Small Town Rivalry Matchup In Round 3!!!
Also occurring this Friday, the cross town rivals Sumter and Summerville will go at in round 3 of the playoffs. Both teams winning 10 games or more all year. Summerville being 10-2 and Sumter being 11-1. Both these teams have some to the best lower state talent. The athletes across both teams have multiple D1 recruits. This should be a amazing game I have Sumter coming out on top.

Upstate Rivalry Appearing in Round 3!!!
This Friday in the 3rd round of playoffs , the Gaffney Indians will take on James F. Byrnes. In a highly anticipated matchup, this upstate rivalry is a big matchup. Byrnes is 9-3 on the year, while Gaffney is also 8-3. Both of these teams are high ranked teams for the upper state bracket. This game should be a good one to watch. I have Gaffney coming out on top 28-21.

Week 2 Matchup To Re-Occur in Round 3????
After the second round in playoffs not many teams are left. The power house Dutch Fork Silver Foxes continue to cruise through after their win against Dorman. Upper state power house Spartanburg also moves on after beating T.L Hanna. These two teams with go at it again in round 3. Originally Dutch Fork beat Spartanburg in a shootout that led to a game winning last second field goal by dutch fork. That score was 29-27. I expect this game to be even better this time around.

Most Dominant Team In The State?
Let’s recap some region play. We will be focusing on Region 4 in 5a. Dutch Fork won this region again. Only allowing 14 total points to all 4 teams. The beat White Knoll 52-0, Chapin 51-0, River Bluff 56-7, and Lexington 63-7. These teams that Dutch Fork played are not bad. Dutch Fork simply is a power house team led by Tom Knotts and Jarvis Green. I expect Dutch Fork the win state this year.

Season Comes To A End For River Bluff
This past friday the River Bluff Gators made the trip down to myrtle beach from lexington to take on Carolina Forest. This was a first round playoff game. Gators being the number 3 seed and the Panthers being the number 2 seed. It was all tied up 21-21 at half. But the panthers came out hard in the second half. Final score was 42-28. This surprised a lot of people as River Bluff was expected to go far this year. I expect the Gators to have a great off season and come back even better next year.

River Bluff New Record?
This past Friday, with Lexington playing Dutch Fork . River Bluff took on the Chapin Eagles as the last game in the Swamp for the season. The Gators crushed the Eagles fairly easily. The score was 70-21. This was a new school record for most points scored in one game. I expect River Bluff to make a very good and long playoff run.

Region 4 5A Championship
This Friday the Lexington Wildcats will take on the Dutch Fork Silver Foxes. In the Region Championship for region 4. This matchup will be fun to watch as both teams have a star running back. Jonah Norris of Lexington approaches 2,000 yards on the season. JMU commit Jarvis Green of Dutch Fork tied the state record for most touchdowns last week with 7. This game in my opinions will not be close due to Dutch fork being a power house of a team. Updates will come next week.

Region 4 Split Into Upper and Lower State for Playoffs???
This year for the first timer every Region 4 in 5A will split there teams into the upper and lower state playoff brackets. This means that the number 1 and 4 seed will be placed into the upper state. While the 2 and 3 seed will be placed into the lower state. Usually this region plays all teams lower state in the playoffs but this year that has changed. That means we could see some rematches at the state championship and division championships. This was a great move by these teams in this region.

Most Anticipated 5A Matchup Of The Year?
This Friday two of the most watched teams in the state will take the field against each other. Number 2 Dorman Cavaliers will take on the defending state champs Gaffney Indians. This is a region game for both teams and always a amazing atmosphere. Both teams have a variety of Division 1 commits, and others with plenty of offers. This will be a great matchup with good talent of both teams and both sides of the ball. Will Gaffney continue to make another state championship run or will Dorman defend their turf?

Will Brookland-Cayce Go Far Into The Playoffs?
The Bearcats are currently 4-3 and 2-0 in their region. They take on Dreher High school today, Swansea, then Gilbert. Thete toughest region game will be against the Gilbert Indians. But i think they can still pull away with this win. Quarterback Tanner Staton (Elon Commit) has a great connection with his Wide Receiver Evan Golden. Both doing extremely well. I believe if they stay on track, they will go far into playoffs and maybe even state if they can compete with Camden and Daniel.

The downfall of Apollos Cook
After Apollos Cook transferred with his dad to Airport High School he has not had the greatest year. The eagles are 2-6 on the year. To me it looks like the team is centered around Apollos. This may sound good but he is under a lot of stress at all time. He plays both offense and defense and even special teams. He averages 100 yards a game, Tackles per game, and 2 Touchdowns. Recently he had a neck injury sending him to the hospital. When he returned he had not played well. Will Apollos Cook make a return before college?

Biggest Rivalry In SC?
This Friday the River Bluff Gators and Lexington Wildcats will face up on the second week of region play. The gators are 6-1 after beating White Knoll in week 1 of region play. The Wildcats are 5-1 also coming off a week 1 region win against Chapin. This matchup is always big, the stands will be filled. I believe the Gators will take the win at Lexington.

River Bluff Finally Throwing the Football??
During River Bluffs game vs a highly ranked Dorman team. River Bluff would have to be 2 dimensional by running and throwing the football. River Bluff has 2 very talented Running Backs, Cooper Johns and Gray Herring. Against Dorman these backs only combined for 175 rushing yards. But on the passing side, Parker Murray threw for 229 yards 22-37. This is the most I have seen River Bluff throw the ball in years. If they keep this up they will be a very dangerous team.
