In 2019 I’ve decided I’m done checking up on people who don’t check up on me. I’m done with being the first to wish someone happy holidays or continually planning a flaked out hang out. I’m guilty in the past of all these things but I’ve done my best to be better and I’ve noticed now who recipcates.
Just because someone doesn’t show their stresses, anxiety, fears, troubles, and may not be going through something as difficult as you are, doesn’t mean they aren’t going through something difficult. Checking in on someone can make them feel cared about and loved. Checking in on someone reminds them they matter to you.
Take a moment to check on your friends and over time if you notice they never do the same it’s time to say goodbye.
pay close attention to who checks up on you and who doesn’t.
