I constantly marvel at the expansiveness of this young girl’s mind, it’s unflinching ability to find a metaphorical “private room” with a lock on it in which to think and create without interruption, all in the midst of the distractions of life being lived all around her. This is the spot she chose at her piano teacher’s house in the same cozy room in which her brother sat having his piano lesson just behind her. Maybe the answer for all private rooms give women the ability to think independently and without interruption.

A visit to Clare’s #MorYork art studio will restore your faith in the impossible. An array of his own original sculptures, furniture and assemblages made from recycled and discarded materials coexist symbiotically alongside his many personal collections of oddities ranging from human teeth to carnival dolls. A wonder to behold.

This car reminded her of the Flying Ford Anglia in Harry Potter. I wanted the car to look magical and loom larger than life, as if transformed by the alchemy of her fertile imagination in the laboratory of the forest.
