Man meljay would have crazy potential for fics and other content if people liked it more.
Like they have such interesting backstories as foreigners with mothers who are so important to them yet so very different from each other
Plus there's that seven whole years of tension and buildup that we could get crazy content made about like ugh. The fics, guys, the fics.
Honestly just in general that seven years could foster insane amounts of content about any character if only we treated them the same way harry potter fans treated the marauders era
#yes this is me admitting that I'm too untalented to do it myself#arcane#arcane s2#jayce talis#mel medarda#meljay#goldenforge

"you don't owe anyone anything" You are a tar pit. Speak for yourself. I personally owe the cafe employees my dishes put away and my friends a listening ear and small scared insects a cup and a gentle trip outside. Hyperindividualism is a rancid infection borne of capitalism and willfully misinterpreted therapyspeak and I will defy it by continuing to be kind regardless of whether or not it benefits me personally

Mel Medarda being exiled from Noxus for being too idealistic (among other things) preventing Jayce from being exiled from Piltover because he was too idealistic. Mel Medarda, your bleeding heart of gold is astounding.

It’s so hard conversing with certain fans over Mel bc their entire story-line depends on Mel being a liar, manipulator, and bad person for Jayce.

To the certain fans, Viktor is hopelessly in love with Jayce but Jayce doesn’t know it yet. He likes Viktor too, but is enamored by Mel’s slutty, sexual tempting beauty and chooses her over Viktor even tho, deep down, he loves and wants Viktor more than Mel. (You’re typical jock and library girl in 2000s rom-com)
To them, Mel knows this. She is a master manipulator who sees Jayce as a toy. (You’re typical bad girl in 2000s rom-com that the Jock is dating).
Jayce foolishly thinks that she’s good and only wants hextech to help the poor and misfortunate (despite her not ever telling him that and despite Jayce wanting hextech to make Piltover greater so idek where that came from) but Viktor sees through her deceit, lies, and sexual advances (even tho they barley interact). He’s not easy to fool but Jayce is. Bc he’s a man and thinks with his dick. But he’s also a child so he doesn’t know anything and can’t think for himself.
To them, Mel and Viktor hate each other…well more Mel than Viktor. Mel hates him bc she can’t control him and knows Jayce actually loves Viktor grrrrr😡.
In the alternate universe, Jayce realizes that Viktor is his lover the whole time. He realized he was deceived by Mel and made a mistake choosing her over Viktor (the flame scene of Mel “turning into Viktor” while ignoring the detail of both of them having blacked out, empty eyes).
So, he goes back and is done with Mel. He calls her out on all her bs and breaks up with her and dies with his one true love.
Genuinely reading this over, it’s like a whole different show. I feel crazy bc I can’t even see where they’re getting this from. I can see why ppl ship them ofc. But to actually, 100%, believe that this is what happened in the show is just…umm…interesting 💀
But you can’t have any honest discussion bc if you make Mel seem like a morally grey character like everyone else…if you make it seem that she and Jayce have similar goals with hextech, that relationships commonly start out with what one can gain from the other, that Jayce is a grown man that makes his own decisions, that Jayce benefited from Mel, that Viktor and Mel had a grown-up disagreement over weapons, that Mel did care for Jayce and for Viktor, that Jayce wasn’t rly in his right mind at that argument bc of his trauma, then this take on the show crumbles.
Ps: I may have made a post like this before…idk but yeah.

It’s crazy bc Mel is this big villain bc she only wants hextech for the greatness it can provide for piltover, while innocent baby Jayce just wants it for the poor ppl of the undercity 🥺
even tho you have Jayce saying things like this.
“Councilor, the magic is real and no matter what happens here, it’s going to change our world. We should be the ones to lead it. Piltover the land of process, equality, and innovation.” S1ep3
And this…
“My father put hammers in the hands of the people, and they built this magnificent city. Imagine the wonders they could create if we put magic in their hands.” S1ep5
Like he clearly wants to make Piltover great too, but the fandom makes it look like their goals are SOOOOO different from each other

the more i think about sky young the more devastating of a character she becomes. like she had a future and she had hopes and dreams and her only crime was caring enough about a guy she grew up with that she couldn't watch him destroy himself. i just constantly wonder about the other people in her life, and what they'd been told happened to her. i guess they probably would've assumed, after the major battle, that she was definitely dead, but that was MONTHS after she'd died. she couldn't have been alone in her life; someone had to have gone looking for her. i wonder if someone still is.
viktor poured her ashes from the top of a building but what if she'd wanted to be spread across a beach? or the mountains? or back in zaun where she'd grown up? would viktor have known? would viktor have cared to know?

Things I will never get over in thirteen reasons why:
- How Clay was the only one crashing out over Hannah's tapes while the rest of them would've ignored them if he'd done nothing
- How the only friend Clay had who he wouldn't have been trauma bonded to (Jeff) died before he could've become a solace to Clay
- How Bryce wasn't even suspended from school and had the privilege of leaving in his own right
- How an officer pulled a gun on a student and would only have gotten repercussions if deemed fit while Clay took one of their guns and was slammed to the ground then taken to a psych ward
- The speed at which Zach nearly threw away his entire future
- How the only canon wlw character was quite literally insufferable (Courtney sybau)
- Zach almost raping the hooker he went to prom with
- How the last time Clay could remember feeling safe was when he was SEVEN OR EIGHT. As in TEN YEARS before he said it.
- How Mrs. Walker and Mrs. Baker both lost everything when their only crime was being a less than perfect parent (as if perfect parents exist)
- How the first two girls who Clay loved were both suicidal (and so was he)
- Sherri being the only one to take it upon herself to do the time for what she did to get on the tapes
- How it took four seasons for Clay to lose it and people were somehow surprised
- How Justin finally found something to live for and promptly died
- The Jensens losing the piece of their family they hadn't even realised they were missing
- Marcus.
- How everyone was more concerned about Clay having a gun than the fact that he put it to his own head
- The fact that no man consistently did right by Jessica except for her father
- How all of the people on Hannah's tapes could've just as easily been the reasons why Clay's mental health spiraled the way it did
- The fact that Ani treated Clay like something she could psychoanalyse, take apart, and fix, despite not knowing the extent of his mental issues (and acting as if she knew all)
- How Clay had been having nightmares since 4th grade
- How Winston was either genuinely fucking crazy or chronically touch starved (you're in love with Monty???? Where??? You didn't know him?? You fucked twice and he beat you up??) and either way he was in dire need of therapy
- The sheer number of injuries Monty left on Tyler
- Justin getting choked out by his stepdad
- How Clay literally went to jail
- How Tony consistently almost gave up his chance at a future for the sake of his friends and family
- How both Tony and Clay both felt like they needed to save everyone else and wouldn't let themselves be saved
H.M: the scene where Clay cut his thumb with glass on purpose. Like. Guys.
#13 reasons why#clay jensen#justin foley#jessica davis#most of these are about clay because he was done so so dirty#13rw#bryce walker#tony padilla#yes i know i am five years late#and this isn't what i usually yap about#but yeah
