Behold, Corona Arch! I was nearly unsuccessful with this shot as I put too much faith into my off-brand battery. I only got a few shots off when my camera died. I believe this was at sunrise, with the sun just barely hitting the top of the plateau in the far distance. The sun takes a lot of time to eventually hit the arch, so the sky is fully lit up by the time it gets there. I thought this weird pattern on the wall to the right was really cool, like tiger stripes, leading towards a massive arch. If you thought Delicate arch was big, this one makes it looks small. For reference, that boulder down to the left is as tall as me, maybe even a little taller. 0.o

Classic photo of Turret Arch through the Windows arch at Arches NP. This was my first trip to the arches with my camera, This shot was a little scary, I was laying belly-down on this rock here with a 20 foot drop just in front of me and on either side. I didn’t use a tripod, I just set my camera down right onto the rock and propped it up straight using the lens cap! I had to be patient to get a shot without anyone in it, but somehow I managed to get exactly what I needed. love the sun bouncing off the inside of the arch. The arches are a magical place and I look forward to my return.
