Final revelations/ thoughts on the project
This project was a journey, an experience, and a proper introduction to the field of animation. When we were first asked to produce a 30-second animation, we were really doubting ourselves. As beginner animation students we did not know much about animating or any software but we took the challenge to our hands and did it. And we pulled it off!
This project was a learning curve for all of us. We learned about simple traditional animations done using light box technology and we gradually moved to more advanced animation software like Krita.
I personally loved this module since I did something I had never tried before. An animation using paint. It was a big challenge but at the end of the day when I see the results I can be satisfied.
And I got the chance to talk to Anna Samo, A Russian-born Germany-based animator. I shared my work with her and she shared her insights with me. It was a nice experience.
So, ultimately with the guidance of our module tutors Dinendri and Trishan I was able to complete this module with great success.

FINAL SHOT RECREATED
This time I decided to use clay as a technique and make the final shot once again. This time it turned out alright. The process took 2.5 hours to complete but it was worth it at the end.

Feedback Received for the final scene.
So today I received feedback from our tutor for the module Mrs. Dinendri. She acknowledged the new scenes that I did. However, she asked me to change the final shot of the film.
More specifically, "ANNA SAMO's "name being written and "das ENDE". It was mainly due to the time limitation. Also, she asked me to go for something simple this time. Maybe to create the name using clay and take some photos of it.
So I will be recreating my final shot on another day.

"das ENDE" - THE END
The final shot will be my hands writing 'das ENDE' which means The END in German. Anna spent most of her lifetime in Germany studying animation and working in animation studios in Germany. So it is a tribute to her. This will also be done using Pixilation

Samo's hands shot done using Pixilation Technique
Then I proceeded to paint her hands to show the colours/creativity getting absorbed to Samo.
This shot comes in the beginning when Samo picks up the color pencil box and the colors start to get absorbed into Samo's hands. Inorder to depict Samo's hands I had to work with my mother and use her hands for the shot.

Shoe shot progress -Raw without editing
This shot is used to show how Anna's legs are covered by clay. It is to show how creativity got into her and also to show how she uses claymation as an animation technique in her work. I used one of my shoe pairs and kids clay to film this scene

Trying out "Pixilation" technique for the first time
Anna Samo uses the pixilation technique in her animation. Pixilation is a stop motion technique in which live actors are used as a frame-by-frame subject in an animated film. I had basically 2 scenes to create using this technique. The following is Anna Samo using Pixilation for he latest movie "conversations with a whale.

The final stop motion animation
In this animation, we showed how the peacock mermaid princess swam up the blue ocean every night and took a breath of fresh air and returned straight to the water. We had other ideas in mind, but we ran out of time eventually because we spent too much time on the puppet and the backgrounds. Enjoy the video.
