First of all,

I have no problem with Patreon. You should be able to charge for your content if you want to. I know it’s frowned upon in the Sims Community but in the bigger world of creating it’s fine and people make careers outta this and someone else should be able too if that’s what they desire. BUT WHAT WE NOT GON DO is charge for black content and release non black content for free. Y’all can release white celebrities for free but release Black ones on Patreon? That’s a hell no. WHAT WE NOT GON DO is join The Black Simmer to do nothing but promote locs and braids that are going up on Patreon. You ain’t slick. And don’t invite your lil friends to the group to do it either. Y’all probably be akiking to each other saying black people will pay just because it’s braids and locs so target them. Some of y’all was just referring to twists and locs as box braids but you wanna put your shit on Patreon?! You don’t even know the proper terms for the culture you don’t belong to/wanna charge for. This also goes for the people who edit meshes. All those straight hair edits were free but your Afros are on Patreon. Hmm. Funny how it was so hard to create black hair until you realized Black people had money. And now let’s get onto the thieves. You steal black content from other games and put it on Patreon and think that’s okay?! I don’t wanna hear nothing about buying it from some site legally then converting it to Sims because some of y’all lying. I will download every single one of yalls stuff from PMBD and not feel one ounce of guilt because I’m gon consider one half of the content reparations and the other half it ain’t even yours so how Ima steal something from you when you ain’t the owner yourself.

I really want to reframe the way people talk about the kardashians and people like bhad babie tbh they don’t want to be black women they just know that parroting blackness allows them to be seen as rebellious and *sexually viable* while also attracting black men who enjoy the culture but don’t value black women. At most they want to look like their grandma is black but not one of them actually respects or is enamored with black women.

it’s really fascinating to see how white people react to a clear incident of heinous white sociopathy (such as this stealing bones incident). to them it’s just another example of bizarre people on tumblr being bizarre, and provides an instance of comedy, but for people of color it’s literally jarring to think about a white girl purchasing the skeleton of a girl of color and parading it around as a trinket. there’s literally a history of colonial regimes and slaveowners of parading around colonized and enslaved subjects, of colonizers and slaveowners keeping a proud body count of the number of indigenous people they’ve killed or anti-colonial rebels they’ve killed or slaves they’ve kidnapped. like….
