Final Piece #2

Materials - I used a sketchbook and color pencils to create this drawing. I used different shading techniques to create this drawing.

Colors - I wanted to strictly use complementary colors for my second piece of the final. I used Blue and Orange as the colors in my drawing.

Inspiration - My Inspiration was from Howard19. I was inspired how they create a image with animals and had turn them it into a unique image, by making the animals something that they are not.

Visual Goal - Visually I attempted to create a unique or different style of drawing. I wanted to create a Zebra, but I wantws to create it in colors that it would be impossible to be. I wanted to use appealing colors, that is why I choose blue and orange, as they are very appealing, and happen to be complementary colors. By using these colors, I was able to create a unique looking Zebra.

Conceptual Goals - I wanted to create an image that represented in dualities in nature and identity. By using complementary colors of blue and orange, the image then creates a dialogue about contrast. The choice of these vivid colors then challenges us to reconsider the perception of the natural world, blending creativity with realism.

Final Piece #1

Materials - For this artwork I used a sketchbook, color pencils and a very cut outs from a magazine. The title that I would give this artwork is "Peaceful World".

Colors - For this assignment I used complementary colors of red and green. I used red to represent the leaves on the trees. And then I used green to also represent some of the leaves, but also represent the ground, being grass.

Inspiration - I took inspiration from Athenas artwork. Her piece of art made me think about how peaceful nature is. She made a very peaceful and artwork with the sky being in the backdrop. I attempted to create a peaceful like setting in my photo with the background.

Visual Goal - For a visual goal, I wanted to create a nature like setting that shows perception within the photo. I wanted to create a sense distance with the closer drawings and further drawings.

Conceptual Goal - The goal of this was to create a like setting where I would see myself taking in nature. As I like to use nature as a way to clear my mind as I find myself as peace in nature. I wanted to create a setting where that could happen. The different colors that I incorporated, Red, yellow, blue, brown, I wanted to use these colors to create a fall type of feel.

My Drawing is the first one, the one underneath was my inspiration.

For my assignment, I created a collage with various different images representing a very wealthy athlete. They like to display their wealth to the everyday person by posing with their belongings. They have multiple luxury cars, while also being a high-level athlete, the best at their sport.

A celebrity that I picked that shows off the lifestyle I described is Shedeur Sanders. Shedeur is one of the best college athletes, and a projected top five pick in this upcoming NFL draft. He has a following of over two million. He is one of the richest college athletes, as his NIL deal is worth roughly 5 million dollars. He has many luxury watches and cars, one of them being a Rolls Royce. It is fascinating to see how at such a young age with millions of dollars, he still is motivated to be one of the best at his sport.

I chose the second option. My two roommates and all painted fall themed paintings. We were limited supplies so we all took 15-minute turns on these paintings. I really enjoyed sharing this moment with them.

I decided to make a rock based art work inspired by the "peace sign". I added a few leaves that I found throughout my walk. I did not have a partner for this activity.

I drew my roommate Frank. I was not able to get a photo of what exactly he was wearing when he was sitting due to class conflicts. I really love how uplifting and motivating that Frank is. Three things I learned are Franks family is from Fort Myers Florida. He also is a double minor in econ and communications, and he hopes to open a restaurant one day.

For this week's assignments I had a snoop's dog body with a dog's face on it. Then I created a figure similar to it next to it. I also added a plant. I created a setting of a dirt road with the sky in the back and a little patch of grass next to the road.

Part 2

For my midterm I decided to transform two skulls and make them into a flower-like shape. The two skulls are the sides of the flowing where the extend to the top of the flower and meet. I kept the colors neutral, to enhance the skull feel. And I used different types of shading throughout the drawling, I would say that I enhance every different type of shading in my image. I also added spider webs in each of the corners.

My Birthday is August 23rd, which makes me a Virgo. In my drawling, I split it up into three parts, all different shades of different colors that are affiliated with being a Virgo. Those colors being green, sky blue, and orange. In the first section of my paper, I drew the Virgo sign. Arnold Palmer, who is a famous golfer, and also is a Virgo, I drew the logo for his brand. In the second section I drew the planet Mercury, which is known to be as the ruler planet for Virgo. In the third section I drew the Mali flag. Which is a country affiliated with Virgo.

Attendance Prompt. Rick Springfield, a famous musician. His birthday falls on August 23rd, same as mine.

For this assignment, I referenced off of Brooke and Fiona. I really liked the dessert setting that Fiona had created in her drawling. Which is why I had created a dessert setting in my landscape. The sun set that Brooke had created inspired to put one in my drawling.

For this week's assignment I used commentary colors. I used Green and blue to contracts the water and the mountains, trees, and grass surrounding the water. I used cool and warm shades of green to represent the mountains and trees. Blue was more of a warmer shade.

Attendance Prompt: Francis Lindor, an all second baseman for the New York Mets. The Jersey combination is blue and orange. Blue and Orange are complementary colors.

For my assignment, I used color pencils to create a nighttime setting in the mountains. I used the strategy of shading to create this drawling. I included hatching and crosshatching in my drawling to create different depths and add a level of deepness in the drawling. I found this video on YouTube to help instruct me. I would like to improve my shading in a few areas. I found a few images in a magazine that would fit this drawling well.

My name Is Michael Clouden. I am a junior at St. Bonaventure University. I am majoring in Finance with a minor in cyber security. In my free time I like to spend my time outside and hanging out with friends.

A few of my friends have taken ARTH-101-01 and have recommend it. I am looking forward to taking this class.
