Drama Inspired Recipe: Korean Style Corndogs
Drama Inspired Recipe: Korean Style Corndogs
I’ve been watching the Korean sports drama Run on on Netflix. In episode 3 of the series, Mi Joo eats a delicious looking corndog. The corn dog that she was weating looks different from the American ones I’m used to seeing. After some research, I discovered the difference and I wanted to try it out myself. I decided that I will attempt to make the Korean style corn dog. Korean Style…

2020 Year in Review
Time to take a quick look at how this year went on the blog
Time for the 2020 review! What should have been an inspiring and great year on the blog turned into a desertion. In one of my impulsive tempest, I had almost got rid it altogether. I ended up losing some articles and then had to replace them again. The amount of dedication I administered here on the blog was minimum. I told myself last year, I would do better. Yet, I only did worst. At a…

June/July Feedback Survey
I have been in a mood. I have lost all motivation to work on this blog. I think the Corona Virus has a lot to do with it.
So earlier today, I was working on an assignment for class (I’m working on a Master’s Degree). The assignment consists of creating a Google Doc Form and I’m suddenly inspired. An hour or so later, I am here on my blog creating a feedback survey for readers. Please if you…

Kamayan Feast
After watching Crazy Beautiful You, there was a short scene of food on giant banana leaves being eaten with hands. As I learn about cultures, I had to know more about this practice and the history behind it. I learned that it is called Kamayan. I wanted to create my own Kamayan and so I did. In the time of Coronavirus, I made a hand-fed feast.

Here’s the short clip from the movie.

Holiday Traditions: Easter
I haven’t written much about holidays here on the blog. I planned to write more this year and I have been seriously writing less. So now with a little more extra time on my hands, I will try to write more frequently. The first holiday I’ll write about is Easter. Easter is originally the day to celebrate Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead. It has also become a somewhat secular celebration…

Kilig: The Feeling of Romance
Imagine. You are walking with your friends around town about to visit a new restaurant. Suddenly someone walking by catches your eye. Your heart stops. You hold your breath. You get butterflies in your stomach. The other person smiles at you without breaking eye contact. You pass each other, smiling at each other–it’s like you both share a secret no one else knows. Once gone, you can breathe…

In the movie Crazy Beautiful You, the female lead was interested in photography. She spent most of the movie photographer different things and eventually progressed in her skills and abilities. Eventually it lead her to have an exhibition of her work.

I will be writing weekly episode recaps about Crash Landing on You (or trying to). Recaps are typically uninspiring. If I want an episode play-by-play, I can watch the show. This is a disclaimer: There will be spoilers, be prepared. If you would like to start from the beginning of the series, go here.

2019 Year in Review
2019 Year in Review
2019 was a year of minimal articles here at Metta Cultura. I’ve had many ideas to write about, but not the energy nor the time to write them. You may see several back posts added later because my ideas will haunt me. In 2018 I had written twice as many articles than I did in 2019. This years views and visitors stayed consistent with last year. I had 21,000 views from 14,000 visitors again. Thank…

It has been a while since I’ve written. Life has certainly gotten the best of me. So I’m going to try my best to write more frequently, but we shall see. I made red bean bun aka anpan. It was inspired by the Japanese drama Switched.

Netflix Drama Jinn and the Outrage over Mira
Netflix Drama Jinn and the Outrage over Mira
This article is my attempt to understand the outrage that is directed toward the character Mira from the Netflix original drama Jinn. I could be completely wrong or not, but this is what I think.
So I’ve spent a lot of time watching Asian dramas. They are extremely conservative. The characters seems happy if holding hands is the only physical intimacy that they share. But let’s discuss Mischie…
