My first menstrual blood painting. I did this to become more intimate with my innate power as a woman and as a witchcraft practitioner. This process was healing beyond words and I would encourage everyone who bleeds once a month to turn your blood into art. This piece is a whole new level of personal, as I have also encoded it using my very own sigils. There is lots to say about menstrual blood and how it is linked astrologically. It's not about 1 day of mental health openness. It's about all the days; all the pain. Being stable in my emotions is clearly not a destination that can be reached once and for all, I will have to work on myself everyday. I'm going off the grid for a week to try and take care of the parts of my soul that are burdened the most right now. Please do not try and contact me, I won't be answering. **TRIGGER WARNING** When I was 14 I tried to kill myself for the first time. When I was 16 I tried again, and came a breath away from succeeding. 19 and 20 brought dark days and more suicide attempts. 21 and 22 were decent years spent battling chronic depression sprinkled with happy adventures. 23. The hardest 6 months of my life have come to pass. And, all I can think about is how 9 years ago I tried to end my life. 9 years have come and gone. 9 More beautiful years spent breathing and laughing and smiling and crying and feeling. I have been blessed with the strength to put time in between me and my past dances with suicide. 9 More years spent with all of you. Thank you.
