needs of each company to mass complaint to the competition was overcome in some way. I took advantage of the need of these products for bonding products with some cities around the world with customers in the same to introduce mass demand of these products and thus show people that in fact it does not matter which product shows that we as customers are already accustomed to buy or want to buy the most popular brand of thinking that the same brand is also the best product. This picture I want to show the human indifference to some research or some educating on what we actually better not to buy a product just because it looks good and is usually seen. The natural product is a metaphor used to express the entire consumer society that pays attention to the importance of using something to help us in the future make better or at least a little better quality of life. I also want to express a human need not to expose their daily habits to a breach like this to try to change even the smallest thing every day, and the inability to adapt the same or similar changes.

Chapter Three

Pobednik (Winner)

Pobednik (winner) is the name of a triumphal monument, which was erected in 1928 in the Upper Town of Belgrade Fortress to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Salonika front. The monument consists of a bronze male figure with an eagle in his left hand and lowered the sword in his right, the work of sculptor Ivana Mestrovic, as well as a pedestal which is designed in the form of Doric columns with grooves on a high cubic base, original work of architect Petar Bajalović. This monument was primarily designed as a fountain to a crossroads in the center of Belgrade to him when he was finished yet put on the plateau of the castle. Pobednik represents the struggle of the Serbian people against the occupiers and running away into the unknown in order to save lives but in the end returned as winners.

Ljubisa Preletacevic BELI 

Luka Maksimovic the young man from Mladenovac, a town near Belgrade. He and his friends during the selection in the city founded by a group of citizens called S.P.N (cabbage rolls tried you didn't/sarmu probo nisi). They created two fictional characters and that the President Ljubisa Preletacevic White and Nebojša Prilepak. His sarcasm and impossible promises became known in Serbia overnight. They managed to enter the assembly of the city, just a year later their citizens' group won third place in the presidential elections in Serbia, despite all the troubles they staged. 

For me, these guys are winners of the modern era to properly point to the situation in the country and they showed us that every individual can make a really big deal if you are sufficiently engaged. He has managed to bring young people to vote in Serbia and it is difficult to succeed nowadays. During his campaign, which is keeping no money donations only from people who supported him. People in Serbia have started to socialize because they have finally fasteners.

Chapter Two

Denotation:

On this poster, we see something is unusual from the first look, on the left side of the picture we have a class of beer very fresh one with the perfect level of foam fresh slice of slashed bottle. On the class of beer Very visible is a brand logo which we have on this poster only four times. On the right side of the picture, we have a strangely slashed bottle which looks like of fresh lemon or better lime. What is very interesting for this bottle is that jelly structure. Right on the top is a logo of beer with a message “BE FRESH”, and on the bottom right is a description how and on which temperature it should be served.

Connotation:

Let’s start with the glass. Glass and beer inside have completely opposite purpose from the vision message we got from this glass, it should be some kind of cocktail.Also, bottles cut into slices and texture that looks like gelatin and gives us the knowledge to read something unusual and delicious and totally different from what we're used to seeing when it comes to beer bottles. Brightness is also very important because it indicates what is in focus and makes a striking contrast to the rest of the scene and grabs our eye and directs our thoughts only on the freshness of our showers on each view. The yellow combined with green is a winning combination as both a primer before our eyes so that I have while watching a pleasant feeling and we can feel the full freshness of what is shown in this picture. Also on the left glass stands as a slice of lemon so we have a full sense when it comes to representation of freshness and purity of the product to our imposes on the picture, then piece that stands on a glass reminiscent of lеnоm and shows that beer is itself freshener beer already in glass and every other supplement piece beer and more than useless. As we know, for every lover of beer are only two things that the beer cold and fresh and this team is a pure imitation of such a demand.

Myth:

The myth is more than obvious each pixel of the picture tentatively screams of satisfaction of those who have tried this beer. Also, representations of beer, which is in itself sufficient enjoyment and you do not need anything else. Colors show the freshness and pleasure, beer is cold and has a fresh focus group and they are enjoying the beer. In this way, this picture is a hit to gain the full attention of the person who wants to try this beer that is presented.

Chapter One

This picture I took in Rome. In those days I was very busy working on an event that is no way connected with the art. I decided to get my coffee and take a little walk around Rome in order to be loosened. I was walking through the park, well known for its beauty that attracts people for centuries. I happened to be in a very unusual setting of shining sun, everything was green around me, I had a feeling that time has stopped I felt like I was in a movie with a happy ending. I glanced at the benches where people sit very still and talked about their everyday lives, and I was very fascinated by this kind of beauty that people accept as something quite ordinary. I took my camera in order to capture that moment, the same moment, when I saw the picture on the camera, filled my day because I did something to me which will stay with my from this experience and I hope everybody who will look at this picture feels the same way as I did.

This image has a motive on the right side of the old buildings which are connecting points through the city in order to bring them water, that give this photo a special touch that has not lost its luster for so many years. Also the present motives harmonic content of animals and people together enjoy such a beautiful day. Two men, one of which sits with his friend talk about their everyday lives and pigeons that also exploited the opportunity to grab some peace in this park. They are more connected than they are and they just properly introduced it because of the kind of parts of a scene of peace and serenity. It can be noticed that the picture was taken from a distance without having to disrupt their peace and harmony in which I participated as well. The sun that penetrates through the thin sheets of grasses and plants that are not exempt from a moment a complete picture of that moment. It gives a special touch of happiness because the green grass is powered by the sun life, a clear sign that spring is awakening and brings these scenes.

This gallery that I chose presents documentary photography. I think it is very important that these images are increasingly showing up in public so that people withdrew from them all the clever things they provide. This event took place in October 2000 in Belgrade as a protest against the regime in Serbia. After these demonstrations, people have again felt our freedom of speech and much more. I understand that my picture does not at first look have a lot to do with the images that I chose from demonstrations but I want to put a clear message that such a pictures such as mine are much more beautiful than these but not less important, because both images should be here to show us scenario acts can make even though these acts from the beginning seem so naive.
