I had a blast at Vixx’s concert

I saw Vixx a total of three times in a day (press conference, rehearsal, concert) and the experience was so surreal...I remember wondering if it was all real or just a dream...I kept telling myself that the Vixx whom I’d been seeing through screens was actually alive and standing in front of me, breathing the same air as I did.

I am going to write a fan account of what I experienced for memory’s sake:

PRESS CONFERENCE

(After they were seated on stage) We were indoors and behind the glass panels (under the blazing sun I'd figure it'd be hard for them to even spot fans indoors from the outside) but Ravi still managed to spot us and he bent down and went like “hmmm?” and smiled it was so cute!

Ken also smiled cutely at us.

CONCERT

(Rehearsal pass) It only lasted a 10 minutes. Vixx appeared and danced to two songs, after which they had a short conversation with the audience. I remember them asking us to raise hands if we were seeing them for the first/second/third time.

During a part of dance when the focus was on three members (N and two others), Ken and Hyuk were playful in the background.

Ken was really enthusiastic.

Ravi was really playful - he used his really low voice to imitate the translator's English words.

(Actual concert) Hyuk opened with impressive English lines and was really hyped, but for the rest of the concert he did quieten down a bit.

Leo was more reserved throughout, only becoming goofy towards the end during the encore stage, being the late-at-opening-up type he always has been. There were some Keo moments then.

Hakyeon and Ravi were the most talkative throughout. Hakyeon kept repeating his dry-ice-boom gesture for fun throughout the concert (especially directed at Ravi).

Hongbin was also more talkative and involved than I'd expected. He was really energetic.

Ken was out of breath for quite a long time after the end of one of the stages. He was still panting when he talked, so I was a little worried.

Because Ravi's mic was louder than everyone else's and his pictures kept getting displayed on the screen, Hakyeon insisted that the event director was obsessed with Ravi. Hakyeon asked if this was Ravi's solo concert or Vixx's concert. When the next picture on the screen showed Ravi's mixtape album art, Hakyeon and Hongbin got fed up and left the stage They eventually returned and the group introduced themselves as Vixx again.

They were asked to pick questions posted by fans (the questions were written on post-it notes pinned on a cork board). Hongbin was the first to be done and he returned to his seat. He said "Welcome to Hongbin's solo concert!"

They got Ken to dance to Red Flavour along with another member whom he was to pick. When he got near Leo, Leo threatened him with a boxing/wrestling stance. Eventually they used scissors-paper-stone to decide the member, who turned out to be Ravi. Ken's dancing was really good.

Ken, Hyuk and Leo also reenacted the orangemin VNL crazy dance.

Leo tried to stop one member (I think it was Hyuk) from going to the questions board and choosing more questions but he kept getting interrupted by his own cries as that member /inflicted pain/ on Leo. So it went like "blah blah blah OUCHHH" twice and both times Leo cried in the same pitch. So Ken imitated that exactly and it was really accurate and funny.

Hongbin was asked if he had forgotten his SNS password since he was so inactive. He denied being inactive and eventually Hakyeon got him to promise uploading something about today's concert either that night or the day after. Hakyeon had a specific idea in mind for the post caption but I forgot what it was

The most funny part was Hakyeon being requested to "back-hug the members and say something nice to them". He kept saying he didn't wanna do it but that “he'd do it for the fans”. His first target was Leo. While he hugged Leo (I forgot what he told Leo) the other members scrambled to the side to pour water on one another's back to wet their backs they then stood back-to-back and locked arms in pairs to prevent Hakyeon from separating them and doing the same thing to them as he had done to Leo.

Eventually Hakyeon still back-hugged Hyuk and Jaehwan. He hugged Jaehwan for a really long time and thanked him for always being so cute. When he released his grip from Jaehwan Jaehwan gave a face of ultimate relief it was so funny omg

Hongbin had escaped to someone else's seat but when Hakyeon demanded that he go back to his seat to be hugged (he said "Lee. Hong. Bin.") Hongbin complied like a child. Hakyeon was wondering why Hongbin's back was so wet. Hongbin said it was because it was hot in Singapore and he was sweating.

The last one was Ravi. That was the funniest. While Hakyeon was busy with Jaehwan?? (Or someone else) the rest wrapped Ravi's neck in towels and set towels atop his head to shield him from Hakyeon's imminent back-hug. When Hakyeon arrived he threw away the towels with sass and even took a gulp of water (then threw/released his bottle with confidence), cracked his knuckles and neck, then approached Ravi who had dread written all over his face. He hugged Ravi and said some stuff for REALLY A LONG TIME and throughout Ravi either tried to keep a poker face or the look of 'when will this be over'. When Hakyeon finally released his grip Ravi appeared shaken. Someone (I think it was Hongbin) came and gave Ravi an understanding pat on the back as the two turned away in sadness. When Ravi returned to his seat he was holding his mic with trembling hands.

Bonus: When the members were supposed to give a few words as the concert ended, Ravi said that the concert went well despite a few 'hiccups' in the middle that were the 'back-hugs' and he told us to 'focus on only the good memories tonight and not the bad ones'.

At the encore stage, Leo went to Hyuk and leaned on him for a while. Hyuk seemed indifferent but Leo was really high/jubilant/ecstatic, jumping around the stage.

Leo also jumped around Ken and tried to get him to bow longer (during their final bow) by placing his arm against Ken's back.

Hyuk told us in English "you may be far away but you are always in my heart". 

P.S. If I had recounted anything incorrectly please forgive me! (Post-concert depression has started to kick in. Yesterday was the best day of my life. No regrets.)
