Day 30: My Fairy Tale Days
My fairy tale days,
surfacing from sleep
under attack
from monstrous sound
 from a voice so loud
and dragon-fiery and over the edge,
that blazed and grew and
pushed me to the ledge,
where trapped, I prayed
 until it crashed and burned.
 Then father left
and I sunk back
onto my stone pillow
and wept.

My Skin
The psychologist with
the photographic memory
...
I used to pray and sing
as he went
in and out
of my skin.
Lovely and bad,
smart and sad,
he spoke so
I could
live.

Day 29: 4 Haiku (Ch.20)
I.
It came from the sky.
Maybe it landed gently,
the pain of the dead.
II.
The soft blue light of the moon
stretching for miles up
as they climbed toward the stars.
III.
It was a painting.
The faces of the fairies shone
from the yellow world.
IV.
treated him like dog;
nice guy, very innocent,
just happens to be psycho.
Erasure haiku. Pike, Christopher, The Shaktra, NY: Tor Press, 2005. Pgs. 260, 268, 269, 272.

Day 28:  Fairies
The night seemed to pass
in shifting lines,
as soft and shadowy and breezy
as
the hair of fairies.
Remix. Pike, Christopher, The Shaktra, NY: Tor Press, 2005. Pgs. 189-90.

Day 26:  CRYSTAL WOOD STONE
Crystal wood stone,
 fresh are lovely ice maidens
imprisoned in the
laced curtains place with canopies.
Forever further look entirely above ground.
An afternoon to destroy artwork:  brilliance lost.
Hesitance to destroy love. To love
listening eyes looking on paintings
and carvings of
 crystal, wood, stone.

Day 25:  Giggling
The palace overwhelmed.
 Long, marbled halls.
Desks, drawers and
mirrors lined with gold.
Bejeweled crowns.
 Clear green pools
and
a labyrinth of flowers.
 Balcony to a view
too amazing for eyes
to recognize.
 “Magnificent,” she cried—
until stopped
by
the giggling of a troll
sounding
as if
he was about to throw
up.

Day 23:  Conspiracy of Blondes
She was off to a bad start.
     A conspiracy of blondes
in blue jeans with blue eyes
     exchanging looks
came in.
She felt thick and dirty and wary.
The promise of a chance died.
She couldn’t play her cards:
she had none left to play.
     She got out before
he came back
with a Coke and a confident,
interested
face taken over by
a frown, wary
as he looked
around and felt
a promise of a chance
had died.

Day 22:  Winter Was Hell  (Duplex)
  Winter was hell, if pretty.
The hell of it was going deeper.
                 Going deeper was hell.
               There was nowhere to sit.
He just wanted a nice place to sit,
the furniture at odds with his type.
The furniture at odds with his type.
What type of person fiddles with time?
What type of person fiddles with time?
Six cups of black coffee is lunch.
Simple lunch, black coffee, six cups.
               Simple exterior, a bland plant.
 A bland plant, simple furniture,
overlooking the savior in the room.
The savior in the room said go deep.
The savior fit like a glove.
The savior fit like a glove.
Furniture was only exterior.
                 Furniture was only exterior.
Trees and woods were only exterior.
A view of trees and woods, out in hell.
Winter was hell, if pretty.

Day 16:  Ghosts...
Just ordinary
boring ghosts...
Do not underestimate!
Permission to destroy?
Not sure...
May awaken wrong time, wrong place!
They will die?
Erase!  Erase!

Day 12:  It Gets Old
He smelled good
and had
       exquisite
          landscaping.
So I babysat
this boy
friend,
his
explosions,
no answers...
I would spill my guts
but couldn’t get
him to talk.
So I corrected,
          relocated,
                 acted
because
his expensive house
was on
an   old   block.
