thank god, i honestly kinda hate that every game needs to become an open world with their follow-ups. just personally open worlds are really overwhelming to me and make games less fun! i really enjoy exploring each area as i get to it and it feels like it's so easy to miss stuff in open worlds. pokemon becoming open world ruined it for me ):

Apparently veilguard won't be open world but will be "highly curated and mission based" with this move being compared to the structure of mass effect 2. I haven't played mass effect because I'm not into sci-fi. Do you have any clue what this means?

I have played Mass Effect. I would assume it means that the design of the maps is designed in a way that they guide the player where to go, rather than an open world "here you are, explore" approach.

loyalty missions in mass effect (specifically, mass effect 2) are so funny to me, like you have to go on this side quest to process your trauma or else you’ll die in a swarm of alien bees ten hours from now.
