I edited this since in the original post I thought it was Fabian Koller who played scorpius because I was going by face alone and didn't look at the cast list for that day. Turns out I was wrong, oops.

Shout-out to Christian Bock and Vincent Lang the two german actors playing scorpius and albus in the Hamburg version. I really wish I could find promotional pictures or photos / videos of them on stage because their chemistry was impeccable and I wish the international audience could see their scorbus version

It was interesting to learn, that in the original (english) revised epilogue scorpius actually asks rose to be his friend. Because while he technically does that in german, too, the way it's phrased makes it sound very different.

The problem is, in german the word for (female) friend and girlfriend is the same (Freundin). That can make the distinction between the two quite difficult but most of the time you can at least confidently guess by context and / or sentence structure.

So scorpius says in the epilogue "Ich habe Rose gefragt, ob sie meine Freundin wird" which is a pretty direct translation of "I asked Rose to be my friend". But with a sentence like that most german speakers would automatically assume it means "I asked Rose to be my girlfriend" (which is what I did).

If they wanted to be more clear I maybe would have gone with "Ich habe Rose gefragt, ob sie mit mir befreundet sein will" (engl. "I asked Rose if she wants to be friends with me") or something along the lines. I get that this sentence is a bit of a mouthful especially for a stage play but it's still acceptable imo and would have made the intentions more clear.

Yeah, that's what confused me, too because when I was hunting for pictures I found an article mentioning that he would only be starting in August. However, the official website already lists him as scorpius (but doesn't seem to list the new albus, yet).

Also, of course there is no way to tell for sure because I wasn't sitting right in front of the stage and I didn't look at the cast list that day (because I didn't know there wouldn't be a way to look it up after) but even at a distance I am at least 95% sure that actor was not Hardy Punzel. Looking through the cast list on the website (main actors and stand-ins) Fabian Koller is the only scorpius who really resembles the actor I saw on stage so I thought he probably covered for Hardy that day

But believe me, that search drove me nuts and there is still room for error.

SCORBUS IS CANON

There is now both a short AND LONG version of the cursed child in theatres!!!

(I saw the long 2 part show in London last month)

The changed are small but here’s a list of the main ones that canonised Scorbus:

When Delphi tortures Scorpius, instead of saying Albus’s weakness was friendship, she said it was love.

There is no mention of rose, and Scorpios, having any romantic relationship, and at the end, Scorpius says that he asked Rose to be his friend, instead of his girlfriend

when is Scorpius and Albus hug at the end it is much more romantic and both of them act as though they realise they were in love!

Albus describe Scorpius is the most important person in his life to Harry at the very end.

There’s more I’ve missed and just generally in the show I saw (which was the most incredible things I’ve ever seen in theatre) Scorpius and Albus’ interactions were just more intimate and it was so beautiful to see especially when it wasn’t shortened!!!

spread the word about there being a long version too because I NEED this published for my mental well-being.
