Recent Work
I’ve been spending a lot of time painting in the past few months, and that just makes me the happiest person in the world. I’ve been focusing on developing my art lately, exploring mediums, and put flowers on every surface I could wipe a brush on.
“Bulaklakin” - oil on 24″ x 32″
First off, here’s my proudest work yet. I spent the entire summer painting this huge piece for my mom’s friend and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. When I finished this painting, it was the moment I knew I wanted to do this for the rest of my life and just how much I wanted to make a career out of painting. This truly is what I’m meant to be doing and I’m more than grateful to be given the time and the resources to actually do it.
Next up is a shoe rack I painted for my aunt--who’s an art enthusiast that collects pieces from local artists and hangs them up all over her house. I’ve been wanting to try and paint on furniture for the longest time, and I was so happy when my aunt approached me to do this for her. She’s been one of the many people who have always encouraged me to pursue art and I’m always thankful for her--which is another reason why this was one of my favorite projects yet.
Here’s a piece I just recently finished, inspired by Beyonce’s Vogue cover shoot. She was on hold for a while when all the commissions came in but I got around to finishing her up just last week. The most challenging part of this painting was probably the details on the lace dress. I initially didn’t intend her to have a lace dress on but after I had finished everything, the piece still seemed empty. I’ve painted lace on my previous pieces before, but definitely not as detailed as this. It isn’t perfect, but I’m still happy with how it turned out. Just maybe need a little bit more practice and also study the intricacy of the material.
And lastly, here are some denim jackets I painted on. It’s been a long time since I last used acrylic paint--didn’t really get along with it in past experiences. But after using acrylic for these jackets, I might have warmed up to it. After painting on five jackets so far, I can definitely say I’m much more comfortable with painting with acrylic now than ever.
Watch the process of how I made these paintings below! Also, subscribe to my youtube channel to see more art vlogs in the future!

Top: Zara | Pants: Zara | Shoes: Zara
This might be one of my fave outfits I’ve ever worn because it checks out everything I look for in a perfect casual look--it’s very comfortable, the pieces match each other perfectly, it just brings out who I am through the artsy bouquet print on both the shirt and pants, and not to mention everything but the jewelry is from Zara. It also feels pretty good to wear super loud prints than the usual basic pieces every week--much so that I’ve committed to spreading my wings a bit more and try getting into clothes that are really out there to spice up my wardrobe. I’ve painted on a couple of denim jackets (which I’ll be posting soon, but go to my instagram - ekasanmiguel to check them out lol) and I’m planning on doing them to a couple of my pants and shirts to make a lot more of my clothes more interesting than they are. Not to say I’ve outgrown going basic--I’ll always and forever have a lot of basic pieces in my closet--I’ve just always wanted to try new things. I’ve already taken a step up from the plain old black and white outfits (though the last post would beg to differ, ha) by buying more colorful pieces so I thought adding a lot more prints to my closet would be my next step to adding pizzazz to my wardrobe.

All Good Things
Top: Zara | Pants: Zara | Shoes: Zara | Bag: Kate Spade
Top: Uniqlo | Dress: Harlan + Holden | Shoes: Zara | Bag: Kate Spade
I’ve been out of it for a while now so here’s two outfits in one post (because honestly can’t be bothered to write for two lol I’m sorry) and maybe a perfect ‘life lately’ update that I don’t think anyone cares about but wahey I’m doing it anyways!
Accomplished so much art-related stuff over the summer which includes a huge painting, a couple of hand painted denim jackets, and a hand painted shoe rack which I’ll be posting soon! (But follow me on instagram @ekasanmiguel to see them anyway *wink wink*)
Also got a lot of things in my mind lately, specifically a lot of ideas I want to bring to life and I’m about 95% sure I’m going to go through with it so stay tuned! That actually didn’t make much sense but hopefully it will soon lol
I’ve been binge watching RPDR (thanks to my cousin) and I’m OBSESSED. Specifically with Katya. I love Katya so much.
I also saw Crazy Rich Asians twice--one time with a friend, one time alone, and I’ve ugly cried both times. More so during the latter.
I’ve been trying really hard to save up and it’s been going really well lately considering I haven’t bought much over the past two months. That’s a huge achievement I promise.
I thoroughly enjoyed traveling and having my camera out over the summer because I just missed having it with me and taking photos of everything. Again, instagram for more *wink wink*
I recently got highlights for the first time and I’m in love with my new hairstyle. The last time I dyed my hair, it was a pretty bad experience considering how much damage the bleaching and coloring caused. My hair became sooo dry that I never wanted to color my hair ever again. But then my cousin convinced me to get highlights with her so I’ve been taking extra care of my hair lately and so far it’s been good. Switching my shampoo and conditioner really helped--I used to use Dove and had mad horrible falling hair so I switched to using L’Occitane, which is a bit pricey but super worth it. My hair isn’t as dry anymore, not as much fallout, and my curls have been showing up more naturally. It’s a yes from me.
Aaand I guess that’s pretty much it! Thank you for stopping by ♥

Singapore 2018
Two weeks ago, I went to Singapore with my mom, my sister, my titas and my cousins for one of my cousins’ masters graduation. We were there for only 3 days, and I’m going to be showing you in this post what we did on our trip!
We arrived in Singapore at around 9am in the morning, went directly to the hotel to check in, had lunch, then headed to Gardens By The Bay right away. Much like Hong Kong, Singapore has a really easy-to-navigate train system. We went around solely through the MRT and walking, and again like Hong Kong, we purchased a tourist card that allows you 3 days of unlimited MRT traveling for SGD30. We returned the card on the last day again and got SGD10 back. Super worth it!
First place we went to at Gardens By The Way was the Flower Dome. The moment we entered, my eyes lit up. My mom and I went absolutely crazy admiring and taking photos of everything. I got my love for flowers (or more specifically in my case, love of painting flowers) from my mom just as she got hers from my lola. We probably spent a good hour and a half covering every area and seeing different types of plants and flowers altogether. The whole place was just insanely beautiful.
After the flower dome, we went to the Cloud Forest which was, again, such a crazy beautiful place. I was completely in awe of the huge plant walls and waterfalls and the photos I took here are probably my favorite ones from the whole trip. The place just looked so ethereal.
We then went to see the Super Trees and intended to go to the bridge, but it was way too hot to do so so we decided against it. Still, the huge structures looked amazing from the ground. We walked around for a bit then decided to cross a bridge to Marina Bay Sands next.
After Marina Bay Sands, we made our way to the ArtScience Museum just right beside it where we saw two exhibits: Future World and the Marvel Studios exhibit for SGD20.
The next day, we went to Universal Studios as an afterthought--after our titas convinced us to do so. We were originally meant to tour around the city some more but I think we may have had more fun in Universal than the initial plan. Specifically, for me, because of Shrek Land. I mean, Far Far Away. (If you don’t already know, I LOVE Shrek. Not even slightly joking.)
We left Universal at around 4pm and headed to Clarke Quay for cake and coffee in one of the cafes. The place, I think, was more known for being a night area but we had our cousin’s celebratory dinner that night which meant we couldn’t stay.
On our third day, we killed time by going around Orchard Road where our hotel was, did a little bit of shopping, then headed to the airport in the afternoon.
We didn’t do much because of our limited time there, but I’m still so happy to see another foreign city. I had a blast bonding with relatives and my mom and sister as well. Singapore, you were amazing. ‘Til next time!

Hong Kong 2018 - Day 1
My friend Angela and I went to Hong Kong last July 14 and stayed there until the 17th. We’ve been wanting to travel together for so long and it’s still a little hard to believe our adventure actually commenced. In 3 separate posts, I’m going to tell you what we got ourselves into--the places we visited, how we got there, a lot of photos from the trip--basically the whole gist of our stay in Hong Kong.
First off, we booked a room at Holiday Inn Golden Mile, where my family and I stayed the first time we visited. My mom essentially wanted me to be in a place I was familiar with so she insisted on us staying there since we were traveling alone. The hotel was located in Tsim Sha Tsui, which is a really good place to stay. If you’re ever planning on visiting, I highly suggested booking a place around this area since it’s sort of the middle ground of all the tourist spots in Hong Kong.
How We Got There:
From the airport, we took the Airport Express train to Kowloon Station
Got off at Kowloon Station and rode shuttle bus K3 to Holiday Inn Golden Mile
Quick Tip: Purchase the MTR Airport Express 3 Day Pass for HKD350. It includes a round trip pass to the airport to use on your first and last day, and 3 days of unlimited travel on the MTR. It’s incredibly worth it since our sole mode of transport was through the MTR because of how easy you can get by with it. Also, when you get to the airport on your last day, you can return the card and get HKD50 back.
Top: Muji | Skirt: Undo Clothing | Bag: Longchamp | Sneakers: Adidas
Once we got to our hotel, we checked in but had to wait for our room to be ready for another 3 hours or so, so we left our bags to the concierge and explored around Nathan Road and Harbor City.
After we settled in our hotel room, we headed out to dinner and ate a whole ass roasted duck. Yes, we were that hungry. Then we went back and rested for a while, showered, and made our way to Central next. Initially, we planned on seeing the Symphony Lights show in a ferry at the harbor, but it started raining hard so we decided against it. Instead, we headed to Lan Kwai Fong in Central for a couple of drinks and ended up in this bar (I’m sorry I forgot the name) where all of the staff were Filipinos which was pretty cool.
How We Got There:
Rode the train from Tsim Sha Tsui Station to Central Station
Took exit D2
Walk along Theatre Lane and up D’Aguilar St.
That concluded our first day in Hong Kong! We wanted to stick around to watch the England vs. Belgium third place play-off in one of the bars around but we were both too knackered to push through. We got McDonald’s takeout and watched the game from our hotel room instead which was basically still a win.

Hong Kong 2018 - Day 2
Our 2nd day at Hong Kong was the busiest. We had planned to go to a lot of tourist spots as well as shopping spots so naturally we had to start early. Our first stop for our 2nd day was the Wong Tai Sin Temple. Because the temple opened at 7am, we opted to start our day there. Also, as soon as we left, people came flooding in so it was a really good idea we came early. The Wong Tai Sin Temple might have been one of my favorite places we visited. The temple was so detailed and filled with ornaments, and every corner was just so picturesque and filled with culture.
How We Got There:
Rode the train from Tsim Sha Tsui Station and took the MTR Tsuen Wan line
Got off at Mong Kok Station
Transfered to MTR Kwun Tung line
Got off at Wong Tai Sin Station
Took exit B3 and the temple is right above a flight of stairs we saw when we got out of the exit
Romper: Zara | Sneakers: Adidas | Bag: Longchamp
After we left Wong Tai Sin, we headed to Choi Hung Estate for the very famous colorful basketball court. I’ve seen this place in numerous instagram posts and a lot of photographers specifically go here for photoshoots (we actually encountered a fair few lookbook shoots when we were there) so I wanted to see it for myself. Unfortunately, the bad weather got to us as it started to drizzle when we got there. Nonetheless, we got some pretty nice pictures still and I’m glad we went.
How We Got There:
From Wong Tai Sin Station, rode the MTR to Choi Hung (2 stops)
Took exit C4
Walked about 5-7 minutes to Choi Hung Estate (used Google Maps to get there)
Look for the carpark once you enter which is at the left side, and the court is just above the carpark.
We then made our way to Nan Lian Garden and Chi Lin Nunnery. The garden had ponds that made the place look so peaceful and also had exhibits of Chinese timber architecture, rocks, and ceramics. The statues inside the temple halls of nunnery were just something else. Unfortunately, photos weren’t allowed as respect to the religion, but believe me when I say everything inside was breathtaking.
How We Got There:
Rode the train from Choi Hung Station to Diamond Hill (one stop after in the opposite direction)
Took exit C2 and followed the signs to Nan Lian Garden
After we’ve gone through half of the day, we went to Central again for lunch. We ate at Yat Lok restaurant and chowed down half a goose. Too much for us to handle, I admit, but still quite a feast. After, we walked around again and found a huge ass Zara store so naturally, we spent 2 hours in there without even realizing. Then, after a long time shopping, we headed to Oddies Foodies for a snack. I ordered the cookies and cream ice cream with chocolate chip cookies and cream cheese and believe me when I say it was the best thing I’ve ever had. Can somebody please make that ice cream combination here, please.
How We Got There:
Rode the train from Diamond Hill Station to Mong Kok
Switched to the Central line
Got off at Central Station
We went back to our hotel room after a long day, rested for a while, then went out again, this time to Mong Kok. They weren’t kidding when they said this was the place to be at night. The streets were filled with glowing street signs and there were people everywhere. We went around Fa Yuen Street aka Sneaker Street first then headed everywhere else from there.
How We Got There:
Rode the train from Tsim Sha Tsui station to Mong Kok station
Got off at Exit E2
Walked around from there

Hong Kong 2018 - Day 3 & 4
Dress: Zara | Shoes: Adidas | Bag: Longchamp
For our 3rd day in Hong Kong, we allotted half of the day in Disneyland (got there before 10am, then left at around 4pm) because we initially wanted to go to Ikea after then watch the Symphony Lights show on a ferry. We got to go to Ikea but then we missed the lights show again because we miscalculated the time--the ferry left at 7:55pm everyday, we had spaghetti and meatballs in Ikea instead which was also a delight. We only had four days in Hong Kong so we naturally just tried to go to as many places as we can, which meant compromising our time in Disneyland. Because Sleeping Beauty’s castle was under construction, too, there wasn’t going to be a fireworks show anyway so we decided to leave early. Nonetheless, we fully enjoyed our time there and I was as happy as I was 2 years ago, when it was my first time. Angela and I had an absolute blast going around, which was pretty evident from the sunburns we acquired (lol).
How We Got There:
Walked to the East Tsim Sha Tsui Station a few minutes from Holiday Inn Golden Mile
Rode the train bound to Tuen Mun
Got off at Name Cheong and switched to the Tung Chung line
Got off at Sunny Bay and switched to the Disneyland train just right across the platform
Another thing to stress is that the Flights of Fantasy parade is just so heartwarming. The first time I saw it, I nearly cried and this time wasn’t any different. Seeing my favorite childhood characters in such beautiful floats just put a smile on my face throughout the whole thing.
On our last day, we rode the Peak Tram going up Victoria Peak and marveled at Hong Kong’s urban view.
How We Got There:
Rode the train at Tsim Sha Tsui bound to Central
Got off at Central Station
Took the J2 exit
Followed the signs to the Peak Tram
Rode the tram to Victoria Peak
We left at around 8am and got back to the hotel at around 10am before we had to check out. After we checked out, we left our bags at the hotel again and walked around Tsim Sha Tsui for dumplings and find more pasalubong.
Dress: Zara | Shoes: Adidas | Bag: Longchamp
It was definitely such an incredible experience to travel abroad with a friend, and I’m sure as hell this isn’t going to be the last time we’re going to get to do this. Angela and I have been dreaming of traveling together and I’m still kind of surprised our parents agreed to let us. Hong Kong is definitely a place I’d be coming back to more often mostly because of how easy it is to get around and there’s definitely a lot of things to do and places to go to that four days just wasn’t enough!

Let It Be
Dress: Zara | Shoes: Aldo | Bag: The Sak
So this post has been rotting in my drafts for about a month now mainly because--again--I have no idea what to write it with. I began to think about what I really want this blog to be, which right now is specifically for showing my love for clothes and random thoughts that pop up in the moment mashed into one post. I’ve been promising--for God knows how long--new and different content but I just can’t wrap my mind around the right ones. I’ve tried writing and curating posts other than outfits and blurbs for so long but they never actually leave my drafts because of how they don’t really fit or aren’t good enough--which inevitably brings me back to what makes me comfortable: word vomits completely irrelevant to pictures of myself in outfits I like. I always have been so afraid to step out of my comfort zone when it comes to just about anything, really, which is one of the main reasons why I don’t progress. Creating content is such an important thing for me not just because of being active online and making a presence in the internet but also because it’s all I’ve ever known doing. I’ve been blogging for about 6 years now and you have no idea how frustrating it is to not progress, but I’ve said it again and again to myself--trust the process. Let things be and just keep on creating. Do whatever it is you enjoy not for any other person except yourself. I’ve probably already said all of this before (because let’s face it--ranting about progress is now my forte) but every once in a while I have to remind myself of these things and what better way to do that than to actually write them down.
This is also my third post this week and even though all three are practically the same as my other posts--I’m still giving myself a pat on the back for publishing all of them.

Color
Top: Zara | Jeans: Vintage Levi’s | Bag: Kate Spade | Shoes: Zara
I’ve been trying to make my closet more diverse lately and one of the main changes for that is adding a bit more of wild colors here and there. So far, I’ve managed to cop this red top and sandals, a very purple shift dress, a wildly orange romper and some cobalt blue trousers. I went through a small phase in the summer where everything I shopped for was either white or kind-of-white. I dreamed of an all-white closet that exuded class and elegance but now, more and more I’ve realized how impractical that was for me considering a) I’m a sloppy eater, which I concluded from watching Ant-Man and The Wasp yesterday--there was cheese powder everywhere, and b) my options from when it would be that time of the month would be extremely limited. So far, I’ve been loving each bright colored piece because of how a pop of color could liven up a whole outfit and make it a little bit different. Also, I’ve been obsessed with Queer Eye and I just want to make Tan France proud.

Sun-Kissed
Jumpsuit: Studio 17 | Shoes: Toms
As some of you might know by now (due to my incessant raving about it) I am so obsessed with linen lately. It’s the best summer (or what’s left of it) trend so far and I’m absolutely living for it. More specifically, I’m so in love with this linen jumpsuit from Studio 17. I would honestly wear this everyday if I could and it’s really just one of my favorite pieces in my closet right now. I was also supposed to film/shoot a lookbook while we were in Bohol with all the outfits I carefully planned (yes, it’s kind of an obsession now) but with me being me, I completely forgot *insert shrug emoji*. So, at least here’s one outfit from the trip!
I’ve also got a few outfit posts lined up in my drafts which is weirdly good and bad--good because yay content! but also kind of bad because I honestly don’t know what to do with them that’s why they’re still there in the first place--so I might be posting more in the next few days if I get everything together!

Bohol 2018
We had our annual family beach trip in Bohol just last week and the trip was really an amazing way to escape gloomy Manila. The beginning of it, though, was not as exciting. After we boarded the aircraft to Tagbilaran, we were informed that they were having technical issues with the plane and asked a mechanic to come up and fix it, which could possibly be the worst thing you can hear when you’re about to go on a flight. It took a while--about an hour and a half I think--and when they were just about done with the ‘issues’, we were pushed to an inexact schedule on the runway so we were asked to get ready to deplane. Just as they said that, the pilot spoke up again to say that we weren’t actually going to deplane now as they just gave them a go for departure. Soooo, 3 hours in a stationary plane later, we finally left Manila for Bohol.
It was pouring hard when we left Manila but when we arrived in Bohol, there was nothing but sun. We stayed at the Bellevue Resort which was really just one of the best places we’ve ever stayed in. The resort was in a more secluded part of the island compared to the tons of other resorts in Bohol. The service was great, the view was great, the food was exceptional, and the beachfront + pool was just amazing. If you’re ever planning on going to this lovely island, I highly recommend booking at Bellevue.
We arrived at the resort at around 1pm, then had late lunch at the resort’s restaurant. We then settled in for a while then spent the rest of the afternoon on the beach with a couple of large halo halos in hand. We also went on this viewing dock that was in the middle of the water through floating platform and I shit you not, it was probably one of the scariest things ever. 1) The platform was not stable at all so it kept rocking back and forth, and 2) if you fall, the water in that area was pretty deep and the floor was covered in sea urchins--I mean, probably not the best place to put a floating platform but once you get to the viewing dock, it’s absolutely perfect.
The next day, we booked for a day tour. One of the places we went to was Baclayon Church, which is considered to be one of the oldest churches in the Philippines. An earthquake struck Bohol about 5 years ago in which the Baclayon Church was shattered. Now, the church has been fully restored and I was in absolute awe of how beautiful it was. The paintings on the ceilings, the moldings on the walls, and the extremely ornamented altar reminded me so much of European churches--it was just so beautiful.
After that, we went to the Tarsier Sanctuary next where they kept a number of the small primates. They were really just about the size of one span and definitely one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen. I really wish their species would be well taken care of.
We then ate lunch at the floating restaurant in Loboc River that was accompanied by a buffet in the center of the floating hut and live performances by a singer on board and stations where locals perform as a choir and dance the tinikling.
Our next stop was the man-made forest in Bilar, which was an array of beautiful mahogany trees on the side of the road. First photo of the forest is my favorite photo from this entire trip.
And finally, we went up a steep climb of steps to view the famous Chocolate Hills from the top. This was the last stop of our day tour and we headed back to the resort in the middle of the afternoon which still gave us some time to lounge on the beachfront again before the sunset. For dinner, we went to Alona beach which strongly resembled a Boracay beachfront.
On our third day, we went to Balicasag Island and saw a couple of huge sea turtles and fish sanctuaries. We were meant to see dolphins first, but the waves that morning were really strong that we had to go straight to Balicasag instead. Still, on the way to the island, the waves were stronger but we eventually made it there safely.
After that, we went to the Virgin Island to eat, where there was an array of food vendors selling grilled seafood along the sand bar. We bought our meals then ate at the boat, then went right back to swimming along the sand bar after. By the time we left, we were exhausted so we rested up at the resort again until dinner.
On our last day, we spent the morning at Isola di Francesco where we just swam around the island, then headed to a snorkeling spot again to see little fishes and a lot of corals.
Before noon, we headed back to the hotel to shower and check out then went to The Bee Farm restaurant for lunch, and finally headed straight to the airport and back to Manila.
And that concludes our trip to Bohol! I can’t stress enough how much I needed to get away even for just 4 days. It was so refreshing to be back at the beach and I’m so grateful that the trip turned out really great. I had an amazing time with my family as always and I’m definitely looking forward to the next one!

Summer
Shirt: Uniqlo | Dress: Zara
I’ve been wanting to be more productive ever since the semester ended but honestly the heat is making it difficult to do anything other than sit and--forgive me but it’s true--sweat in front of the fan all day (lol there’s always an excuse). I do have tons of things in mind to do over the summer and I’m really nervous about not getting to do them all. Of course, there are stuff in the list that are bound to be things I really can’t do over the course of two months and I really shouldn’t think about it too much but I just can’t help it! Not getting to accomplish even just half of the things I want to accomplish would be another failure on time management and productivity in my part and I honestly do want to do a lot of things simultaneously but my brain just keeps on saying, “do this!!” “Or this!!!” “No, you haven’t finished this yet, do this one!!!” And I end up with accomplishing nothing at all. So, in this episode of ‘Eka feeling sorry for herself’, I’ve learned to just chill and take one step at a time *cue Jordin Sparks.* Bit cliche, I know, but it’s the best I could give you. You really have to think of one moment at a time in order to get things done. Leaving things unfinished to start on another one just keeps your focus astray. I mean, that’s just me--of course, people have different ways of creating and fueling their creativity, you just have to find your own way on how to approach the process.

Life Lately
Haven’t done one of these for the longest time sooo here it is!
Been wanting to practice photography a lot more so I’m trying to take more pictures and videos (if any of my friends are reading this--if y’all want to support this cause please let me shoot you!! Hmu)
Also want to make art and learn about art this summer
I want to make as many oil paintings as possible
I’ve also stacked up on art books to read. I still haven’t actually read any of them but I’m working on that! Might start with The Story of Art this week!
Going to have our annual family beach trip next weekend and I’m honestly sooo excited. I miss the beach so much and I also bought a shit ton of swimsuits sooo
That’s one of the three short trips we’ve booked this summer (supposedly four trips but the last one overlapped with the second one so I won’t be able to go *cry*)
I also want to experiment painting on clothes but not a single store in manila has a damn tube of white acrylic paint
I’ve been obsessing over crime and mystery shows on Netflix lately. I’ve watched Manhunt: Unabomber, Evil Genius, and Safe so far. Recommend more please!
Netflix is taking over my life and taking away my productivity. I literally watch about 3-4 movies a day. Help.
Tried ukay shopping last week and oh man I think I’m about to get addicted. I bought 2 items at Anonas the first time then 7 at Makati Cinema Square. Haul video soon hopefully! *plugs youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/ekasanmiguel* subscribe pls
Next time, I’ll try to find more stuff I can DIY and paint over and hopefully be all flea market flip on that shit
Again, if any of my friends are reading this please message me to go ukay shopping and I’m there
I’m so excited for June and July movies!! Ocean’s 8!! The Incredibles 2!! Ant-Man and The Wasp!! Mission Impossible 6!! Mamma Mia 2!!

Recent Paintings
I’ve always used painting as a hobby than anything else but in the past year, it has been more of an escape whenever I needed an outlet to let loose. It’s become somewhat therapeutic for me every time I work on a piece and even more after I see myself slowly improving. Seeing paintings turn out the way I wanted them to fueled the drive I’ve had in the past couple of months to create and I felt like I could’ve painted flowers and faces forever. Shown above are all the recent paintings I’ve finished in the past year and I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come and the progress I’ve made since I first started getting into painting--but of course, there’s still and always will be room for more improvement so please don’t hesitate to tell me what you think!

Lost
Top: Zara | Jeans: H&M | Shoes: Charles & Keith | Jacket: Guess
I’ve been struggling to keep this blog up mainly because 1) I usually have zero things to write about even though I’ve got a couple of (now rejected) outfit posts in my drafts, 2) I’ve been struggling to actually make the ideas I have for blog posts because either things get in the way or I’m just plain lazy, and 3) I’m currently focusing more on making art and youtube videos rather than blog posts. I’m not exactly the best when it comes to keeping this site in check and most of the time (most probably even at the moment) I’m overthinking it too much. I started this blog in the first place to express myself through clothes and words--and although I still love dressing up and all, it’s the ‘expressing through words’ bit that’s kind of holding me off of creating more content.
Well, I’m just about done with this semester so I have a lot of time in my disposal to figure things out in terms of where I want this blog to go. Nope, not quitting--not exactly an option because I still love doing this whole thing--just more on thinking of new ideas and actually getting the willpower and motivation to do them. So, hopefully, I’d have more new content soon!

Personal Dressing
Top: Zara | Pants: Zara | Bag: Kate Spade
I’m kind of in a weird position with my personal style lately. I’ve cleared out almost half of my closet in the past few months because I didn’t feel like most of those pieces represented who I was and how I really wanted to dress like. Impulsively, I tend to buy a lot of plain shirts which come in handy most of the time but just end up in a big pile of clothes I don’t really use anymore because they tend to look too casual. Lately, I’ve been investing on more wearable clothes that could be casual with the right pieces and a little formal or decent enough with other pieces. Great example is the top I’m wearing here--where with these pants look more smart casual but with denim jeans or shorts could look more casual casual. I’ve been so paranoid of what I wear lately half because of my natural insecure self (lol) and half because of how I want to stick to a particular style I can call my own. My closet now is slowly transitioning to a happy place of cute clothes I can grab and go without looking like a carrot and I’m almost at ease with how it’s looking. I must admit, though, it took a hell of a lot of impulsive online shopping to get there. Some I really regret, some I champion over.

Down Time
Dress: Lola & Daisies | Jacket: Guess
For all the months I’ve been crazy busy and too occupied with school, I genuinely forgot how good it is to spend a day away with my family. I’m telling you--it felt so damn good. I was finally able to breathe freely because of the one week off and to top that off, we spent an unwinding day at Tagaytay, making random decisions and going to random places as we go. Of course, first stop for breakfast had to be Breakfast at Antonio’s which meant a different and much prettier shoot place than Greenbelt (lol)
For once in a very long time, I’m slowly feeling myself function properly. Ever since the year started, I had the strongest urge to create and keep creating, but I struggled to create something I was massively proud of. But I guess that’s a good thing--this way, I just keep on making things and keep on learning from them to improve on the next one. I’m currently working on a painting that’s 20″ x 20″ big and I’m honestly so excited to get back home and work on it some more. I’m also spending more time with my friends and just enjoying being a twenty-year-old. Granted, last time didn’t go so well because I experienced being blackout drunk for the very first time--which was absolutely not fun, please don’t do it (okay maybe do it a lil)--but still quite an experience. I’m also looking forward to summer vacation so I can do more and accomplish more because I’ve got so much ideas floating around my brain and I just can’t wait to execute them. Ever since thesis, I slowly lost the will to keep thriving and I completely felt all burnt out. But now, for the first time in months, I can finally say I feel good--about myself and about my craft.
Well, that’s basically me lately. Peek the Tagaytay day out with my family below!
