|| Hear You Me || Joe Burrow
Based off A Cinderella Story (with Hillary Duff)
A/N: I realize that this was a long time coming. Yes, I have been absent for a HOT minute. For that, I truly am sorry. But my absence will always bring new content :P My best friend has been begging for this scenario for a lonnnggggg time and I told her it would take time for me to come up with this. Just like they always say…good things take time ;)
Pairing Joe Burrow x reader
Trope: best friends to lovers
Warnings: Joe just being too stupid to see what was right in front of him all along! Angst and fluff! This was very much rushed as well and I am sorry for the time jumps :/
__________
The night air was turning colder but your body was warm. The water in the hot tub was just the perfect temperature and the jets were soothing your sore muscles. A glass of wine was perched in between your fingers and you gaze out to the city lights shining brightly. You may have been bias but Cincinnati did have the best skyline.
“Scoot over!” Your silence was broken as you see Joe coming through the sliding doors of the patio. He was wearing his swim shorts and the moment the cold air touched his skin he wrapped his large arms around his body. He was trying to keep as much heat trapped in his body as if he wasn’t about to sit in a hot tub.
You lightly giggle at his behavior and scoot over a little to allow him room to get in. He quickly steps in and sinks down slowly to allow the water to submerge him. He scoots in close to you and this relaxed sigh leaves his lips once he settles.
“I told you the hot tub would be worth it.” You say and thank your past self for purchasing it. You’ve wanted one for a long time for a lot of reasons. Joe said it would be a waste of money and he even offered to just buy you one so you’d shut up about it. You told him no because you wanted to earn that after all the hard work you put up with. Late hours at work was definitely worth every second for this moment.
“Debatable. You should have just let me buy it for you.” Joe closes his eyes and leans his head against the head rest. His body sinks even further to where his legs stretched across the tub.
“There’s no satisfaction in that.” You argue back.
“Whatever you say babe.” Joe mumbles and the pet name made you crane your neck towards him. That’s the third time he’s used that this week.
“What’s up with you and the word babe lately?” You put the air quotes around babe.
He shrugs his shoulders like it’s nothing. In all the 7 years of knowing Joe he’s never called you that. In fact, he’s only ever called you by your nickname he made for you. You two have had a long history of friendship. On either ends of the relationship you have dealt with a lot. A lot of breakups, drama, stress, and simple life hassles.
Within in the last year you began to have some subtle new feelings arise to the surface for him. Everyone knows those feelings and they all start so innocently. Of course, you love Joe. You two said it frequently but it never meant nothing more than the I care for you kinda I love you.
It wasn’t until you and him were placed in one of your college friends wedding together did you first feel it. You told yourself it was just the atmosphere from that night that made you think differently. You tried so hard to push the thought away. But it just kept coming back and it kept coming back in different forms.
In little segments or moments you slowly started to fall for your best friend. You didn’t really put it together until Joe did one thing for you. It was so simple but it’s what tipped the iceberg for you. He was there for you the moment you needed someone the most. And he saw that and knew what he had to do.
“Where did you just go? You just got really spaced out.” Joe asks and he was staring at you intently.
“Oh-I-“ you pause to come up with an excuse but nothing appeared. “Did you know this has a speaker?!” You excitedly stand and reach across Joe to get to the speaker that connects to your phone.
He grins at you as you fiddle with the volume and song selection. Your body was so close to his and deep inside of him he was losing it. Yet he knew he could never cross that thin line you two have between each other. He was terrified of losing you if he did.
You were trying to adjust the jets and your body began to slip from the position it was in. When your foot slipped was when you then fell onto Joe’s lap. Instantly your cheeks were red and not just that small pink tint, the fiery red tint. He caught you at your waist. His large hands held onto your bare sides and you’re not sure if you’d adjusted the temperature accidentally from the fall. Because the area was beginning to heat up.
His eyes meet yours as you still sat frozen in his lap. Neither of you were attempting to move from this position. Those blue eyes were glistening even more from the steam and city lights reflecting in them.
It all happened so fast. In the blink of an eye you were leaning in and he was pulling you closer to him. He places his hand up behind your neck and just like that he guides you towards his lips. The moment your lips collide is the moment everything started to align. It was an innocent kiss but a passionate one. It was as if all the energy between you two had been released.
That one kiss led to more kisses. The kisses became longer. You adjusted yourself to properly face him and straddled his thighs. He held on to you so tight. With each lingering kiss he pulls you in further and further. His hands were roaming your body. In all his years of knowing you he wondered what this would feel like. It was better than he could ever imagine. You were gasping for air and so was he. The steamy hot water multiplied everything in that moment.
“Joe.” You pull away for a moment to look him in the eyes again. It was like everything shifted inside of him. There was this unreadable look in those eyes now.
“Um I-“ He was at a lost for words and suddenly you were being lifted up off of him. He stood from his seat and climbed out of the hot tub. “I think I should go.” He announces and starts to dry off very quickly.
“Joe wait a second. We should talk about this.” You stood up and began to climb out as well. He was already through the doors that lead into the living room. You grab your towel and rush inside after him.
He was picking up his sweatshirt and throwing it over his torso in a rush. “Joe please we have to talk about this.” You step across the room to reach him but he was not listening to you.
“I shouldn’t have done that.” He says and those words stung so much.
“What do you mean ‘I’? We both made that decision.” You were trying to remain calm so he would calm down enough to talk about this.
“I shouldn’t have let it continue.” He slings his bag over his shoulder and turns away.
“So that’s it. After 7 years of this friendship you are going to turn your back on me and leave. I thought what we had was better than that.” Your eyes fill with tears and you swallow the lump in your throat. Is this a nightmare?
“I need some time to process this.” His words were short as he stood in front of you. You could see the way his tough guy ego was beginning to falter.
“Time?? Joe just talk to me. We can work this out. Please don’t leave like this.” You could hear the shakiness in your voice. Your hand reaches out for his and he pulls back away from you.
A small single tear spills over the edge and you frantically wipe it away. He takes long strides to your front door and you follow close behind him.
“Joe please.” You beg of him to acknowledge anything that just happened.
“I have to go. What just happened between us was a mistake. I need time.” Joe’s words left you concreted to the floor in a state of shock. The word mistake rang in your ear so loud.
There were no words that you could muster up to say to that. Before you knew it he was in his car and speeding down the road away from you.
—————-
A month has passed by since the kiss. Joe was now heavily drawn into his season and you were going through the motions everyday. He seemed to be doing alright without you. All his post conference interviews he seemed put together. Like nothing ever happened.
Joe hasn’t spoke to you since that night. You wanted to respect his wishes of needing time and space. But now you felt betrayed. You were missing your best friend terribly.
It was only a matter of time before you two would somehow cross paths again. Your friends all intertwined and parties did happen quite frequently. His teammates began to notice your absence rather quickly. When they questioned him about it he just brushed it off as if it was nothing. All of his closest teammates like Sam and Ja’Marr began to worry about him. He was not himself lately and it was beginning to show in practice and games.
“Joe what’s up with you and Y/n? Why hasn’t she been to our post game parties and even the wives and girlfriends at tailgates have been asking about her.” Sam comes up to Joe after practice.
Joe was sitting in front of his locker staring at his phone. He was looking at a picture of you from Halloween last year. You were decked out in a Star Wars Jedi costume. You stood in a stance with a lightsaber held in your hands as he snaps the photo. He remembers so much from that specific night.
That was the night he realized he was falling in love with you.
Joe looks up from his phone and quickly locks his screen to hide what he was doing. “What did you say?” He asks Sam to repeat himself.
“Alright that’s it. Talk to me man. You are not yourself lately. It’s starting to show on the field.” Sam cautiously begins to question Joe’s behavior.
Joe sighs and looks at Sam with this pleading look. “I messed up man.” Joe replies.
That’s when Sam pulled up a chair and sat there to listen to what Joe had to say. From the very beginning he told everything and he told his true feelings. Joe made the biggest mistake of his life walking out on you that night.
“Tonight we have our annual bonfire. One of the wives made sure that Y/n was going to be there. You need to talk to her tonight and apologize.” Sam gives the best advice he can. "Most importantly, you need to tell her how you really feel."
"Sam I can't. What if she doesn't feel the same way and it totally alters our relationship. I'd rather be in her life than not." Joe says.
"If you keep ignoring her like this, you will lose her for sure. The what if's are scary but what you did is not fair to her. She did nothing to deserve that. You need to try and fix this." Sam explains.
“It’s not going to be that easy. But I will try my best.” Joe replies.
After their talk they both go home and get ready for the bonfire that was held at Evan’s place. It was kinda ironic that Evan was the kicker and he was the one with the huge field to have this bonfire. A kicker and a field. It’s not really that ironic.
Joe was sitting by the large fire talking with his teammates. You were nowhere in site yet and Joe was beginning to think you wouldn’t show.
It took everything in you to get the courage to go. You parked your car out in front of the house and began walking towards the back entrance where the gate was. You saw all the girlfriends and wives sitting at the patio area talking and drinking a glass of pink lemonade. You knew it was spiked lemonade but that didn’t bother you one bit.
Everyone of them light up when they spot you coming through the gate. Each of them gives you a hug and asks where you’ve been. They missed you. It wasn’t uncommon for you to be the funny one in this mixed group. They love to hear your stories and you never fail to make them smile or laugh.
You sat with them for awhile catching up on the latest gossip. The wives in the group always seemed to know the dirtiest of drama. It was like something straight out of a telenovela.
“Y/n.” You hear that familiar voice say your name and you wanted to curse at yourself for the butterflies it caused. He stood across the patio area and stared at you. Joe was in awe of you and not seeing you in a month made all those feelings burst inside of him. He felt a head rush as you connect your eyes.
“Joe.” You stood from your chair and excused yourself from the ladies. You two step away out of ear shot from everyone else.
“I was beginning to think that you were not going to come.” Joe starts the conversation.
“The ladies really wanted to see me. I didn’t really want to let them down.” You reply. There was an uneasiness in your voice and you were building walls up to protect yourself.
“They do love to be around you.” He adds and you awkwardly look around the field. Joe could not do anything else but stare at you and he was doing his best to come up with the right words.
“I should probably get back to the group.” You begin to turn around until his hand reaches for your arm putting a halt to your movements.
“Wait. There is something I need to say.” You face him now and stood firm in your stance. “I just want you to know that I miss you and it’s been really hard without you this past month.” He continues to speak but there was an angry spark beginning to form inside of you.
“Is that all?” Your lips press together in a firm line.
“I’m sorry too. What I did was inexcusable.” He adds and you cross your arms in front of your chest.
“Joe you hurt me.” You say to really get your point across.
This frown forms on his face as he looks at you. “I appreciate the apology. I truly do. This entire month you didn’t once check on me. I know you said you needed your space but Joe that has never stopped you from caring. I thought I lost you.” You have to take a few deep breaths to hold back the tears. You’ve done your fair share of crying lately.
“I wish I could take back everything that I said that night. It was not fair to you. After everything we have been through I walked out on you. I was scared.” He confesses.
“Scared of what?” You question.
“I-“ He tries to find the right words for you. “I was just scared.” Is all he could say.
“Will you just tell me Joe? I’m just trying to understand what went wrong that night. You know as well as I do what that kiss meant.” Your eyes were deeply looking into his. Maybe they would have the answer you want to hear from him.
He stood there frozen in his stance now. Does he say those three words? No. His heart was so afraid of what it would do. He couldn’t do it.
“You know what? It’s not my place. I can’t wait around for you. It’s been a year of me hopelessly falling for you.” You huff out a deep sigh in annoyance. Joe’s eyes light up at the words you just spoke. Then the brick wall that protects his heart appeared so quickly.
“But waiting for you to realize what truly lies beneath the surface is like waiting for rain in the desert.” Joe couldn’t move. He was at a lost for words because everything that she was saying was true. He was to afraid of what could be instead of trying it. That was going to be his downfall.
You were standing up for yourself though. After this past month you had to do something right for you. You cared for Joe so much. That’s why you never let yourself start to heal from those words he said to you after the kiss. You wanted to keep him as close as you could. You blamed yourself for what had happened. A situation like this, it goes both ways. You knew what you had to do.
Time was something that you both needed and hopefully when things are better then you guys can repair what was broken. At least you hoped that. Joe was and will remain to be your best friend.
__________
Two weeks later you found yourself talking on the phone with Sam. He was begging you to come to the AFC Championship. Joe didn’t realize after that night of you walking away from him he lost his charm. His good luck charm to be exact.
Now his career was on the line and the Bengals were headed to the championship. A spot that would earn themselves a Super Bowl game. Joe needed all the support and help he could get tonight. All he could think about was you. He needed you back in his life.
Joe didn’t want to hurt you again though. Maybe that’s why he let you walk away. It didn’t take long for him to realize what mistake he made this time.
“Sam I don’t know. It’s been really hard for me. Even seeing him on tv is difficult. Going to the championship is way worse.” You confess to him as you sat on your couch anxiously chewing your nails.
“Please. He needs you. I know he doesn’t show it. But he needs you now more than ever. I left you your ticket with the box office. Please come. I have to get ready. I hope to see you here tonight.” Sam hangs up the phone and leaves you sitting there questioning everything.
*You can start playing Hear You Me if you wanna set the mood*
The walls you have built were surely crumbling now. You wanted to stay at home and watch rom coms all night until you cried yourself to sleep. Deep down inside of you you knew that no matter what feelings arose to the surface between you and Joe, you had to be his supporter first. He was your friend first and friends wouldn’t let each other down like that. The least you can do is show up. For one night.
With a great unsteady sigh you get up from the couch and begin to get ready. Hanging in your closet was one of Joe’s old jerseys he gave you. It was the middle of winter so you dressed in layers. A black turtle neck was worn underneath the jersey and you chose leggings with loose jeans over top to hopefully keep warm. You wore this jersey a lot. It symbolized many things for you two. It felt normal as you reach for the small gold necklace with the number 9 charm attached to it. Another gift Joe gave you with beautiful memories along with it.
Your heart was heavy and burning as you drove to the stadium. Sam even made sure you had your same parking spot that you preferred. All of those guys became your family and this just goes to show what they would do to make sure their friends are okay. The game just tipped off as you reached the box office. They immediately recognized you and slid the ticket with the pass through the window slot.
You walk through security and make your way down to the lower section in the front row right behind the bench. People noticed you and their faces lit up. You try to keep a soft smile on your face as you watch the game.
Joe hadn’t noticed you yet. You could see the frustration in his eyes and he was not playing like Joe Burrow. You felt nauseated watching the game unfold. People around you were chanting and most of all chanting his name.
You were trying so hard to keep everything together. This was much harder than you ever thought it could be. The man you so desperately love was a couple hundred feet away from you and you only wanted him. He was struggling because of the emotional toll you two have been through.
Something caught your eye quickly and you saw snow flakes begin to fall on to the field. The flakes turned into heavy flurries and filled the area quickly in this white blanket. The white snow complimented the black of their jerseys so well. The game was nearing the end and the score was tied. Sudden death was in play and you were falling apart piece by piece and second by second.
You catch eyes with Sam standing by the benches. There was this thankful look in his eyes from the realization. Joe still had no idea you were there. His body was physically and mentally exhausted as he huddled up with his teammates. This next play was detrimental for the Bengals.
Joe looks up and scans the crowd. He couldn’t help but wonder if you’d be here and the moment he saw you his heart beat skips. His eyes fill with those pesky tears and everything came crashing down at once for him. He allows his impulsive thoughts to take over and one foot led out in front of the other. He could hear his teammates yelling as he pulls his helmet off calling for a timeout.
Zac Taylor was yelling at his quarterback rather aggressively, but Joe was only focused on you. You were beginning to turn and leave so you could get out of this bitter cold snow. You couldn’t bare this place any longer.
“Y/n.” Joe yells your name. The name that rolled so perfectly off his lips. The one name that he wants to call after for the rest of his life. Fear be damned. You were all he ever needed in this world.
You turn around thinking that you were hallucinating. When you see Joe climbing the stadium wall and over the rail you locked up. He slides past a couple people and they all move out of the way to let him through. The stadium was louder than ever before. Joe grabs a hold of your sides and looks you straight in the eyes.
“Joe what are you doing?! You are going to get fined or something worst.” Your eyes were like golf balls as he just looks at you smiling.
“I’m saying something I should have said a long time ago but was the biggest chicken shit ever.” He wipes away the snow flurries that land on your pink cheeks.
“Im falling in love with you. I love you. I’m not scared anymore. I have to have you Y/n.” He confesses and you were in complete shock but a small smile formed on your face at his words.
There Joe stood in front of you, shoulder pads, cleats and sweaty
Joe cups your face and leans down to give you a kiss. The snow falls harder around you guys and the crowd around you was going in a frenzy. Both of you smile into the kiss and Joe lifts you up off the ground. Your arms swing around his neck to hold on to him.
“I’m sorry I waited for the…” he pauses for a second and looks around. “The snow.” He grins and you roll your eyes. There was happy tears spilling out of your eyes and you lock your lips with him again.
“I love you Joe Burrow.” You say in between kisses and he was whole again. You were right where you should be. With him. “Now get back out there and win this game!”
Joe gently sits you back down. He gives you another passionate kiss before rushing back to the field to finish what he started. His teammates were going to give him hell and back for his actions tonight. You could see it in their faces and the way they looked at each other. However, they were happy to see that smile on their quarterbacks face again.
AFC Champions sounded better now that Joe had his girl back. His best friend in the entire world was his.

Touch Her Again. I Dare You. || Joe Burrow
That moment when you get placed between Sam Hubbard and Ja’Marr Chase as a protection force so your boyfriend Joe can kick some ass.
Pairing: Joey Brrr x femreader!
TW: y’all it’s jealousy Joe back again to play, protective Joe, a few curse words, mentions of blood, a brief fight, a spicy kiss and I believe that’s all that is up my sleeve on this smutty Tuesday night...
Enjoy my loves! :)
••••••••••
You slipped into a new dress that fit you in all the right places. The second that you tried this on in the store, you knew right away it was going to turn heads. You needed a dress for a special New Years celebration that you were set to attend with your boyfriend Joe. A bunch of his teammates were invited, including their plus ones or significant others.
As you look over yourself in the mirror you couldn’t help but feel elevated in your confidence. “Babe.” There was a soft knock at the door and Joe slightly opens it to peak in.
“Oh good. Could you zip me up?” You ask and Joe fully enters the bathroom. His eyes roam every square inch of your body in the dress. He stood there in awe at the sight of you.
“Joe?” You snicker a little at his reaction. He steps forward and his hand fumbles around to find the zipper on the back of the dress. You felt a fingertip graze your bare skin and it sent shivers across your body. He delicately slides the zipper up to the top.
“Pardon me for staring so long. It’s just you look breathtaking in that dress.” Joe compliments you and it brings a soft blush to your cheeks.
“Thank you Joey.” You turn around to give him a kiss on his cheek. It gave you a moment to look at him in his all black attire. Black slacks, black button down, and a black suit jacket. The black hugged every muscle on his body and made him have this unbelievable masculine figure.
“Let’s get going before I change my mind about going to this and just stay here to enjoy every inch of you.” He turns you around and leans down to whisper in your ear. His hands were softly placed on your hips as he pushes his front against your backside.
His lips plant a kiss around the shell of your ear, then another down behind your ear, and a lingering one on your neck. You snatch his hand on your hip and turn around before he gets any further.
“Let’s go Mr. Burrow!” You say with that playful look in your eyes. Joe felt the flutter in his stomach from the way you just looked at him.
You guys gather up the rest of your stuff and meet in his car. He had put his black Cartier glasses when you look over at him as he pulls out of the garage. He drives through the backroads and you guys were in Cincinnati before you knew it. The sun was setting so the skyline was beginning to light up. Making that perfect city glow you loved to look at.
Joe pulls up to the building where the event was being held. He gets out to hand his keys to the valet driver and goes over to open your door. He holds his hand out and you get out with his help. A few people spotted Joe and called out his name. You both walk through the doors with your hands locked together.
The moment the doors of the elevator shut you could hear him sigh. You were in awe at how classy and sleek the building looked. The elevator was mirrored all around which made for a perfect photo-op.
“C’mere handsome and take a picture with me.” You say as you pull out your phone. He surprisingly didn’t fuss and just simply stepped in behind you. He looks at the phone while you angle the camera to where it slightly hides your and his face. Then he takes his out to snap a picture. You used him as a wall and rested your back against his front. Joe wraps his free hand around your waist. He towered over you with his 6’4 height.
The elevator doors open and it reveals a loud and busy floor. Gold streamers, balloons, and confetti was scattered every where. In one corner you can see a champagne fountain. And on the opposition is where the DJ was stationed with lights shooting out in every direction. A large disco ball hung from the ceiling and there was a lit up dance floor with people already busting out their best moves on it.
Surrounding the dance floor was tables and chairs. Along with a few curved booths. Looking straight out there was a patio area that had even more seating and tables and you guessed it, people.
Joe squeezes your hand and guides you behind him through the large crowd. He spots Sam standing at a table close to the bar and stops there first. You greet Sam with a smile and a soft hug. It was obvious you were slightly out of your comfort zone. You still were here to have a good time tonight.
“Hey can we get some drinks for the Mr and Mrs.” Sam holds his hand up to get the bartenders attention. He sees him and you look at Sam intensely from what he just said.
“Did you just say Mrs?” You ask Sam and there was a little smile on his lips.
“Close enough.” He shrugs his shoulders softly as he looks at you two. “By the way, you look very nice tonight.” He adds and takes a drink of his liquor of choice.
“I can say the same about you Mr. Hubbard.” You felt Joe put his arm around your waist in a slight jealous manner. He silently looks between the two of you. Joe lets you lean against his front so one he could hold you and two to let others know who you belong to.
The bartender comes by to get your orders and you engage in a conversation with Sam about his recent disaster of a blind date. The night was just beginning and you guys had a couple more hours till midnight.
As the night went on you were putting back a few drinks. The other wives and girlfriends had started to show and you were having your fun with them. Joe and a few of the men were gathered around a curved booth. A few were sitting while others, like Joe was standing and people watching.
Joe was only watching you. He felt like it was neglect to take his eyes off you. Especially when you started dancing on the floor with your friends. The way your dress would slide up a centimeter at a time with each sway of your hips was driving him mad. He hated the fact that other men were possibly looking at you right now.
You were all giggly and tipsy which made this happy feeling in your heart. While keeping eye contact you walk over to Joe who immediately puts his hands on your waist once your reach his frame. It made him feel so proud that he was the man you chose to come up to. You were all his.
“Having fun m’lady?” He asks you and that earns a couple chuckles from his friends. You snatch his Cartier’s from the collar of his button up which was already a few buttons loose.
You nod in response while placing the glasses over your eyes. “I want another drink.” Before he has a chance to react you walk out of his hold and head towards the bar. He shakes his head at your cute behavior.
You got the bartenders attention and she comes up to you with a smile. “Another one?” She had seen you the last few times and was making you the most delicious drinks you ever had. You nod your head excitedly. That’s when you notice you didn’t have your card with you. Joe was holding your things in his suit jacket pockets.
“Ope i forgot my card. I’ll be right back to pay you!” You inform the bartender and she nods her head. You turn around in a quick hurry to find Joe. The moment you face forward your body crashes into another’s. With a rough exhale at the impact you stumble back and felt unfamiliar hands grip your waist.
“Let me buy you that drink sweetheart.” A deep voice rings in your ears and a burning feeling sparked in your stomach. The nickname that irked you the most in this world and some sleaze bag just said it to you. You take the Cartiers off and slide them between the middle of the dress’s neckline.
“I’m good. I’ve got my own money.” You say and try to shake his hands off your waist. He places them right back on your body and that made you even more sick to your stomach.
“Come on. Don’t be a tease.” He replies.
“No.” You reply shortly and take your hands wrapping them around his wrists to push them off you. He wasn’t budging and you were starting to get scared.
“Get your fucking hands off of her right now before I break them off.” You hear Joe’s deep and protective voice shout through the music.
The guy grips even harder on your waist and it makes you whimper. Joe’s eyes turn dark at that sound and all he saw was red. His hands reach out to grab the collar of the guys shirt and steps his way between the two of you. You stumble back behind Joe.
“Y/n go find Sam and sit down with him. I’ll get your drink once I’m finished with this piece of shit.” You don’t hesitate and scurry through the crowd to find Sam.
When you find Sam he was sitting at the curved booth with Ja’Marr beside him. He looks up and can see the look of worry on your face. “Are you okay?” He stands up but you put your hand up to stop him.
“Can I sit with you for a second?” You ask Sam and he doesn’t hesitate to scoot over. He had a concerned look etched all across his face.
When you get situated between him and Ja’Marr you felt more protected for a moment. “What happened?!” Ja’Marr now looks at you and asks.
“I just wanted a drink and I was coming back to get my card from Joe and some guy grabbed me-“ The sound of your voice made both Sam and Ja’Marr go into protective brother mode.
“He did what? Where is this guy?” Sam’s tone was stern. You point towards the bar and that’s when you see Joe take a swing with his fist at the guys face.
Sam starts to get up but Ja’Marr reaches across you to hold him back. “Believe me, Joe’s got this.” He says with a smirk on his face. A crowd of people all gawk at the scene that was happening next to them. It wasn’t much of a fight since Joe practically knocked the guy out with one punch.
As the creepy guy lays in the floor. Joe straddles his body while slightly bending over and picks him up by the collar of his shirt again. “Touch her again. I dare you.” He says with the darkest tone of voice you had ever heard from him.
Two security guards come up to them and one lightly pulls on Joe’s arm to get him off the guy. Joe steps away and the security guards get the guy off the ground. You watch as they walk out with him and just like that everyone goes back to their business.
Joe takes his fingers and combs through his hair. You noticed that he had discarded his jacket on the table beside the booth. It looked as if his biceps were ready to shred his button up. You watch as he goes to the bar to get your drink and pay for it. This toothy smile lands on your face at your boyfriend and his behavior.
Joe turns around to see you sitting in between his two best friends. A sigh of relief comes out of his mouth at the sight. Your little body was guarded between the two guys he trusts the most. Joe knew the moment he saw you in that dress he was going to have to fight anyone who tried to touch you. He didn’t mind though. He takes it as a compliment that he’s got the hottest girlfriend on this planet.
“Did he cry?” Ja’Marr asks and you tried to keep a straight face but you couldn’t hold it back. A soft little laugh leaves your mouth and Joe just stares at you with a grin. He hands you your drink with a proud look in his eyes.
“Almost.” Joe replies and Ja’Marr and Sam both start laughing. You look at Joe’s hand and see his fists are still curled up. When you see the small scratch on his knuckle you immediately hop to your feet.
“Are you okay?” Joe asks you. He actually asks you if you’re the one that’s okay. You set down the drink on the table next to his jacket.
“I’m okay. Let me see your hand.” You grab his wrist gently and bring his fist up closer to exam it.
“I’m okay.” He says towards your concern.
“Come with me.” You command and pull him through the crowd to an open bathroom.
The bathroom was small but it would do for the time being. You find a wash cloth and run it under some warm water to clean off the blood. Joe takes your waist and lifts you up on the counter. He puts himself between your legs and out of instinct you wrap your legs around him.
There was a boyish smirk on his face that made you dizzy with excitement. “Let me clean this off before you get any ideas.” You say to him and take his hand away from one side.
You dab the cloth on his cut and make sure to clean it up. He was watching you very intently. It was hard for him to think straight with your pretty legs wrapped around him.
“I’m sorry Joe. I didn’t mean for that to happen or for you to get hurt.” You lightly mumble as you toss the cloth in the trash can.
“Look at me.” He commands. You do as he says and lock eyes with those blue orbs.
“Do not say sorry for being the prettiest woman here. Ever. The best part of being your boyfriend is fighting for you. The moment I saw you in this dress I could see your confidence from miles away. That is one of the sexiest thing to see. I will never be mad at you for dressing up and wanting to look good. I will fight whoever I have to without any hesitation.” Joe tells you and his face was inches away from yours.
Your cheeks were set on fire from his words. Hell, your entire body was set ablaze. “I love you.” You say to him.
“I love you pretty girl.” He hooks his arms slightly under your thighs to lift you up so you could level with him. Just as you lean in to kiss him you felt his hands move up to your ass to give it a squeeze.
A little grin forms across your face and it makes Joe slightly smile as you connect your lips together. He kisses you back with all the passion that was in his body at the moment. Your fingers go through his hair to deepen it even more. You two were making out so hard in that tiny little bathroom.
One of his hands slide under the bottom of your dress to feel your smooth skin. He expects to feel the outline of lace and is shocked to not feel a single thread. He disconnects your lips and rest his forehead against yours. His eyes look into yours once more.
“You’re not wearing panties are you?” He asks and this innocent look appears on your face. You lightly bite your lip. Joe softly shuts his eyes and lets a little groan out. He felt the rush of heat go down to his lower half in an instant.
“Is that a problem Mr. Burrow?” You innocently ask him. He swallows thickly to the point you see his Adams apple bob up and down.
“Yup. And I’m going to do something about it.” He replies and this burning desire erupts in your stomach.
You look at your watch to see the time. “30 minutes till the New Year. You better get to going with that something.” You tease.
“I only need about 5 of those minutes darling.” A shiver runs down your spine at his cockiness.
What better way to spend the New Year?

Oops! Wrong Jersey *Joe Burrow*
Description: Joe gets a little eager while you two are sneaking around after practice. You two try to stay under the radar, but almost get caught by more than one person.
Pairing: joe burrow x female reader
Warnings: a little bit of jealousy Joe, possessive Joe, there is a teeny tiny feature of choking but nothing out the wazoo, alludes to smuuutttt! ;)
A/n: this is totally based off his press conference he had this week of him wearing the wrong jersey. I will be adding Mr. King of the North to my masterlist!
Enjoy everyone!! :))
•••••••••••••••••••
This whole scenario started the moment you entered the practice field. You chose to make some cupcakes for Tee’s birthday and bring them up to the field for him to enjoy after practice. Of course, you made enough for everyone and truthfully that was a lot of cupcakes. Joe had helped you a little bit. He mostly would smear icing on your face and then try to lick it off. Which would then lead to the two of you making out and almost burning the cupcakes.
So when Joe spotted you walking in to one of the meeting rooms with all the cupcakes he couldn’t help but reminisce from last night. Practice had officially ended but he obviously had one thing on his mind. You.
Tee came up to you to give you the biggest hug and thank you for the cupcakes. He immediately dug into them. You were flattered by all the compliments and soon some of the other guys began to get a taste.
“I thought you were going to take these to his party later tonight.” Joe comes up behind you, placing his large hands firmly on your hips. His lips lightly place a kiss on your cheek. He looks at Tee who just rolled his eyes at Joe. It wasn’t uncommon for Joe to remind the boys that you belong to him.
“I was but he wanted me to bring my special dip instead. The one I made for preseason.” You answer him and watch as he reaches for a cupcake.
“Can I help you make it later?” He asks and you see that playful smirk appear on his face. You watch as he takes a bite of the cupcake and his eyes roll into the back of his head. Oh the things that boy did to you.
“Joe Burrow.” Your voice has that tone of warning in it. He continues eating the cupcake until it’s completely gone. You stare at him as he licks each of his fingers clean while only looking at you.
Instead of feeding into his playful antics you simply turn around to say a farewell to everyone. You knew you’d be seeing them in a couple of hours anyways. Joe follows hot on your trail as you began to walk down the hallway.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Joe questions you.
“Home.” You shortly reply.
“Why so soon?” He pouted and he ran to stand in front of you to get you to stop.
“I have a dip to make for one of my favorite Bengal’s player.” You respond with the most smug smirk plastered on your face. It could not resist playing with him. Sometimes he made it too easy for you.
Joe looks around the hallway to see if anyone was watching. He grabs ahold of your sides and practically shoved you through an open door. You take a look around the room before he slams the door shut.
“Is there a reason you just shoved me into the ice room?” You ask.
“Can you please repeat to me the last sentence you said? The one about making the dip.” He refers to that particular sentence that you knew would set him off.
If there was one thing about Joe it’s that he was very possessive. He was cocky in a way that never went too far. He didn’t get the nickname Joe Cool for nothing. However, when he found you and you two decided to date. Sharing was never an option. He especially didn’t like it when you would talk about favorites. Joe was a believer that he was your only favorite.
“You mean the one about making dip for one of my favorite Bengal’s player.” There was a certain innocence in your voice that just drove Joe up a wall.
“Need I remind you that you have only one favorite.” He starts walking towards you and you walked backwards to tease him a little more. That was until your back hit the wall and he traps you against it. A puff of air escaped you when he places his hands back on your hips and pushes you further against the concrete.
“I might need some help remembering.” You tilt your head up to properly look at him now. His nose and lips were still a little red from being outside in the cold weather. His hair was tossed in different directions from the rain and him having the helmet on.
Slowly, Joe takes his right hand up from your hips, to your waist, and through the valley of your breasts. He stops at the base of your neck where his fingertips lightly trace the start of your collarbone. The moment Joe wraps his incredibly large hand around your throat an excitement erupts in your chest. Your heart began to beat rapidly. Joe slides his knee between your legs to spread them apart. He presses his lower half against yours where you felt the hard bulge in his pants.
Your eyes flutter shut at the feeling. A small, barely audible moan slips from your mouth. “Joe.” You whisper his name as he moves only a small amount that still created a little friction you were craving.
He presses his ring finger and thumb directly against those pressure points that made you dizzy with pleasure. His index finger pushes under your jaw to tilt your head up.
“Look at me when you say my name.” Joe commands. Your eyes connect with his in obedience. “Good girl.” He adds.
Joe leans in and ever so softly presses a kiss to your jaw. You felt his hand that was on your hip slide under your shirt to where it touched your already hot skin. He begins to make a trail of kisses down your jaw and then to your neck. His mouth lingers in a spot and he sucks gently. Your sensitive skin was already bruising. He blows cold air over the new spot and you felt your knees buckle.
The moment Joe connects your lips with his it was like you two hadn’t touched each other in decades. Your hands automatically wrap around to the back of his neck to pull him closer if it was possible. He presses his body into yours to where there was no gap between you two now. When his thigh rubbed against your middle another moan escaped you. You push your fingers through his hair and tug slightly earning a small sigh from him.
The hand that was around your neck slides down until he cups your breast and massages. You began to squirm under his touch with only wanting more. He takes his lips away from yours and you pout at the loss of contact. He resumes back to your neck but quickly goes down to your chest.
“This is in my way.” Joe states and tugs on your thin shirt.
“Do something about it then.” You say a little annoyed with him stopping for that.
Joe takes both his hands and grabs the collar of your shirt. He pulls apart the material ripping it down the middle. A loud gasp escapes you at his ruthless actions.
“Joe!” You shout his name as the shredded shirt lands in the floor.
He covers your mouth with his hand to silence you. “Shh! Do you wanna get caught?” He asks.
You pull his hand off your lips to whisper. “No. But Joe I-“
The doorknob rattles and startles you both. Joe instinctively covers you with his body. “Joe are you in there?” You hear Ja’Marr behind the door.
“Yeah man. I’m just trying to ice.” Joe replies and he was looking at you. His hand found its way back over your mouth.
“Why is the door locked?” He asks him.
“I Uh don’t have any pants on. Didn’t want someone walking in on me.” He thinks of the best excuse he could.
“Well put your pants back on. You have a press conference.” Joe’s head just drops in defeat.
“Okay I’ll be right there.” Joe says. You both wait for about a minute and Joe puts his hand down.
“I don’t have another shirt!” You whisper shout at him. He looks around for something that you could wear. He luckily still had his practice jersey on so he pulls it over his head to hand it to you.
“Here.” He hands you his jersey and you take it from him sliding it on your body. It swallowed you whole but it at least covered you up. “We’ll finish this later.” He winks at you and opens the door letting you walk out first.
“I knew it.” Ja’Marr was standing next to the wall and he has the biggest smirk on his face. When he sees what you have on and the material in Joe’s hand his face turns up in disgust. “You two are disgusting.”
You and Joe both laugh at being caught. “I’ll meet you at home. Hurry up.” You tell Joe and he has a cute smile on his face. He leans down to plant a kiss on your lips lingering a little longer.
After that he runs back to the locker room to find his other jersey. He puts on the first one he sees near his locker and runs back out to where the conference was being held. Joe sat down and took in a deep breath from all the running.
“Did you change your number Joe?” One of the interviewers ask. Joe was confused and looks down at the jersey to see he did in fact pick up the wrong number.
This boyish grin lands on his face and he lets out a laugh. “Well I guess i put the wrong one on.” He responds.
A few of the guys were standing off to the side where only Joe could see them. Ja’Marr leans in to whisper something to them and they erupt into fits of laughter. Joe was smiling still with red cheeks from what really happened. Now all he could picture was you in his jersey.
Ja’Marr points to his head and Joe was not understanding at first. Until he realized how you always will tug at his hair. He had sex hair as some would call it.
Joe clears his throat and runs his fingers through his hair. He continues to get questions asked and he truly did try to pay attention. You were all he could think about and it only made him more antsy. He knew that he was going to show you who your only favorite truly was when he got home.
His phone buzzes in the chair in between his legs. No one else could see what he was looking at but him. He briefly looks down and sees your contact name with an image attached.
‘I’m waiting for you…’ he looks up casually answering a question and then looks back to see a glimpse of the picture. A picture of you in that jersey and there was nothing on underneath it.
Joe swallows thickly at the sight of you. His leg begins to bounce in anticipation. Needless to say he did not pay attention for the rest of the press conference.
