Viral Intervention: Final Artifact
Title: The Eclipse vs. War Public Project
Materials: Paper, Double-sided Tape, Table, Cardboard, Toy Soldiers
For this project, we decided to set up everything up exactly how we had it when we went out in public. We put a table with the cardboard laying on top of it. We also had a bunch of the leftover flyers and soldiers that we decided to leave on the table as well. We printed out a very large poster to put on the wall so that our area looked cohesive. We also decided to paste little soldiers on the sides of the poster to make it seem like the two different characters has a long army behind them.

Viral Intervention: Final Documentation
Title: The Eclipse vs. War Public Project
Materials: Paper, Double-sided Tape, Table, Cardboard, Toy Soldiers, Paint
For this project, we came up with a different concept. We decided to create a cardboard poster that asks a question that relates to our sentence. Our sentence: “There’s panic in an eclipse and trauma in a war.” Our question: “Is there more panic in an eclipse or more trauma in a war?” We pasted the question onto the cardboard as well as painted a red line down the middle. The purpose is to get people to answer this question and then place a little toy soldier on the side they choose. We set up the cardboard on a table infront of a Publix. We also printed out flyers with our design. We stood there and also walked around to get as many responses as possible.

Title: The Eclipse vs. War Public Project
Materials: Canvas, Paint, Toy Soldiers, Double-sided Tape
For this project, we decided to create big art piece that is split into little canvas. These canvas will be painted on and represent our sentence: “There’s panic in an eclipse and trauma in a war.” To give it a more 3D effect, we will add a half circle foam for the moon and a full circle foam for the sun. We will also paste little toy soldiers at the bottom. Each group member will choice a canvas they want to create and then we put it out in public. This will lead to people staring or maybe even touching the little canvas.

Viral Interventions: Present-
I chose the word “Eclipse” from an nbcnews article I linked above.
The sentence we created with all our words was “There’s panic in an eclipse and trauma in a war.”
The video we created refers to the sentence as we show a paper with our sentence to everyone and specifically FIU employees. They are confused and almost humored. It brings upon some sort of emotion, which is exactly what our sentence is all about. An eclipse and war brings emotion out of people. In the sentence we specifically labeled an emotion onto every event, but ultimately emotion is uncontrolled at times.

Proposal
My proposal is based of our group sentence, “there’s panic in an eclipse and trauma in a war.” I created a drawing that consists of a gun and eclipse feeling those emotions. The eclipse has cartoonish sweating coming out of it which represents panic. The gun has blood trickling down on it which represents trauma. For the project, this drawing would be enlarged onto a poster that would be surely seen by many because of its scale and “popping out” features. It would be on any public object like a traffic pole. My reference were other drawings I found online.

#4 Assignment: Flag Race challenge
Title: Self Abstract Flower Flag
Medium/materials used: Fabric, shower curtain pole, hot glue, string
dimensions: 3 feet x 5 feet
For this assignment, I created a flag that has to do with a childhood painting I have hanging in my room. This painting is something I’ve been looking at every single I was little. It is a bunch of pink flowers. I decided to create an abstract piece of it on my flag. I used fabric from my last project. My partner and I decided to meet at the park for this race. We started at two separate points at the park. The middle point was a picnic table. I ended up winning. This assignment allowed me to showcase an abstract form of something dear to me while showcasing it publicly.

#3 Assignment: Iconic Places
Title: Park View
Medium/materials used: Camera, Park location
This assignment, I chose the go to a park that is personal to me and my family. We go to this park often because it’s so close to home. I made sure to catch the unique details and movement of the park. Some of these would include leaves and sidewalk dents. This allows the viewer to take in the little things rather than the whole view of it. I feel as that it is important to take some time and look at places differently. It allows for an eye opening and relaxing experience. Going to a park and looking around has always lets me breathe and shut out anything going on within my life. It’s a very peaceful and fulfilling environment, which is exactly what I wanted the viewers to feel.
