Midnight Horror’s Music Masterpost
Mili- Gertrauda (the song with a secret meaning)
This song fit perfectly with the prologue as it has a fantasy vibe to it and at the same time it’s sung in a language that doesn’t exist. It uses the bases of both Latin and Ukrainian. Nobody knows the real meaning behind it except for Mili.
Narumi-Gravity (Chapter 1)
I thought this song would be fitting for the start of a story like this (especially as it is based of a specific video-game genre) It’s soft but gets faster and more intense as it goes.
Mili-Rightfully A song about reclaiming what is yours (Chapter 2 )
this song has some pretty interesting Lyrics. there’s a part where that says “No fairness is needed for pigs” and it talks about reclaiming something that was originally theirs. This is pretty much the way that Demetrius sees his love towards Hermia (the love being something that belongs to him, and the pig being Helena and Lysander.)
A nostalgic dream - Peter Gundry (Chapter 3)
this song states Lysander’s downfall pretty well. Aside from the name it’s a soothing piece of music that fits pretty well with the dreaming theme
Mili - Bathtub Mermaid (Piano version) (Chapter 4)
This describes Helena’s character and her love towards Demetrius pretty well. She degrades herself for the sake of the love that she feels for him and would even be capable of hurting herself just for the sake of seeing him happy. (A toxic and dependent type of love)
Utopiosphere - Mili (A world that seems perfect) (Chapter 5)
Describes how Lysander and Hermia confine themselves in a bubble where they believe they can do anything for the sake of love. Thinking that once they escape, their world can become an utopia
Marigold - M2U & NICODE (Chapter 6)
Marigolds represent light, enlightenment and a new beginning
M2U X NICODE - Stellar (Chapter 7)
Just the general vibe that the song gives off is similar to what Helena is feeling. Her moods go from sweet and soft to something more intense and fast.
Mili - Fable (Chapter 8)
The name of the song stands for what Hermia and Lysander both are going through. Lysander’s peacefulness and serenity come from a state of lucidness in dreams while whatever Hermia sees with her own two eyes seems like only a fable to Lysander.
Bathtub Mermaid - Mili *umber cover* (Chapter 9 )
It is the same as Helena’s song back in chapter 4, the big difference being that it is now sing by a male. The roles have been reversed and now this is how Demetrius feels. He is quite literally observing the world through her eyes.
Mili - With a Billion Worldful of Love (Chapter 11)
Helates to Helena’s growth and view of love. She would always wish to be loved by Demetrius and she wished to be the one who gave him strength. As time passed, she realized that in that life it would be impossible for them to love each other truly, so she gives up in the hopes of them being able to do so in their next life.
Mili - Boys In Kaleidosphere (Chapter 12)
The protagonists in the song had a forbidden love for each other. One of them was killed by the Jabberwocks that lived in that world. As the other jumped off with the corpse in his arms he said “If we get another life I hope we’re not human at all” Then, they are both reincarnated and able to love each other
That is similar to Hermia’s last wish

Chapter 13
M2U - Magnolia
Hermia and Lyssander laid on a patch of grass where flowers bloomed. The morning came about as Helena wandered about. She carried Demetrius’s head in her hands as No light or hope remained in her eyes. She cried as she was finally reunited with the “sleeping” bodies of Lysader and Hermia, her beloved friends. She laid on a similar patch of land and closed to her eyes only to be sucked into an infinite dream, she would sleep happily alongside the people whom she loved the most.
And so, they rested peacefully for all eternity as the faeries laughed.
THE END.

Chapter 12 - Hermia
Mili - Boys In Kaleidosphere
Lysander’s grip just kept getting stronger and stronger. The disturbing hallucinations just kept coming back over and over again. For a moment, she could see how Lysander’s eyes were spilling maggots but as soon as she blinked the terrifying images just disappeared into the air.
She didn’t know if Lysander was really chocking her or if it was one of her illusions. The hing she wanted most was for all of this to stop. No days had passed, but she was extremely tired. It felt as she hadn’t been able to sleep for days. She should have never tried to run away from home, she should have listened to her father.
This would be the end of her. Her vision was getting blurry and the pain of getting choked became unbearable, but nothing was greater than the heartache she felt as she was being killed by the one person who swore love to her.
- If we get another life, I hope we’e not born as humans. That way, things wouldn’t be so complicated.
And with that, she took one last breath.

Chapter 11 - Helena / Demetrius
Mili - With a Billion Worldful of Love
Helena ran with all the strength she had left in her. The tables had been turned- but not in a good way. Although she wished her loved Demetrius to see things through her eyes, she never thought she would be at the other end of the stick.
In his current state, Demetrius terrified her. His sanity seemed to wander elsewhere and everything that was left in him was love and rage. He was a living contradiction.
As she ran throughout the forest she kept looking back, he seemed to be catching up to her.. He was clearly stronger than her, and their physical conditions had no match against each other, he would instantly win. Maybe if she tried confronting him, she could reason with him.
Helena grabbed a stick and hid it behind her back as Demetrius approached.
He seemed even worse than before. His eyes only reflected rage and discordance. He stopped chasing her only after being uncomfortably close. He grabbed one of Helena’s hands with a firm grip
- Demetrius, you are hurting me. Can’t we just talk about it?
- Talk about what? Isn’t this what you always wanted? I don’t care for Hermia anymore, I only want you Helena.
- This is not right, you are nothing like the Demetrius I love. Please get away from me
- I won’t let you go that easily. If you don’t love me anymore, i’ll make you.
- You can’t make anyone love you Demetrius, that’s not how love works
Demetrius pounced over Helena as she tried to struggle out of his grip. His mind was set: If Helena could not love him as he did for her, then she had no right to breathe and learn to love anyone. She did not have the right to live. After all, It was because of her that they were even stuck in this situation in the first place.
That’s when Helena took action and buried the stick she had taken earlier right into the nape of his neck.
- I’m sorry. If we ever get to live again, I hope we can learn to love each other properly.. or maybe we were never in love in the first place.

Chapter 10 - Lysander
He had been pulled into another sweet state of relaxation. The sweet feeling of nothing was really the best for him. He enjoyed feeling all of his thoughts flowed out of his head and evaporated into nothingness. If it were up to him, he would remain asleep for the rest of eternity.
Was it really worth continuing with this charade? Maybe if Hermia’s father wanted her to marry Demetrius it was for a specific reason. He thought about how he would have to walk so much whenever he woke up and it just seemed like something that would be painfully tedious.
Anyhow, images started playing through his head like a dream. He watched but he could not move or control his body through his own will. At this point everything was running in a sort of auto-pilot mode.
In this dream, Hermia kept disturbing him many times, but he was so deep into this trance state to even care. Nothing mattered anymore at all.
Every time he would be disturbed, he just seemed to fall deeper into the state until finally, his own arms stretched towards her in the shape of a hug.
He hugged her in a funny way, his hands wrapped around softly around her neck. “Hugging” tighter and tighter as she moved around happily.
But .. He couldn’t feel it

Chapter 9 - Demetrius
Bathtub Mermaid - Mili *umber cover*
He ran around aimlessly, chasing the shadow of Helena, trying his best to catch up to her. The closer he got, the clearer he could see her, and the more he followed her the louder he could hear her.
After a while he finally stood in front of a clearing. There was a small lake in front of him. This time, the image of Helena would not move. She just sat there, laughing frantically.
The sight of her like this sendt shivers down his spine, but something was calling him towards her. as he got closer she turned around and got up. the look in her face was something he could feel he would remember for the rest of his life. She looked like a running maniac, but most importantly her face was full of wounds. As she got closer he noticed how one of her eyes was a different color. It was the same color of his eyes... no, he could swear that was his eye. but that was just a crazy thought. The pain in his eye came back, the only difference was that the pain had suddenly shifted to the other side of his face. he only wanted to scream at her.
- WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME HELENA?
- I haven’t done anything yet Demetrius. But I should have a long time ago. Tell me, why don’t you notice that you love ME not HER.
- What are you talking about Helena? You’re crazy. Get away from me. If you get any closer I won’t have any other option but to hurt you.
- I don’t mind if you hurt me as long as i’m the one you’re looking at. Hurt me all you want, I won’t be bothered.
As Demetrius turned around to escape, the pain in his left eye intensified. He dropped to the ground once again as he groaned in pain. Something was different this time... It was as if his mind was being split. The headache made him numb to everything else around him. And finally the pain stopped.
He turned around to see the beautiful Helena, something was different about her. She seemed terrified of him, but she still looked beautiful under the pale moonlight. How did he not notice her beauty before? She looked like an angel, and though he felt as he loved her, he still felt raging anger towards her.
That’s when Helena started running

Chapter 8 - Hermia
Mili - Fable
As she was being hugged by Lysander, she noticed how quickly he fell asleep. He seemed to be very tired. Perhaps that meant that she too should go to sleep soon. It was really strange, before being woken by the disappearance of her lover, she could have sworn she slept for so many hours but it was still nighttime . The moon was still up and it just didn’t seem it wanted to make any space for the sun to come out. She laid on her lover’s lap as she closed her eyes and tried to sleep. Just when she was about to fall into sleep, she heard leaves rattling aggressively. She opened her eyes to check what was avoiding her from resting. She was petrified. At first it looked like a man, but the closer he got, the more she could see his deformities. Whatever was in front of her, was not a human being. The thing in front of her just seemed to be an animal made out of human flesh. It started taking steps towards her. It just seemed so fragile but dangerous at the same time. Its bones would just seem to break with each step it took towards her. When it couldn’t walk anymore, it started crawling while groaning louder and louder. Hermia got up and tried waking up Lysander with all of her might, but it just seemed so much harder than last time. When he finally woke up, he seemed to be a little angry at her.
As she looked towards the direction where the abomination came from, there was nothing. Had she imagined it all? No, it couldn’t be.
- Lysander, I swear there was something there.
- What are you talking about? Come on, you’re just tired. Go back to sleep. We’ll talk about it in the morning
- No wait, i’m....
Before being able to finish her sentence, Lysander fell into a deep sleep again.

Chapter 7 - Helena
M2U X NICODE - Stellar
As she lamented her situation, she felt an intense shock of pain on her right eye. She screamed as she tried to rip it off. this pain was so unbearable that she’d much rather go blind for the rest of her life than continuing to withstand that pain. Her nails were covered in blood and chunks of flesh as the pain stopped. Maybe she was going insane? Once it stopped, it only seemed as the pain was never there to begin with.
A sense of dread went through her whole spine. Something so sudden and illogical could not be explained at all. What crime had she committed in a past life to deserve this punishment?
Even with what had just happened, she knew she had to return home. It was getting late and it was not safe for a lady to be in the woods at those hours. The only problem- was that she couldn’t seem to remember where she even came from. As sacred as she was, this was not the moment to cower. She made it a goal of hers to find Demetrius and have him take her home. The trees seemed to open up a path for her in a split second, that;s exactly where she decided to start searching. The path only kept leading her to land she had never seen before. Her adventure was cut short when there was no more land she could follow, but only a small lake in front of her. She was starting to get thirsty and the water seemed clear enough to drink. As she got on her knees and pulled herself closer to the water, the moonlight and the still water showed her reflection. Her face was scratched all the way to the right. If Demetrius were to see her, he would surely think she was hideous. But- there was something peculiar about her. Something that wasn’t right. Her right eye, was not her own. No, not at all. In fact, It was Demetrius’s eye on her face.
For some odd reason, joy filled her heat as she possessed something so precious. She could always have a hold of something so unique- the best memoir of her love. The best gift she could ever wish for. A small laugh escaped her lips, it seemed as she couldn’t stop. The more she laughed, the louder she got.

Chapter 6 - Demetrius
Marigold - M2U & NICODE
As he wondered through the forest for hours, he realized he was lost. Hermia and Lysander were most probably far away, only Heavens could know where they could be. Maybe they weren’t even at the forest all along? That could explain why Helena didn’t want him going into the forest.
Thinking about it was futile at this point. Complaining wouldn’t really change his situation. If they were willing to go this far to be together, maybe it was best for him back off. Even if he tried with all his might, trying to control Hermia only turns out to make the situation worse.
When they were little, he had developed a crush for her. But as they grew up she found someone she personally liked. He thought everything was going alright until his friend Lysander found love in her too. He tried desperately to appeal to Hermia’s father. He tried his best for years until her father budged and promised him his daughter’s hand. Just when he had her in his grasp, she was swayed by no other than the one who had taken her first. He tried replacing her with Helena (who seemed desperate enough) but she ended up falling in love with him.
He sat down as an intense pain struck his right eye. He held half of his face as he felt as if his eye were being pierced by a thick needle. A mix of tears and blood rolled down his cheek and hand as he screamed in agony. After a while, the pain stopped. He breathed heavily as he tried to catch his breath once again. A slight wave of pain passed though his head. Helena was at fault, if she only had kept her mouth shut none of this would be happening.
It was then when Demetrius started seeing reflections of Helena around the trees. He ran towards them but they seemed to disappear as soon as he was about to reach them. His eye ached as his thoughts only focused on the whereabouts of Helena. No matter how many times she disappeared before his eyes, he would keep on following her until she got tired and stopped. he needed to confront her once again.
- I promise I will find you, you wrenched maiden

Chapter 5 - Lysander
Utopiosphere - Mili (A world that seems perfect)
Lysander was woken up by an intense pain in his cheek. When he finally opened his eyes he realized two things: one, he was not in the same place he had originally fallen asleep in. The second thing: Hermia has slapped him. Tears filled her eyes as confusion arose on his side.
- Why are you crying darling?
- How could you ever do that to me?
- What are you talking about Hermia?
- Don’t play innocent you.. ass! You left me all alone. As soon as I fell asleep you took the first opportunity to leave me. Are you trying to scare me?
- Hermia.. I don’t know what you’re talking about. I swear on my life and our love that I just fell asleep. I don’t really remember anything else. You have to believe me, please?
He hugged Hermia softly in an attempt to conform her. Maybe he had been sleepwalking? Although it was the first time anything like this happened to him , it was still a possibility. After all it had been a really stressful day for them both. In the midst of the hug, he started losing feeling of his fingertips. This feeling extended through the rest of his body until consuming him completely and dragging him into another deep sleep.

Chapter 4 - Helena
Mili - Bathtub Mermaid (Piano version)
Had she been to late? Helena stood in the edge of the forest as she prepared to lurk in. She could have sworn she heard Demetrius’s voice coming from that same direction, but he was no-where to be found.
- Demetrius, are you there?
She asked loudly but with no reply back. She knew that even if he were there, he would never respond to her calling. That’s when she realized that there was no way of getting him back unless she caught up to him. Although she was scared, she took a long steps towards the forest of faeries.
She wandered about for hours on end. On every turn and behind every tree she could see Demetrius’s silhouette, but every time she caught up to it, he just seemed to disappear and reappear on the next turn. She truly believed that it was him trying to play a trick on her. He surely had found Hermia and now wanted to scare her away, but in her eyes this was truly the most cruel joke anyone could play on someone.
- Please Demetrius, show yourself if you’re man enough. I’m terrified, why won’t you help me now? Do you enjoy this?
But then again, there was no response. Helena dropped to her knees as tears filled her eyes. She never thought a man could be this cruel. She sat in a tree trunk as her legs were staring to get numb from all the walking.
- Love makes one truly blind. How can I love someone so despicable? And how can HE love someone who loves him not so? Why won’t he wake up and realize just how much I love him? Oh Demetrius… what should I do with you? If you could only see things from my perspective you would definitely fall in love with me, right?
Reflections of her unrequited love moved around her in circles. She could hear Demetrius’s voice calling out to her over and over again. Was it her imagination or was it really him? Her legs had already given in, she couldn’t get up and follow him again. For what? To lead herself astray?
Different thoughts rushed over to her head. She wasn’t the one who was lost. It was Demetrius! Yes, in fact, he just needs someone to guide him to her arms. He wasn’t in love with Hermia, not at all. This poor gentleman was only lost.
And so… Helena’s mind was then filled with nothing but junk

Chapter 3 - Lysander
A nostalgic dream - Peter Gundry
Hermia and Lysander has been walking for what had seemed like hours.
- Hermia , it’s getting pretty late. We still have some way to go.. should we look for a place to settle in for tonight?
- Yeah, I guess you’re right. What do you have in mind?
- Maybe we could use that spot over there. There aren’t many rocks and it’s well hidden with the trees. If somebody comes looking for us, they will most probably not be able to find us.
- Okay…
- Oh it’s getting cold. You should use my jacket so you can remain warm for tonight. I wouldn’t want you getting sick before we arrive to my auntie’s place.
- Thanks Lysander, you really are the best.
Lysander watched Hermia as she found a spot where she could rest for the night. Although he wanted to lay beside her, he believed that the best thing he could do is give her space. After all, she is running away from her home. He knew how much she loved her father (even if he wouldn’t listen to her feelings most of the time) and how painful this could be for her. He put his feelings behind him and laid right underneath a tree
- Good night Hermia
He said as he fell into a deep sleep, not knowing about what dreams would come. All he stood in was white nothingness. He couldn’t feel anything at all. He panicked for a moment ,just until he realized that he had been sucked into a dream. Although he tried to and use this time for his advantage, it seemed like every possible thought just leaked out of his mind. It felt good to be relaxed for once, in fact, why not stay like this for a while? The more he tried to think, the more he began to forget any problems, any actions, any movement. Everything was perfect- until he felt some pain on his cheek accompanied with loud scorns.

Chapter 2 - Demetrius
Mili-Rightfully A song about reclaiming what is yours
- Demetrius listen to me. I’m telling you the truth. Hermia and Lysander plan to escape together. She doesn’t love you. She belongs with Lysander. Stop this nonsense once it for all. If you let me, I’ll fill in her place, please.
- I don’t need to hear any more from you. Why won’t you understand that I don’t love you? But.. if what you say is true I have to stop them.
- Are you crazy? Please tell me you haven’t heard about the legends about that place.
- Yes I have, but it’s only legends. Do you really believe in faeries? Let me guess.. you also believe in the Easter bunny?
- That’s not it… I’m just trying-
- Trying to get in my pants? That’s not happening
Demetrius stormed away as Helena’s eyes filled with tears. He went home to prepare for his quest in the night. His mind was filled with nothing but anger towards the happy couple. The thought of a rejection this big was nothing to him but a humiliation- and that was something they would pay. Not only would he catch them in the middle of their rendezvous, he would avoid their future together. He didn’t care about the consequences.
The dreaded moment came at the first hours of night. Just when the sun had set, he stood in front of the forest as he gazed at the forest’s entrance. There was of course, a trail that guided one into it, but it stopped after just about a mile. He knew that if he hurried up, he might have a change to find them, but there was always the possibility of them going astray from the path in order to not be found. At this point there was no turning back. As the trees towered over him, he entered and walked onward.
