Headcanon: Viola

  ⋄ Rufus was exposed to music nearly immediately as a child; before he could even walk. His father wished him to take piano, this was because of the connotations of 'rich' families. Lessons were forced and reinforced, even though he enjoyed playing it immensely and caught the concept of music right away-- Young Rufus began to resent the instrument due to being demanded to play it so much during corporation gatherings so his father could 'show off' his prodigy son. At the age of seven, he began playing the viola instead, having picked the idea up from a Nanny that had idly mentioned that his mother had once played it.

   Though having no attachment to his mother, the change of instrument was more to defy the portly, disgusting man that had sired him-- But in away it became a nod to the woman that had died during his birth. When not working, he will play in his office or room to help ease anger or to encourage thinking. The destruction of the ShinRa Corp. Tower had destroyed his last instrument, but has since received a new one as a gift from the Turks.
