Tanielle Gilbert is at the time an undergraduate student in her second year as a transfer student at Long Beach State University (LBSU). She is doing her last semester and is working towards her Bachelors of Fine Arts In Photography. Her interests are gardening in her apartment and photography for fun. Her photography is fashion base and focus on symbolism. She also likes to listen to music. The ideas her artwork explores is how plants are important within society and its important to interact with them because they are not an object but a living organism.

Her art gallery had many plants and man made things. Tanielle’s artwork includes plants and man made objects that were put together with the plants. The colors that stand out the most in her artwork would have to be green from the plants that also shows she cares a lot about nature.She also had light filters that were blue, purple, and green. There was some type of sound that was being generated by the plant to show that they communicate with each other and that showed they had life. There was different planter boxes and plant plot that were large enough that it needed further examination. The texture of the plants were soft and green. The plants seemed to be dampness in the soil. 

She wants the people to feel warmth of the plants so that they can understand how important plants are. Tanielle wanted her gallery to be a place where humans and plants can come together and understand each other better. She was trying to show that plants are important because of the fact that they can relax someone and also do other things besides just being objects She also says that plants want to be talked to be able to feel alive and not depressed. 

Tanielle  art gallery was amazing and I enjoyed going in it and being able to relax. Her gallery was a place that brings peace into anyones life. Tanielle’s perspective on nature and the plants is somewhat like my moms because they both believe that plants have feeling and that they should be talked to nicely. Overall I liked her art gallery because it was something that I have never seen and it was a new type of art to me. I never thought that plants could be a form of art but it looks like they can be.

art EC feedback

1)the  format was fine. all the activities and work was well organized it wasn't so hard to keep with the work and class was fun.

2)I loved doing the art gallery because I got to see many different forms of art and I loved also being able to hear why the people picked thier galleries.  

3)At first I really didn’t like it because I am a really shy person its hard to talk to new people.But as I kept going I got comfortable with talking to the artist. I loved asking question about the work because it allowed me to understand the story behind the artwork more.I think the art gallery assignment are an amazing idea because it allows students to see many types of artwork.

4)I  I enjoyed the activities we did because they allowed me to do new art activities that I normally wouldn't do and I made new friends doing them. Overall these were really fun activities that took little time to finish and they were enjoyable. 

5)I thought the seven ideas about art was a good idea. What was good about it was that the ideas presented definitely help guide you through the activity.

6)Using tumblr was not so fun for me because I never used it before and I am so used to turing in my work on BEACH BORED which I think is easier to use and it makes it easier to keep up with assessments. 

7)I think using wix was a great experience because after doing my art gallery for this class I was able to use wix for one of my other class so thank you for that.

8) I didn’t really notice a significant advantage of using the website over beachboard because I feel like beachboard is more organized and structured.

9) Not having is an amazing idea because I feel that exams don't really help you learn much they are just helping you memorize something you will forget about after the exam. I think hands on experiences is the best way learn something.

10) I think the class had a lot of writing that we had to do but it wasn't so bad just hard to keep up with sometimes but besides that everything was really fun and class was fun because I actually enjoyed learning about the different art forms and you always had something interesting to say to the class overall the class was great.

Art & my life (Final Paper Reflective)

I think art plays a big role in many peoples life because of the fact that art can be anything that is beautifully.I think music is the beautifully form of art because of the fact that it can touch people in a strong way music can define the feeling of a person and that's something that I find amazing. My music determines how I am feeling if I feel happy I will listen to music that is full of joy and that has a positive message in it or maybe just the beat of the music is positive and fast. The main reason why I took this class is mainly because I wanted to get a better understanding of what art work is.I think before taking this class I was only into animation art work and nothing else. But having to do the SOA conversations I was able to relate that there is many different types of art works that are interesting to look at and what was amazing was that I actually was able to take in the art work and enjoy like art should be. This class was a fun and good experience for me because it made me do different art activities that I would have never done by myself.

I plan to be recreation and leisure major, I want to be able to work as a park director who plans out event for city parks.The main factor that I think will influence me in my recreation and leisure career is creativity because I have to be able to come up with great ideas for people in the city who go to parks.  Recreation and leisure is a pretty big industry because there is parks in almost every city and they all try to do the best to make safe parks for family to visit.

Taking this class allowed me to come back to draw which was something that I use to enjoy doing as a kid but than stopped when I started high school because of the fact that I got into playing sports and other things that made me forget about drawing. Taking this class allowed me to come back into the art world which is amazing. I also started drawing again which was something that I have not done in sometime and I had fun doing it.I hope that I keep on drawing and never stop because I honestly enjoy because it allows me to explore my imagination. 

With all the activities and conversation I did in this class  the most important thing that learned is to just simply take art in and pay close attention to it because every artwork has a story with in it.I might not have the best drawing but I know that some of the drawing I do sometimes express my feeling. Many of the artiest that I got to talk to had there feeling shown in their artworks some it was easy to see but other it was hidden really good with in the artwork but they made their drawing out of some type of feeling they have towards something.Talking them I noticed I had gained respect for their artwork and them as well.During the semester I came across a lot of abstract works that I would have never thought of and some of it was really amazing I think the best of would have to be Eva Grello animation art work about cats it was something had so many stories with in it.

My overall experience with art in this class was wonderful. The activities we did were very fun because they are things that I would probably never do thing such as the plaster casting and  graffiti writing which I enjoyed doing with new people. I had fun in this class because was able to meet new people who are really cool and I think that was something really cool about the class having us students work with each other. I loved the class because of the fact that nobody was judging anybody on their artwork everyone was just having fun doing the activities. After taking this class I know to try my best to understand all types of artwork and also I will try my best to try new things.

D.7 ARTACTIVITY 

The internet is such an amazing thing it allows you to find anything you want. The internet is an amazing tool if you learn to use to do different things with it besides just teaching things up. I think copyright shouldn't be a thing because I feel that if someone can make something better by adding there on taste it should be consider art. I can understand why people think copyright is a big problem and I get it people shouldn't be allowed to take others idea but if they can make those idea better should it really be a problem I mean they could just give credit to the maker of it.I don't put my name of my mash up picture because I'm pretty sure someone can make it better and I would like to see that. My overall experience of making this piece was really enjoyable. I used google draw to create the piece but it would be better if I was good at photoshopping but I am not. I Just wanted to make something to show PlayStations and Xboxes owners that we are all the same and that we are all gamers.

Eva Grello is currently working towards getting her MFA degree at Cal State Long Beach. She is in the department of Art; Program of Illustration and Animation. Her work shows her emotions towards her past health problems that she has come across. Eva’s artworks help her not think about the brutality of the world and allow her to be in her own playful world.

           Eva has two paintings that are about 1.5ft. In her first painting, you will see a layout of a bedroom, cluttered with clothes everywhere, train tracks going throughout the room, and a lot of other little things like lipstick, scissors, and food. There is so much going on in her paintings which makes them fun to look at them and just see what you can find within them. Her second painting is of a park field with animated animal-people doing many different things like walking their turtle, going down a slide or selling food at a stand. Her second size of work is a big display of an animation piece she made some of the tools she used were cloth, paper, and smaller plastic items. Her painting kind of remind you of a book called where is waldo.

Eva has a big love animation and that’s why she decides that she wanted to push herself further and create a stop-motion piece that showed the random things found in a bedroom. The sense of a bedroom gives Eva the ability to forget about the brutality of the world and allows her to be in her own playful world. Eva says, “Designing patterns is an attempt to restore her authority over the sense of well-being”. Eva wanted to explore her aesthetic through these pieces.

Eva work of art is extremely beautiful and bring a sense of joy into people’s life. I felt joy when I was looking into her painting because I was looking for things that I might have laying around in my room. Eva artwork gets you to forget about the real world for just a second because of the stuff that is inside her painting and gets you thinking. I could relate to her artwork because sometimes life just feels like a big mess.

This drawing that I made show my hate for books and my love for anime. The cartoon that you see is Sasuke he is from an anime called Naruto he is one of my favorite characters because he is like me and doesn’t really care but many things but he does care a lot for family and friends just like me.

Making this was extremely hard because I can’t draw at all. But I did enjoy telling the story of how i met some cool at school. My story just goes to show that there is many people in this world that are cool we just have to introduce ourselves to them.

This drawing I did just shows my love for anime and it also shows one of my favorite charters from an anime called naruto I like this character because he is the only character who believes that war isn’t the answer to everything unfortunately he dies at a young age because people feared that he would grow to be too strong.

For my design I made a big whole in between the the big Gray wall which will allow for students to be able to walk in and out of it without having to wait for some to walk in before them. My idea is great because it will not have us students waiting on someone to pass so that we can pass and it will also stop the awkward eye to eye contact that happens. I have no idea why there is a big random gray walk there but for my it’s pretty pointless idk if it’s some type of art that I just don’t understand but I don’t like it.
