Did you ever think about how amuazu in canon reflects the ship (how it's received/seen by some people) in real life?

Azusa is afraid of Amuro's fangirls, going as far as disguising herself when going out with him.

Some of Amuro's fans don't like Azusa because they think she's 'simple' and 'plain'

Azusa is shown to think of herself as someone who shouldn't be seen with Amuro (see the image below).

Now why did she phrase it like that? (to me) Azusa's is insecure about Amuro. I think she's interested in him but thinks he's out of her league, he's older, handsome and popular. Thus she reacted the way she did to his "confession"(?) in chapter 1102, she thinks he's making fun of her.

What do you think? am I tripping? did Gosho do that on purpose?

In the preface of SDB JUSTICE Gosho lists amuazu along with other pairings (all canon) when talking about the Police Officer's romantic comedies.

he mentions Takagi and Sato, Yumi and Shukichi, Shiratori and Kobayashi-sensei, Chiba and Naeko, Megure and Midori, Amuro and Azusa.

(I think) it's important to note that amuazu's part is written like this: "Amuro and Azusa? (laughs)"

Her life’d be in danger!!! They’d get cold and he’d probably give her his coat and even huddle for warmth!!!! And she’d end up seeing a glimpse of his true self!!!!!
