I'm gonna talk about Solaris and how I interpret their lore. Pure rambling to appease my goblin brain.

I hate that we were never given a deep dive for Solaris' lore or a clear explanation of what happened at the end of '06. The only thing we know is that blowing out the Flame of Hope rewrote the timeline to one where the Solaris Project never happened. But does that mean Solaris is dead, well I think not. Because Solaris, the Flame of Hope, Mephiles and Iblis aren't the same (but they are). Which is why Soleanna still has Solaris' iconography. Best way I can describe it is think of a tree; Solaris is the tree, the Flame of Hope a root, Mephiles/Iblis are a splintered byproduct. They have different labels but are from the same source.

Solaris is the actual God; simple, clear.

The Flame of Hope was given to the people of Soleanna from Solaris. It's an extension of the God, so that they may have a direct presence for the kingdom. The Flame is similar to a root; allowing Solaris to inspire and be amongst Soleannas' inhabitants, because the Flame acts as a feed back to the actual God.

Mephiles and Iblis were created from trying to separate Solaris' consciousness from the Flame, they're splinters from the root of Solaris. Once Mephiles rejoined with Iblis he was able to return to Solaris, a missing piece of consciousness, Infecting and influencing the God. Only for Mephiles to lose that influence after the battle with triple S. Where in that moment Solaris is able to send Elise and Sonic back in time to extinguish the Flame. Chopping off the would be diseased root (Mephiles.)

Which would explain why Solaris is still present in Soleanna. The timeline was altered, not to one where Solaris is erased, but to one where they never gifted the Flame of Hope to mortals.

Solaris is the one who has Mephiles locked the fuck away in Shadow Generations. They had to permanently ground their psychotic son for their own safety.

update: it's not exactly a copycat situation since 1) a few articles lied about erik denslow being a ceo when he's actually just the president of the company 2) erik denslow is still alive and expected to recover soon.
