Midsomer daemons

I’m in the Tom and Ben era so unfortunately John and the other DS’s will have to wait while I get the middle seasons!

Tom Barnaby: a grey tabby called Norah. All the Barnaby men have dog daemons, but Tom always was a bit different. She slinks along at his heels, cautiously stepping around bodies, speaking very little.

Joyce Barnaby: a song bird called Pip. Pleasant as his partner, Pip has a variety of opinions on a variety of things, and one Tom Barnaby can often find himself on the other end of an angry flap of wings once he’s missed a dinner too many.

Cully Barnaby: a hare called Emmet. She often had her daemon take the form of a cat like her father’s, a calico, but as she grew older she liked the soft comfort of the hare, and his silent steps. Cautious, Emmet notices most everything, even while Cully pretends not to.

Gavin Troy: a swallow called Sam. Flighty, excitable, rather unbalanced when it comes to flight. Sam keeps her partner in check, nipping at his ear when she thinks he should be silent, being just as bad when she thinks they should both have a say.

Daniel Scott: a door mouse called Talis. While her partner is a bit on a cocky side, Talis represents the parts of Dan that stay cool under pressure. More often than not, she’s found nesting under the collar of his suit coat, coming out only when something interests her.

Ben Jones: an cocker spaniel called Frida. Loyal almost to a fault the both of them. She speaks her mind, but knows when the back off. She pushes Ben always to ask for a bit more and step just a bit further, at the start. Suspicious of those she considers not good enough to spend time with her partner.
