𝑴𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒏 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 ; coming back to haunt you.
If somebody told Cordelia Callari that she was going to be a mother one day, she would have laughed in their face. She was the least maternal person she knew and found it funny that anyone would think she was capable of being a mother. She cared for other people and children, but to have one of her own just wasn’t in her plan. She had big plans of a big career and although she wasn’t always that way, she had still never envisioned her life with a child.
She was a reckless teen, shoplifting and causing chaos wherever she could. She was addicted to painkillers and couldn’t get away from a bad crowd. All of that started after the tragic and brutal attack on her mother. That attack was fatal and it put a massive strain on Delia’s life. Without her mother - the only parent who actually loved her - she was left to care for her father who was nothing but a no good alcoholic. Cleaning up his mess, keeping the house clean and doing her school work on time was hard enough to do but then she had to process the loss of her mother. It was all too much but thanks to her mother’s old colleague, Sadie Everett, she was able to get her life back on track.
Delia went into undercover work, just like her mother had. She had a dream to take down the Lopez crime family. The same family who took her mother from her. Delia worked hard and proved herself over and over again and when she finally got that chance to take down the Lopez family, she did it. What she wasn’t expecting was that she was going to fall in love with Brayden Lopez -- the son of the man who took her mother. Delia tried to fight against her feelings but found out that she loved him regardless. She knew she had a job to do though so she slept with him, got him to confess to everything and recorded the entire conversation. The next day, the Lopez crime family’s operation went bust for good and Delia got a nice promotion.
Now Captain of the Seattle Police Department, Delia was focused on her job. So focused that she failed to miss the changes in her body. She was pregnant and it was Brayden’s. She considered getting rid of the baby but she couldn’t go through with it in the end and so, that’s how Cordelia Callari became a mother. Arabella was the light of her life and Delia devoted her life to making sure that Arabella had the best upbringing. It had been 8 years since having her and now that she was here, Delia couldn’t imagine a life without her.
She had settled into the school routine rather easily and had always managed to get Arabella to school on time. Today was going to be no different and so the mother-daughter duo got ready to go and left the house on time. Delia ran a tight ship and pulled the car up outside the school. She said goodbye to her daughter, watched her walk inside the school and then drove away. What Delia didn’t notice was that Arabella had a new teacher, one that started today and it was someone that Delia knew well.
@quirkyeducator had been Delia’s best friend when they were kids but in Marisa’s late teens, she moved away with her family and Delia never saw her again. They said in contact for a bit but then their lives moved in opposite directions and all contact from both sides just stopped. It was hard losing Marisa but Delia was 48 now and barely thought about that time in her life. She hadn’t noticed Marisa today but she was Arabella’s new teacher and she started today. Delia went straight to work after dropping off her little girl and got to her desk. She switched the sound on her phone so she could be notified if the school needed her and then got right to work. Today was just a normal day, right?
