Genuine question but why do so many people think they got to choose their progen's tert? Like I'm not new by any means and yet I hear it from many ppl who joined around the same time as me, citing how long it's been for not remembering. It's something I find so genuinly bizarre, I cannot wrap my head around it. If I could choose my progen's tert I would not have chosen swamp lol
#??? i thought i chose the tert but i guess not??#wiki says you dont but i SWEAR i chose brown to make mine look like a banana

Hi! So you wanna do some fun activities on Flight Rising?
Well first you should head to the Trading Post, which is the area that looks like a marketplace, but the Marketplace is where you buy things, but most people actually buy things at the Auction House, which doesn't have auctions, where you can sell things but if you want to trade things you have to go to the Crossroads, no not the place with the big crossroads drawn on it that's the Trading Post, you can't trade with other people there
#i play flight rising and these things always confuse me every time#the amount of times ive clicked on the wrong link is WILD

🍓🍌🥭for ask game?
🍓 This made me realize how few pathetic dragons I have . Basically all of the pathetic ones are only pathetic in a SPECIFIC way. Certainly doesn't help how few of them are actually developed... However, I did manage to find A wet cat dragon that works well enough! Meet Ronwen, the primary caretaker of the clan. She watches after and raises most of the clan's hatchlings, but... well... let's just say having to deal with the curse's shenanigans firsthand certainly hasn't hardened her spirit. The precarious position of the young'uns' safety has sufficiently tired and worried her day in and day out. It's good that she's managed to find a partner and child, along with an assistant, because I'm not sure how she'd be doing if she was the only one to have to deal with all that...
🍌 Ohhhhhhh boy you've signed yourself up for a RIDE with this one! There's a few developed relationships in my clan, but the big one that remains in my mind time and time again are Fragile and Blight. Their entire situation and how they got there is all very funny to me, largely from an outside perspective. When Blight first arrived, basically everyone was unnerved by Blight's fascination with the darker sides of magic, seeming to have joined the clan entirely to see the magical effects the curse had on the inhabitants. Fragile, however, seemed EXTRA nervous, continuing to avoid Blight even when everyone else had calmed down. This was very strange to everyone else, because as an ex-conman he was usually pretty good at keeping himself together. Things only got more confusing when she stopped avoiding Blight and started showing curiosity in Blight's magic, STILL seeming constantly on-edge around Blight. It got to a point where her sibling, Canary, was convinced Blight was blackmailing her. I even have an entire story in the works from the point of view of them, but that's not what this is about. What this is ABOUT is that Fragile was, in fact, nervous because he thought Blight was very cool and interesting and also kind-of-a-little-bit-just-a-little-though attractive. Blight started by thinking Blight just had to scare him away, but after a while realized his whole act was actually pretty adorable. Nowadays, nobody's sure what's going on with the two of them and both the clan's therapist and the clan's head archivist can't get ahold of either for long enough to get answers. The only dragons who know for SURE what's going on are the two lovebirds and Canary.
🥭 Heeheee hee. Ohoho. Oh man. Alright so, I basically never go FULL doomed by the narrative, as I'm a softie through and through. HOWEVER. I do love my fine dose of somebody being NEARLY doomed by the narrative. And boy do I have the dragon for that! Or. Dragons? I'm unsure if both count as being initially doomed. So, Hochstet. Not having a good time with basically anything. He's been INHABITED by an ancient curse known as The Intruder for a significant portion of his adult life, and hasn't been able to find a single cure. The only thing keeping him looking for one is his partner, Cricket. Quite literally the ONLY good thing happening in his life. So you can imagine what happens when The Intruder decides they're tired of Cricket getting in the way of their grand plan, and force a burst of power at the right moment! Hochstet freaks out, gives up on trying to control them, has to be forcefully stopped before his transformation causes significant damage to anyone else, etc. etc. etc. Luckily, Hochstet eventually calms down, and the clan's curse reaches Cricket before they can even begin to die. Were it not for the unusual state of this clan, these two would be MUCH more thoroughly doomed. Cricket would have died, Hochstet would have become a living manifestation of shadow, nobody would be happy. He does still have to deal with the guilt and further weakness, though.....

🍑 🍉 for the ask!!
🍑 "Do you expect me to sit here and ignore what's going on? Do you think I'll just continue reading my books and sorting my files? That's what they all think I'll do. It isn't uncommon for strange things to happen here, they always do. But not like this. I saw their wounds. I saw the flittering creatures that sewed the unnamed dragon's gashes shut when it thought no one was looking. I saw the runes on Blessing's face move. I saw them shift, change. These two are the only dragons in the entire clan that are completely unaffected by the curse. Do you really think it's possible for them to start showing symptoms at the exact same time? The others might believe so, but the two of them... the way they managed these features was too natural." Not COMPLETELY sure what 'the author's commentary' refers to, but this tidbit and the rest of the entry was written by Twilight, the head archivist. This was after the living manifestation of the curse that took over and an anticurse attempting to kill it fought in a, frankly, WILD display. Twilight really doesn't want anyone to find this note, for reasons partly unknown even to themself. Will the curse be chased out? Will they die by something indragon's hand? They don't know! But it's something they REALLY don't want to find out.
🍉 Ohh this one's fun. There's probably LOTS of my dragons that would get banned from a grocery store, but most would be for reasons outside of their control. As far as behavior goes, 100% Raw. It's made entirely of meat, sure, but that's not the problem here! If it got anywhere near the meat section it would probably be so obsessed with getting it's claws on the cuts behind the glass that it'd have to be dragged away, probably with a whole steak in hand. Kinda sucks since it's the apprentice chef but hey. You gotta do what you gotta do

Back when the Nature Ancient was teased I was really hoping for lemur dragons. These creatures don't look like lemurs, nor do they look like dragons, but I like them. I call them Traipsers.
Design notes/trivia/what-have-yous under the cut:
The lore behind these dragons (though 'dragon' is really stretching it) is that they're compassionate, social creatures who live in troops upwards of 50 individuals. Led by three or four of the wisest troop members, Traipsers are known to lead lost travelers through the Viridian Labyrinth, or even house them temporarily within their canopy cities. In the rarest cases, a troop will gladly adopt rescued dragons and Beastclan into their ranks.
Though their gentle temperaments were widely respected by other rainforest denizens, the introduction of the fiercely combative Wildclaws drove Traipsers into hiding, up the tallest tree boughs of the Behemoth where their less dexterous cousins could not reach. For years and years they stayed out of sight, until strange shifts in the magical ley lines started to disrupt draconic way of life - including for Wildclaws. The Traipsers, despite their history, could not sit by and watch their neighbors suffer, so once again they emerged, ready to lend a helping hand.
Traipsers resemble a cross between tree frogs and lemurs. The long nail on the dragon's index finger is used in scratching, foraging and climbing. A large throat sac can inflate to make riveting ribbiting sounds. But Traipsers' most notable trait is their large head fans, which show off a wide array of colors for courtship and expressive purposes. Despite the dark bases of these fans looking like horns, they are actually mostly muscle, and house the ear canal underneath, similar to an elephant. The fans are attached at the back of the neck, and can move up, down, and side-to-side. The tails are too thin to be prehensile, but they can signal to other members of a troop like a flag.
Many of a Traipser's traits are used less for combat and more for communication, as they have not had natural enemies for most of their existence. In addition, Traipser culture values airtight troop relationships, agreeableness, and personal style. Rude, argumentative, or just plain headstrong Traipsers risk banishment from a troop. Loneliness is the worst kind of torture for a Traipser; without anyone to lend support, a loner tends to withdraw and shut down to the point of neglecting their own needs. It's usually after rescue by another troop that the loner 'learns their lesson' and becomes more agreeable. The generosity of a functioning Traipser society starkly contrasts the suffering of its more hotheaded individuals.
On the subject of style, it's not uncommon for Traipsers to decorate their fans with fruit dyes, leaves, stones, and whatever else catches their eyes. Paintings of family or friendship history are a very fashionable choice. Lairs function similarly, only more permanent and with large hanging nests for troops to cuddle in. The care of hatchlings is a group effort, where the parents will gather their closest friends and family to take turns watching over the young and teaching them about the world. Exposure to a friend group's diverse range of worldviews at a young age helps in forming strong Traipser minds.
Traipsers are not used to fighting, and will typically flee to their troop if confronted. If a troop should face danger, a handful of members will attack the opponent with rapid-fire, dizzying kicks and tail smacks, while the rest guard the weak. Lone Traipsers do not have the luxury of teamwork, and will resort to biting and scratching with their long canines and nails. A particularly desperate Traipser will grapple their opponent and attempt to dislocate or break bones, including the jaw.
Some image assets:
And there you have it! Fanmade dragons. This was a lot to do, I'm not sure if I'll add any more genes/assets. Nothing's set in stone, though! I like making fake things look real.
Traipsers are free-to-use with credit, and you can give them whatever genes or colors you want.

im neurodivergent. you know what that means
it means im losing my mind at how little lore sprites have despite being somewhat linked to the deities and thus the worldbuilding brain has taken over and i want to write down my sprite thoughts -the first ever sprites were made to serve as a direct connection between each deity and their children, there are other sprites that appear through so far unknown means cause i only recently had these ideas but they arent quite as common as the later created nymphs -the first eleven sprites have short one to two syllable unique names, meanwhile all sprites and nymphs afterwards tend to have names relevant to their element -less of a worldbuilding thing and more of a headcanon, i think the art for each of the sprites is specifically of the first ones. not all sprites look exactly at that, its just the most prominent examples -the sprites in glimmer and gloom are actually real sprites! ...technically. theyre actors that work at the fairgrounds and that isnt their real personalities. theyre actually pretty close friends that take great joy in competing and being mean to eachother while in character, just like in real life! -not QUITE sure whats going on with the nymphs, but one cool possibility is that while sprites are formed directly within the territory, nymphs happen when theyre in the boundary between two territories, thus exhibiting traits from each. this does mean that theres way more variety than the ones we see ingame, like a crystal nymph that largely looks like an ice sprite but also has more earthy features! this is also why theres so many more nymphs than sprites, because most areas of land would result in a nymph
i dont have any more at the moment! uh. um. my favorite sprite is the lightning sprite and my favorite nymph is the sparkle nymph
if your still here. no, that light sprite is not real and cannot hurt you
