if you only see remus and sirius as skinny little toothpicks, james as super buff and muscular, and peter as fat, and that’s it, then you’re a coward who is failing to consider all the possibilities.

i headcanon james as filipino, so i’ve always pictured him having an islander body, shorter than average, slim in general but a bit curvy, with prominent calves and thighs. i feel like it helps detract from the fandom’s extreme urges to turn james into a caricature instead of a living breathing human like all the other marauders. come on guys he’s not built like kronk, even if you only view him as a kronk-like figure.

i’ve always viewed peter as a tiny, scrappy little thing who is so small that people assume that he can’t possibly do any damage to anybody in any way. i feel like people always make him fat in order to perpetuate those gross stereotypes about how fat people are always eating, or how they’re greedy, and i think it’s ridiculous. peter being the skinniest one. next.

it is so funny seeing all the drawings of sirius with like NO waist. idk why i just think it’s funny. i do think he’s on the slimmer side, but not at the toothpick level that the fandom insists upon. he has a bit of stomach chub. a soupçon of arm flab, if you will. idk why i like that better, i just feel like it makes him less of a caricature. i know super skinny people exist, i am a rather skinny person, but it just feels weird to describe sirius as this plastic barbie doll type of body that is practically unattainable in the real world.

i don’t get why people don’t more often headcanon remus as a little stocky! i feel like it adds to remus’ character so well if he’s like a gentle giant. not necessarily tall, but broad enough to do significant damage if he was not careful with himself. i feel like that would add so much more to his constant fear of accidentally hurting others. remus lupin being a rather large person who STILL manages to blend into the background. or maybe he doesn’t. maybe everyone always can notice him because of his size and he HATES it. but maybe he grows to love his body as he realizes that he has not just strength but warmth and groundedness.
