Rare was the time when one such as Mephisto was attempted to be summoned. A lesser creature would have taken the bait, but he would not. Far better to arrive on his own accord and on his own personal time frame.      An action that was calculated to not only gain the upper hand, but to put forth the notion that he was in charge. For, which Mephisto was and would always be.

The audacity of the matter was beyond insulting, but there was a hand to play here. No impressive spectacle of Mephisto arriving - no, not at all. He would do something far less impressive and more heavy handed.      With a flick of Mephisto’s wrist, he sent out a fair portion of energy back towards the circle - one could even call it akin to a surge of energy, which was what he was going for. A blast of his own version of hellfire - enough to not just stop the circle, but also quite possibly burn the summoner and more specifically, burn down everything that was six feet around said area as well, the later if left unchecked.

It was his own way of saying ‘no’ and that he wasn’t going to answer it... from anyone.

Time and again, he repeated the same steps, when employing his favourite trick; he drew the summoning circle upon the floor in chalk, lit a few candles, mostly for the ambience. Had he the option this time, he would’ve utilised a sacrifice with a flourish, but due to the scarcity of available subjects, he refrained from doing so, opting instead to charge the spell required with a sample of his demonic blood instead.      Forming a fist with his hand, he let a few drops drip from between his fingers, into the heart of the circle itself, which began to glow with a pale luminescence. Murmuring a few words of power, he called out to the deep abyss; “You, down there in the darkness. It’s time we had a chinwag.”

He deliberately stopped short of mentioning why, wishing to play that particular card for later in the night. What mattered presently was getting the hell-lord bastard to heed his summons in the first place, but he did have a backup plan in case his current attempt flopped.

“Come on, I don’t ‘ave all bloody night.” Nor the magic potential to sustain the summoning circle for more than a short period of time.
