Hello all! I鈥檓 Rachael. Welcome to my blog. I'm just your average late 20-something trying to navigate my way through life and grad school. Hopefully I can help you do the same with my blog and my helpful (hopefully you'll think so!) beauty, lifestyle, food, mental health, school/work-related topics, and more! Please have a look around and check back weekly for new posts! I look forward to going on this journey with you.

Expert tip for oily/combo-skinned girls whose face gets super dry in the winter: try a hydrating foundation. Normally we stay far, far away from this formula like a vampire from a cross or garlic, right? But trust me, powder your T-zone and you鈥檒l be looking hydrated and not oily, but especially not dry and flaky. My new favorite is the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt鈥檙 Hydrating Longwear foundation. It gives the beautiful coverage I expect from Fenty but my skin looks youthful and smooth. I might honestly say that I like this even better than their matte formula. It also stays on nicely under a mask (I wear a mask 7+ hours a day, might I add.) I think this product is definitely worth a try. Get it for $36 at Sephora or Fenty Beauty.

Ways to be a little more sustainable in your day-to-day life! I wanted to talk about this topic today because I鈥檝e been thinking about it more recently. We can鈥檛 do everything, but even one thing we change to more sustainable can help benefit us and our world. Here鈥檚 a list of things I鈥檝e been doing lately to be more sustainable:
1) Reusable cotton rounds. I鈥檝e started using these to remove my makeup at the end of the night. I鈥檇 go through SO many cotton rounds every week, so wasteful! Not a good look.
2) Shopping at ThredUp. I鈥檝e done this for years but nowadays I honestly buy more clothes here than anywhere else (thrift stores used to be my go-to but with Covid I find ThredUp to be much safer and easier). Fast fashion is a thing of the past!
3) Ditch the paper plates. I don鈥檛 know about you but I always seem to have endless dishes piling up in the sink to be done. I hate it! I used to use paper plates but I鈥檝e cut them out and decided to suck it up and just wash the damn dishes. The planet can thank me later.
4) Recycle! I鈥檝e done this for years now but it鈥檚 important to recycle, and re-use bags when you can for shopping, etc.
5) Which leads me to #5, which is reusable water bottles! I always used to drink plastic water bottles - we鈥檇 go through 24+ bottles a week! Even though we recycled, it鈥檚 such a waste. Now I use a 40oz Takeya water bottle and I鈥檓 never looking back!
I hope you found this helpful and are inspired to take steps to be more sustainable in your life. 馃挄
