Six smart steps to configure Mapbox with ReactJS
Mapbox provides custom maps, search and navigation. It supports many platforms. The tool is powered by programmers as well as millions of devices providing Location Data. It provides developers a platform and a toolset to build customized applications where location-based data can be used to meet a variety of business requirements.
A typical scenario where Mapbox is used:
A service provider uses Mapbox to track locations of their assets or employees in order to provide real-time information to customers or for operational monitoring. This could be a restaurant delivery service, an international transport company or even a fleet operator in a city.
Customizing Mapbox
One of our clients provides data services to monitor the health of agricultural farms. They wished to offer compelling data visualization of agricultural farm images along with other details. We customized mapbox to render this information on the web and mobile devices. There are SDKs available for the Web, iOS and Android.
In this article, we share how we configured mapbox in React JS using custom style to add new fonts, custom icons and publish these styles.
Following are the steps to configure mapbox in React JS using custom style to add new fonts, custom icons and publish these styles –
1. Steps to generate the token number and style in Mapbox
a. Create an account on https://account.mapbox.com
b. Log in to your account
c. On the Dashboard look for the Default public token. This Token number can be used for configuration in the Web App. You need to remember that this token number is public and easily accessible from the developer tab.
d. To get the private Token click on the button 'Create a Token' you will get a form. Enter the 'Token name' and select the desired 'Public Scope' and the 'Secret Scopes’.
e. Note: - This token will only be accessible from the specific URLs that we add while generating the Token.
f. Now add the list of comma-separated URLs into the URL field and click on the 'Create Token’. Next you will be asked to confirm with your account password.
g. You will find the private token at the bottom of the Token list.
2. Steps to configure React JS app with Mapbox
a. There are two different methods available for using the Mapbox on the web App.We describe the steps using the 'npm' module bundler for installing Mapbox GL JS.
b. Install the 'npm' package --> 'npm install mapbox-gl --save'
c. Include the GL JS CSS file
d. Include the CSS file in the <head> of your HTML file
i. <link href='https://api.mapbox.com/mapbox-gl-js/v1.3.1/mapbox-gl.css' rel='stylesheet' />
e. Add the map to your Web App.
i. var mapboxgl = require(‘mapbox-gl/dist/mapbox-gl.js');

iv. container: 'YOUR_CONTAINER_ELEMENT_ID',

f. Now you are done with the configuration.
3. Steps to create the custom style of Mapbox
a. To create our custom style for the map, we need to open the Mapbox Studio,
b. To open the Mapbox studio, you can to go to the Dashboard and then click on the 'Design in Mapbox Studio' on the right side of the Dashboard or Just click on the link here https://studio.mapbox.com/
c. After opening the Mapbox studio, you can see the predefined styles you can use directly or you may choose to create a new style.
d. To create a new style, click on the 'New style' button on top of the page.
e. Select the desired template from the list and can change the style of the map from bottom of the dialog and then click on the customize button.
f. You can see a dashboard with different settings.
g. You can update the style of the country label, background, road, buildings and many more
4. Steps to add a new font to the map and then publish for production
a. Click on the Fonts tab on the top-right corner then you can find a dialog to upload the new fonts.
b. Clicking on the Upload new font, you can see a new dialog with the title 'Upload fonts' here you can drag new fonts with extension '.TTF' and ‘.OTF’.
c. Once Font family is added, it can be then used in the map.
5. Steps to add a custom icon or an image and publish
a. The image we upload here will be available as an icon on the map for example Image as a custom marker.
b. Click on the 'Images' tab in the header you can see a dialog to upload the SVG image.
c. To upload the SVG image, click on the 'Upload SVG Icon' button, now you can see a new dialog where you can drag your SVG image.
d. Once you update any style, you have to publish the style to see the changes on the map.
e. Note: - It may take some time to get published and to reflect on the map.
f. It is very easy to publish the changes; you just have to click on the 'Publish' button on the top-right corner of the map box studio.
g. Now you can see a dialog with a slider where you can see the styles you added.
h. Here you can either ‘Publish as new’ which will replace all the styles, or, use the ‘Publish’ button to add the styles you added in your draft.
6. Steps to add the updated style to our map
a. Once the style is published,click on the 'Share' tab on the top-right corner of the Mapbox Studio. Here you can see a dialog where you can find your 'Your style Url' and 'Your access token’.
b. Now update your style URL of the map.

Implementing OAuth in Custom FileMaker Application
This article is a continuation of FileMaker OAuth 2.0 Authentication. Here we will show you how OAuth works with some sample code and how it can be used to log on to Custom FileMaker application.
Steps Involved-
1. Configure FileMaker Server / Cloud
2. Create Application and configure it on provider’s account
3. Set up Groups or Accounts in FileMaker file
1. Configure FileMaker Server / Cloud
The first step to use OAuth is to enable External Authentication on FileMaker Server/Cloud.
Enabling EA on FileMaker Server: First, you need to login to Admin Console of FileMaker Server and then you can go to Database Server>>Security and in Client Authentication area select FileMaker and External Server Accounts and then enable the OAuth Providers.
Enabling EA on FileMaker Cloud: In this case, you need to login to Admin Console of FileMaker Cloud and then you can go to Configuration>> Client Authentication, and from there you can enable OAuth Identity Providers.
2. Create Application and configure it on provider’s account
Now that we have enabled OAuth Authentication next we have to Create OAuth Client ID Credentials on provider’s account.

In this article, we take a look and understand what is OAuth Authentication in FileMaker? With the release of FileMaker 16, users can login to a FileMaker database using OAuth 2.0. A feature that will ease the lives of FileMaker developers and their client’s lives as well.
What is Authentication, External Authentication, and OAuth Authentication?
Authentication
Authentication is the process of recognizing a user’s identity. In authentication an incoming request is matched with a set of identifying credentials. In FileMaker, Authentication is done by verifying a pair of Username and Password.
External Authentication
External Authentication means we are not using FileMaker’s authentication mechanism and using a third party to do the authentication. FileMaker accepts authentication with these external entities
· Windows Active Directory
· Apple Open Directory
· Local Groups/Accounts on FileMaker Server OS
· And now- New OAuth 2.0 Authentication
The advantages of using external authentication are-
· Account Management: You can continue to manage accounts with an external provider and can use existing credentials to authenticate FileMaker users. This makes account management simple.
· Authentication features: You can use other authentication features provided by authentication provider e.g. Two-Factor Authentication
OAuth Authentication
OAuth is an open protocol to allow secure authorization in a simple and standard method from web, mobile and desktop applications but without giving them the passwords. Companies such as Amazon, Google, Facebook, Microsoft and Twitter permit the users to login using their accounts with third-party applications or websites.
It allows access tokens to be issued to third-party clients by an authorization server, with the approval of the resource owner. The third party then uses the access token to access the protected resources hosted by the resource server.
OAuth Authentication in FileMaker
With the release of FileMaker 16, OAuth Authentication is available on FileMaker Server as an external authentication provider.
OAuth supported providers are
· Amazon
· Google
· Microsoft Azure
Requirements
· The database must be hosted on FileMaker Server 16 or higher
· Fully Qualified Domain with SSL Certificate Required
To use OAuth Authentication, we need to host the database on FileMaker Server 16 or higher which have a Fully Qualified Domain Name and SSL Certificate.

What’s new in FileMaker 16?
FileMaker 16 will change the way how custom apps are built. The new version provides ample scope for the professional developers to try out new features. It also offers a lot of educational content in order to help the developers.
So what’s new in FileMaker 16? Some of the most important features in this platform are:
Better support with iBeacons – FileMaker 16 automatically looks for known beacons and it can also be used to setup geofences. In the earlier version, one had to actively scan them.
Login via multiple platforms – Historically, FileMaker allowed single sign-on authentication through Windows or Mac OS X. Now it is possible to log in to FileMaker through Google, Amazon or Microsoft Azure. FileMaker 16 supports ‘OAuth’ which allows integration with external cloud authentication providers.
Support for JSON – FileMaker 16 allows accessing JSON in FileMaker. This will help in sharing of data from non – FileMaker sites. It solves the major problem of passing data from different sources to FileMaker. The new version is trying to move closer towards the objective of reaching out to a phase wherein it will be easily possible for FileMaker to connect with other services and vice versa.
Look and feel – The new version of FileMaker allows single-document interface model which liberates itself from the application frame. Usability –All document Windows are independent of one another hence they can be placed anywhere on the monitor. SQL Server on Linux!? – Meet SQL Server 2017
Over the last decade, DATA is the NEW OIL. While the increasing amount of digitization has led to data exploding exponentially, several other factors have also contributed. The cost of data storage has dropped substantially; enterprises are unwilling to delete any of their data. DATA is now a Corporate Asset and archived NOT deleted.
In the “Always On-Line” world all the systems accumulate huge amounts of data in real time. Analysts & experts want to analyze these mountains of data, popularly known as “Big Data”. The world today believes that in order to prosper and grow, they have to have the ability to “spot” emerging trends and patterns before they become mainstream.
This has led to a spectacular increase in the use of the Apache Hadoop Linux platform for Analytics. Data scientists across the world have been using this platform to manage and analyze “Big Data” since traditional SQL databases were not suitable in this environment. In the past, Microsoft provided interfaces to these technologies. To aid its own expansion and grab a market share in the emerging technologies Microsoft released R server for Hadoop & Linux and included R services starting with SQL 2016. Microsoft has introduced SQL Server 2017 RC1 which supports Linux. Interestingly Microsoft has chosen to support Red Hat Server & Desktop, Suse Linux & Ubuntu Linux flavors which cover most of the current installations. SQL server 2017 supports Linux and Active Directory services authentication for both Windows & Linux domain clients, allowing authentication of users across different platforms.
SQL server 2017 includes analytics using built in Python & R services! Microsoft has always focused on security. SQL server 2017 has TLS support so the data between SQL Server & clients can be always encrypted!

Agile Testing
Agile testing is a software testing process that follows the Agile methodology and the Scrum framework.
Agile methodology is a lightweight and effective development method. Scrum is a Framework that supports it. The main focus is on quick response to the customer requests or wish lists and an iterative method to application development and testing. Work is completed and reviewed in a set period of time which is called as ‘Sprint’. All iterations are of same duration. At the end of each iteration a working feature of the product is delivered to the customer.
How agile methodology in software development works:
1. All requirements are in the form of a feature list and is added to the Product Backlog. The feature list is described in the form of a user story.
2. The back log list is prioritized and each user story is estimated.
3. Based on the team size, sprint duration and complexity of the user story, a set of features is selected for each Sprint.
4. Individual tasks are distributed among developers involved in the sprint.
5. Development and Testing is carried out for all features selected in the sprint.
6. A daily scrum meeting is conducted by the scrum master whose job it is to keep the team focused on the goal. Active participation from each individual of the scrum team is required. The meeting agenda is restricted to what was done yesterday and what you plan to do today and whether there are any known obstacles or risks.
7. At the end of the sprint, a working feature of the product is delivered to the customer and immediate feedback from the customer is captured
