Whenever I see a queer invalidate another queer's relationship with god, I just get disappointed. "We need more complex queers!" You can't even handle religious queer people.

@acti-veg You're exactly right, and I'm tired of seeing a few bad actors taint the image of legitimate movements trying to raise their voice for the voiceless - and that includes both human and non-human creatures. All successful movements trying to abolish systems of oppression have had their bad actors and also had the Imperial regimes use those bad actors to launch smear campaigns against entire groups of people. We must engage critically with the crux of what veganism (and every other social justice movement) proposes, face our own biases and develop empathy for the trillions of sentient beings we share this planet with.
Speaking of food and ethics, one thing that really bothers me about animal rights activists is the laclk of class awareness. Ironic since they tend to be left leaning. I'm talking about things like insisting everyone can go vegan and demonising people working in slaughterhouses. In my experience, people working there are just normal people doing their job, many of them working class and immigrant workers. Capitalism is the main force behind exploitation of animals and most of us are the victims of it.
