VICE LEGATE CAMPAIGN

Minister Melanie Valen has announced her campaign for Vice Legate at the Krytan Ministry's latest Open Session! To kick off the campaign, Minister Valen is hosting a dance for charity with all donations going towards the Heart of Kryta Foundation. There will be food and drink provided to all that attend. Come spend your evening in Shaemoor on the 15th!

A bouquet of roses and folded parchment would be found placed upon Addie’s desk for her to find. Below would be written in a delicate hand: Dear Addilynn,        

       One year today you came into my life and turned it up side down. I thought I knew what I wanted in life and I thought the journey for me was clear. I had a plan laid out and none of it included finding love or having a family.        The goddesses have blessed me with the unexpected and I still look upon you and the girls with amazement. You are an amazing woman who has more strength than even you can comprehend. If you are under the misconception that secretary Salvatti is befitting her station, perhaps you are not looking close enough. Minister Valen firmly needs to control her staff rather than allowing her to act as minister in her partial absence.

“Perhaps I find the ones to be best fitting their station as the ones with revolution upon their tongue, rather than warm, complacent chairs in the chambers.”

Totally late in seeing this but sharing anyways!

“Darling!” Viola exclaimed, hastening from the the foyer with a telegram tucked between her index and middle finger. Her skirt billowed as she cantered down the long, straight corridor and repeatedly called after her fiancé. She released a puff from her lips and stepped through the grand archway that led into the lofty athenaeum. 

Still, she received no response. 

“JAMES!” She yelled and personally heard her voice carry several metres and reverberate against the manor’s thick walls. From her periphery, Viola saw the nobleman waltz down the staircase with his spectacles clutched in hand. He looked at her expectantly and awaited for an appropriate explanation as to her erratic screaming.  

“Melanie has had her twins! Come, come — we have to depart this very instant! Where in the name of Lyssa is Mara? I need her to fetch me my emergency travel suitcase.”

In Character - Incompetency in the Chambers

It appears there are a few members of the ministry who fail to realize the duties of the secretary. The same also feel the need to express their judgement of my staff choices.  Lets be clear; Alessia Salvatti is more competent and knowledgeable of Krytan Law and the processes of the chambers than some who sit in minister seats now.  I and the office of Shaemoor stand behind Alessia’s determination and nothing she has done has been without my approval OR request.  It’s unfortunate that not all ministers have staff of such passion and drive. Perhaps you should look at YOUR staff choices and stop worrying about mine.

JUST A SPARK TO SET IT ABLAZE…

A ferocity echoes over the calculating demeanor of professor Melanie Valen--every action and word is done with precision. There is a perpetual fire burning in the depths of condescending baby blues. The professor stands like an unwavering presence, perfection defined in every mannerism. Perhaps due to family and upbringing Melanie Valen portrays the grace of a sophisticated noble lady yet beyond the veil of vindictive charm resides a woman of preferred seclusion, content with only the company of self and the projects tasked with.

Melanie is not above flaunting her own beauty, noble status or heritage if it means turning an outcome in her favor should she find it warranted. Her preference towards privacy and seclusion may stem from the desire to avoid judgement by those who sit on the similiar level of the social ladder. She has an aura of consistant professionalism, a lady poised with knowledge and happily willing to use said knowledge to put others in their place.

She prefers the portrayal of a heartless femme fatale, expressing love as nothing more than a weakness. Yet her actions, if watched closely may show otherwise, this of course being something she would never admit.

Portrays an outward sense of harsh judgement--preference of cold, selfish and calculating. Perhaps this preferred nature is a mask to scare away those who would try to wedge themselves too close. Those who would attempt to make a presence in her world where very few are privledged to gaze into.

For the individuals who deem it their right to look upon or step foot into her domain uninvited shall find themselves amidst the inferno of a woman scorned. Melanie is flawed by an explosive and merciless temper--the flame always lit and waiting for just the drop of combustable matter to rig an explosion.

CHARACTER NOTES:

Has a laboratory/studio in The Commons of Divinity's Reach. By some standards this location would be considered a dump, yet is kept that way on purpose. She keeps all her inventions, experiments and personal projects here. Considers her private domain and rarely shares it with anyone.

Her lab is rigged with traps as a way to stop entry of unwanted guests.

Melanie took in a skritt on one of her travels, named Tiktik brought him back to her lab and built him a leg. He resides at her lab as her assistant of sorts. He rarely leaves the confines of the lab and attempts to keep all the junk at least in some kind of order.

Tiktik and Melanie often bicker at each other, true to her nature she claims to have only brought him back for an experiment specimen but became too busy. Claims she doesn't know why he stayed.

Has an issue with others invading her space.

Her hands suffer from tremors as of recent (09/2017) roleplay event/scenes. She has been treating these tremors herself.

She is most often found wearing her white lab coat, even at social events if she gets her way.
