#as a teenager who had a battle royale poster on their wall for years before the hunger games came out ima lowkey remain annoyed abt it 😂#largely because the western media treated it as this amazing gamechanger of an idea#when battle royale had been in existence as early as the 90s#if BR was superrrr old you could make a case of it simply being a lack of film literacy#but the movies came out in the early 2000s. so i’m pretty sure it was good old fashioned racism keeping them from giving credit where due#ok rant over lol
