Long time no post...
Long time no post…
It’s been quite some time since my last post. I let life get in the way and lost my passion for writing. Lately I have been thinking about blogging again and why not revisit this one.
So I have been through a lot since I’ve last updated this blog. These will be explained in full at some point but for now let’s focus on getting back some passion for writing and sharing.

77 Witchy Questions
I found this on Kelden Mercury 13‘s blog and I thought I would answer some of these myself. Note: My answers on this blog post are short and brief.  For more of an explanation, I have linked my videos to this on my YouTube Channel. You can also change to the YouTube channel if you’d prefer to hear or watch me instead of reading. Here we go: 1. Do you use runes as a written language? Not…

The Right or Wrong Path?
The Right or Wrong Path?
This has been plaguing my thoughts recently so I thought I would put them down on ‘paper’ and let some outsiders into my brain. And possibly give their opinions. I had a chat to a friend about a week ago about Pagan paths. She is Heathen, of which I know barely a whisper about. She did tell me that if that was the path I was wanting to go down, she is here to help which I appreciated. I joined a…

Life Update // midgeywidgey
Hiiiiii… It’s been a while hasn’t it?  To those who actually still read this blog I apologise for my extremely long absence. I’ve had a lot going on. Where shall we start…  I moved house. Just a few suburbs over but it’s closer to public transport and it’s a bigger house. My brother moved in with us too which helps.  I’m studying Tikanga at the moment which helps me understand my culture and…

New West Auckland bus changes *Long ranty post warning*
The day have come when all the buses that you knew and relied on decided to flip their Shit and change everything. The routes, the bus numbers and the timings have changed and I’m not the only one annoyed by it.  I have taken the bus from west auckland for the last 5 years and not much has changed. The most recent bus time changes actually went in my favour as they were all consistently the same…

It's OK not to cry
It’s OK not to cry
Very recently, I lost my Nan. He was ill for a long time and I knew it was coming. But it still surprised me and hurt me. He was an Army serviceman, who served in 1955-1958 with the NZ Army as a gunner. He married my grandmother in 1959 and from there they had 7 children. From those 7 children, came my generation. The 31 mokopuna. This was the generation he loved the most. Of course he loved his…

People like to compare Draco with Sirius, but that’s not accurate. Draco had a loving family, he was raised with care, even spoiled. He accepted what he was taught by those he loved the most (as small children usually do) and he fulfilled his family’s expectations of him. Sirius was the opposite of that, his family hated him. He later made sure to turn into everything they despised and fought against them, but he was young when he started failing their expectations (e.g. sorted into Gryffindor) and so they must have treated him differently very early, which helped him to turn to different influences. He had every reason to rebel, his upbringing isn’t similar to Draco’s at all. If we put aside the things Draco did in HBP (for a mission where his and his parents lives were at stake), and focus only on the arrogant, nasty bully we saw for five books, do you realise who Draco actually paralells? James Potter. The handsome, rich, pureblood, spoiled boy, who matches all of his family’s expectations and who starts bullying students he considered to be bellow himself since day one of school. Yes, they had different notions of what was considered bellow, but it’s essentially just the same pattern.

Question
Okay hear me out but why are almost all of the DW companion’s parents either at least half dead or MIA
Because I’m all about representation so whERE ARE THE PARENTS
Like okay we’ll start with Rose (classic who would take way too long) So Rose’s dad - dead, hit by a car Jack - doesn’t really count he’s too old to have parents Martha - both parents intact, well done RTD Donna - God knows where her dad was, but we had Wilfred so all is good in the world - but still(!) no father Amy - parents got eaten by a hole so she forgot about them, still MIA, eventually do come back Rory - Brian Brian Brian Brian. Brian is the best I love Brian. Clara - dead mother Bill - dead mother, dad MIA
Do we, as watchers of the show, just like the vulnerability of loss, or do they just use it on the show as a plot point (Amy, Rose, kind of Clara, probably Bill at some point). But seriously the chances of the Doctor pretty much always finding someone who’s parent/s are gone is pretty slim. Like these companions are in their 20’s, not many people lose their parents when they’re that young. I get that a lot of people are from single parent homes but still.
Also can the companions have more siblings pls.

Filling in the gaps // Midgeywidgey
Filling in the gaps // Midgeywidgey
I have started study again. I am an adult student. I find it less scary than I remember it to be. I am studying He Papa Tikanga, and it’s one of the best things I have done in my life. As some people are aware, I am a Maori Pagan. I take my inspiration from my culture and my whakapapa. Since starting on this path, I have always wanted to know protocols and the proper way of doing things…

Rotorua Haul // Midgeywidgey
My husband and I recently went to rotorua to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. While I was there, I managed to scour some of the shops and pick up a few things.  There is a store on Huntly called Candles N Things that I’ve only ever been to once and was desperate to go again. I got some Angelica, Myrrh, Copal Gum, Benzoin powder and Frankinsence. You can see the prices on the pictures. …

My Wonderful Husband // Midgeywidgey
To my darling Husband, We’ve reached our first anniversary!! This first year has gone so fast and look how far we’ve come. Not just in this past year, but in our whole lives together so far. I was sleeping on my parents couch, I had no full time job and no confidence in myself that I could get better than where I was. And then I found you. I wasn’t looking to be honest. I had a little voice in my…

Gypsy Fairs and new Altars // Midgeywidgey
Gypsy Fairs and new Altars // Midgeywidgey
Tumblr media
I went to a Gypsy Fair for the first time today. And I loved it. There was music, food, crafts, clothing and a blacksmith! Everyone there was super nice and friendly. Just as I expected. I picked up a couple of things there that you’ll see in a moment, but I just loved the atmosphere. Now I would like it even more if I was small enough to fit some of the clothes… Sadly they did not come in my…

Resolutions // Midgeywidgey
I really don’t like making New Years resolutions. I enter into them with a negative mindset EVERY TIME and never follow through. Is it because I don’t want to change, so I never do? Or is it because I have no faith that I can change… Who knows. One thing I do have a yearning for, is reading. I have spent too much time gaming and I have neglected my bookshelf. I yearn to read and learn something.…

My journey // Midgeywidgey
I thought I’d share all the things in my life right from the start which lead me to the direction I am heading now. So here we go.. I was first exposed to spirituality through my late aunt. She lived with us when I was really young and I remember her most for her incense, Kama perfume, tie-dyed dresses and her carefree nature.  She wasn’t involved in anything pagan at all but she’s the one I…

Lammas // Midgeywidgey
Its coming up to that time of the year when we honor the harvest. Lammas marks that harvest is just around the corner. For us in the south, it’s at Feb 2nd. Which is 4 days before my wedding anniversary. It seems that bread, apples and other seasonal foods are the big markers for the celebration. It’s also a time to start anew. Either start up a new hobby or knuckle down and hone your talents in…
