apology tour seems like it’s going to be mean spirited based on the premise being a ‘you suck’ party but it’s actually one of the kindest, gentlest episodes helluva boss ever put out.

even when the characters are mad at each other there is so much love pouring through. stolas’ ‘blitz is trash’ song is 40% ‘it really, really hurts to think you didn’t care when i cared so much’ 50% ‘i want to understand you, i want to do it right, please help me understand you’ and 10% ‘motherfucker’ vocal echos.

blitz is in pain seeing stolas in pain and is unable to keep himself distant, catching stolas and holding him when he falls. trying, for the first time in a very long time, to explain his feelings, acting kind when stolas is noticed by a potential sexual partner. it’s blitz without 5000 barriers erected around himself, a direct contrast to the episode previous, and it’s precious.

verosika, who is pissed at how her and blitz’s relationship went down, who acted as the stock ‘funny, mad ex’ character until this episode, is so damn kind explaining to blitz the real premise of the episode, because she did love him. my gosh she loved him SO MUCH. and she didn’t forget that even in her anger.

and that premise is: ‘you are so loved. so loved. look at all these people who loved you. look at the massive impact you left on their lives. you hating yourself and acting like your impact is insignificant is so unfair because it hurts you AND everyone who loves you.’
