Grammy-nominated Chris Brubeck, one of five sons and one daughter of jazz legend Dave Brubeck and his wife Iola, is a longtime highly respected musician who continues to distinguish himself as an innovative performer and award-winning composer and arranger, clearly tuned into the pulse of contemporary music. John von Rhein, music critic for The Chicago Tribune, calls Chris “a composer with a real flair for lyrical melody – a 21st Century Lenny Bernstein.” Many of his "classical" compositions still contain strong hints of the jazz influence of his seminal father, he has created an impressive body of symphonic work while maintaining a demanding touring and recording schedule with the Brubeck Brothers Quartet (with brother Dan on drums) whose recordings have all landed in the Top 10 on Jazz Radio Charts. His standing-ovation-worthy compositions have been commissioned by the Boston Symphony, New York Pops, Kennedy Center, Baltimore Symphony, and many others. Alan Chapell is not just a musician - he's a cultural alchemist who mixes the sonic textures of the 80s and 90s with the introspective lyricism of the 70s. He blends a lifetime of making music with an advanced degree in privacy and human rights, giving him a rare dual perspective that resonates deeply in his songwriting. Along with his musical success, Alan has carved out a niche as an attorney, advising tech companies on privacy issues. When the producers of HBO's "Silicon Valley" consider creating a character to lampoon your role in the tech space, you know you've made it. Chapell's albums are currently being played on over 150 radio stations in the U.S. and he's played to jam-packed houses around the world from Mumbai to Managua. Chapell has shared the stage with a variety of rock icons including Bighead Todd, Little River Band, Tim Reynolds, Edgar Winter, Gin Blossoms, Everclear, Lisa Loeb, 38 Special, Bighead Todd, Iron Butterfly, Flock of Seagulls and Jackopearce. Chapell is averaging over 50K monthly listening on Spotify. One of Chapell's albums from 2016 was The Redhead’s Allegations was produced by his good friend & Grammy Award-winner/Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Jerry Harrison from Talking Heads. In the late 40’s and early 50’s, that wild and unpredictable time when roots country music careened head-long into the birth of rock ‘n roll, a new sound emerged - a wondrous fusion of some of the best elements of vintage country music and vocal harmonies with an early rock ‘n roll feel. And this is exactly what Dede and the Do-Rights music is all about! Their powerful vocals and beautiful harmonies are a treat to the ear and the band’s exciting, infectious energy makes their listeners want to jump to their feet and dance the night away! Dede Wyland has forged her musical career in the great world of bluegrass music as a nationally and internationally known singer and touring artist. Her compelling voice has enchanted audiences around the globe, and her driving rhythm guitar style becomes the rhythmic core of whatever group she joins forces with. Since moving to the D.C. area, she has been the recipient of 11 Washington Area Music Association Awards for her singing, and her career is the subject of a dedicated chapter in Murphy Henry’s 2013 book Women in Bluegrass: Pretty Good for a Girl. When asked about her own thoughts regarding the country music world, Dede said this: “I love how country music can span from highly energetic fun to a low key intimacy, and how the cathartic nature of the style creates a deeper and more direct connection between the artist and the listener.” Join Living On Music on Facebook at facebook.com/groups/livingonmusic and subscribe to Living On Music with Steve Houk on YouTube here: youtube.com/@livingonmusicwithstevehouk

Back in the late 80's when the legendary club Palomino in LA was a seminal spot for the post-cowpunk California country scene, The Mustangs were a young, all-girl band who were "long on chops and strong on harmonies." After a successful few years of touring and performing, members of the group parted ways in the mid-90s to pursue other musical interests, but in 2017, The Mustangs began their renewal remembering how strong their sound was. The three original members of the group -- Suzanna Spring, Holly Montgomery and Sherry Rayn Barnett -- reconnected with a new name, Mustangs Of The West, added two dynamic new players to complete the line-up: Canadian drummer Suzanne Morissette and violinist/vocalist Aubrey Richmond, and after hearing the band rehearse at Clear Lake Audio, Los Angeles label Blue Élan Records offered the band a deal on the spot, resulting in their 2020 album release called "TIME," produced by Mark Howard (Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Lucinda Williams, Emmylou Harris, U2) and received acclaim from the San Francisco Chronicle, Americana Highways, Goldmine Magazine, No Depression, Pulse, Guitar Girl Magazine, renowned Nashville journalist Holly Gleason, and many other music writers. As the music business slowly recovered from COVID shutdowns, Mustangs Of The West joined a new label, and the result was “SEA OF HEARTBREAK" and "DOWN AT THE PALOMINO," released in July 2023.
