I don't think the effeminately-dressing, jewelry-wearing prettyboys on tiktok are predatory or problematic or whatever but I do believe they act and talk in nonsensical ways and were perhaps conjured by a sorcerer

Summary of the last 12 hours for the poor/blessed souls who slept through everything:
Castiel (A main Supernatural character) confess his love for Dean (Main Supernatural character). Castiel is then thrown into the Empty (aka a version of Hell aka Super Hell) right afterwards and dies. It is revealed in the script that Dean thinks of him as a friend. This is very funny because Supernatural has been going on for almost two decades with rampant queerbaiting and decides that immediately killing off the only main mlm character in their last season and sending them off to hell is a benevolent gift for their fans.
There is a rumour started by the New York Post that Valdimir Putin is resigning in the near future due to Parkinson's. This ties in with the Supernatural debacle because people started tweeting about it while complaining/rejoicing at the Gay Representation™. This then became a meme and spread the rumor further.
Georgia and Pennsylvania flipped blue (11/06/2020) and Joe Biden is currently in a good lead.
The Trump organization is suing multiple states to recount the ballots. The majority are overturned, but I think Nevada is recounting.
Pennsylvania says it might take a week or two to count all the ballots.
There was a famous artist on Twitter revealed to be roleplaying as Ted Bundy.
The band System of a Down releases music for the first time in 15 years.
BTS rapper Yoongi goes under surgery for a shoulder problem.
I find out what a brain melting feels like.

Quick reminder for EVERYONE on tumblr
The block button is there for a reason, and it’s easy to access for a reason. Someone sends you death threats? Block them. Someone’s blog is blatantly racist/lgbtqphobic/thinspo/pro pedophile/etc? Block them. Someone follows you and their blog looks sketchy? Block them. Someone in your notes make you feel a little uncomfortable? Block them. Someone keeps sending you annoying messages? Block them. You don’t have to justify why you block someone, and you don’t owe ANYONE an audience with you.
The follow/unfollow button is there for a reason, and easy to access for a reason. Been following forever but they’ve started flooding your dashboard with things you aren’t interested in? Unfollow! Been following for a while and realized they’re an asshole? Unfollow! Realized they haven’t posted anything in months? Unfollow! You’re allowed to follow and unfollow whoever you’d like, you don’t owe anyone your presence.
The anonymous ask feature is a privilege, not a right. You don’t NEED to have anons on, you don’t even need to have asks on! Had bad experiences with anons before? Turn them off! Got a creepy anon and want to be cautious? Turn them off! Just don’t even want them on? Turn them off! It’s your blog and you don’t owe anyone the ability to be anonymous on YOUR blog.
Filter as many tags as you want. Filter as few tags as you want. Are you in a state of mind where seeing current events is taking a toll? Filter the tag! Want to follow a blog for cute animals but really don’t Ike cats? Filter the tag! Have a trigger? Filter the tag! You aren’t required to see everything on your dash.
Morons on the internet aren’t worth your time. I know, you hear this a lot. I know, it’s shitty. But all they want is to get a rise out of you reacting so they can point and laugh and KEEP harassing you to get more reactions. Just block, report, move on. The best satisfaction you can get is knowing that they’re sitting there waiting for their “clever comment” to be reacted to. You don’t owe them anything.
You aren’t required to partake in every argument/discussion you see. Someone leave a stupid comment on your post trying to pick a fight? Ignore. Someone send you an ask trying to start discourse? Delete. See some chain thread about “reblog this to show you care about (xyz)”? You don’t have to reblog it. It’s okay. You don’t need to engage, you’re under no obligation to.
You aren’t required to answer every ask you get, either. Does it make you uncomfortable? Delete. Do you not know enough about what they’re asking? Delete. Do you just really not feel like answering that one? Delete it. You don’t need to answer every ask or message.
Don’t be scared to step away for a bit if you need to. Turn off asks and messages, queue things up if you really want, and just... step away. This isn’t your job, you don’t NEED to be here, and nothing bad will happen if you take some time for yourself. I promise. Put yourself first.

it's so funny seeing people on twitter pining after tumblr like "damn the tagging system was great" or "i miss customizing my own page" it's like that scene in movies where everyone eulogizes a character who's very much still alive and in the room

This Blog Is Unrepentantly Pro- AO3!
This blogger remembers when we didn’t have AO3.
This blogger remembers when we had to put disclaimers at the head of our fics and pray that someone didn’t take it into their heads to sue us for what we created.
This blogger remembers brilliant artists and writers getting decades of work obliterated on LJ because someone who wanted to tell people what they were allowed to create went running to someone who wanted a profit, and told them the artists and writers had been naughty.
This blogger remembers just how hard the creators of AO3 worked to build the thing we all seem to take for granted now.
This blogger watched friends dive into the creation process so heartily and determinedly that they all but disappeared from the writing/gaming/artistic side of their fandom for YEARS while they worked to make the archive happen.
This blogger remembers the sense of giddy wonder that there would possibly be LAWYERS involved, willing to defend our right to create these works, and not leave us hanging at the mercy of corporate legal teams.
This blogger is aware that she reads between twenty to fifty books’ worth of material every year on AO3, and is never REQUIRED to pay a penny for the privilege of getting access.
This blogger is aware that she will not ever see advertisements on AO3, and that her personal data and reading preferences won’t be sold to advertisers in order to raise the money that AO3 needs to pay for the services they provide.
This blogger is aware that AO3 is, and has always been, a labor of love; by fans, for fans, and not for profiting off fans – and this is what makes it unique in the whole of the media universe.
This blogger has NEVER taken AO3 for granted, and has ALWAYS been damned glad to have access to it.  Even in years when this blogger didn’t have the means to support it financially.

Just a heads up right now: on the day when Trump dies, I’m going to be extremely tasteless about it. It’s going to get ugly. You are going to see a side of me I am not proud of. I don’t want any call-outs in my inbox, I’m stating right now that lines will be crossed.

Dividing up eras of tumblr
It just occurred to me that I kind of arbitrarily started referring to “first age” “second age” and “third age” tumblr one day because I realized during a discord conversation that it really can be divided up very effectively between a couple major events that changed the fabric of the site’s culture almost overnight, but nobody but me ever refers to them that way, so by way of explanation:
First Age: everything before Dashcon. Art communities were still largely thriving on the internet and social media still mostly existed out from under corporate monopolies, and people were just wildly guessing about how to use it. We were in the last hurrah of the internet wild west and lolcats were still a thing. Tumblr was just a fun and quirky place, we were blissfully writing unironic posts about tumblr university and fandom vs hipster and the “I like your shoelaces” thing, Hank Green wrote a goddamn song about tumblr, we were all like Adam and Eve dwelling in Eden unaware of their sin. Potterheads grab your wands.
Second Age: post-Dashcon, but pre-Purge. We have all eaten the fruit of knowledge and there is no going back. There are no more secret code or tumblr university posts because everyone knows firsthand how badly that would go. Fandom culture is forever changed. We are now aware that we live in a hellish cringetopia but have absolutely no plans to leave, because by now a combination of monopolies and a sneaky rise in purity culture has the internet by the throat (but not in a kinky way, that would scare off advertisers) so there aren’t a lot of better options, and at least our relatives can’t find us here. A lot of artists now have their primary presence on tumblr. The lax policies regarding nsfw and controversial content mean it’s a good space for queer creators and sex workers despite the many shortcomings we’re now aware of. The porn bot plague really kicks into full gear to the point that every time our follower counts go up we’re ready with the block/spam button like the uncles from Secondhand Lions picking off traveling salesmen. The drama starts to get really fucking weird, with classics such as the human pet guy and the bone-stealing witch.
Third Age: post-Purge. After changing corporate hands a few times, the drive to make the internet safe for our Good Christian Advertisers and hypothetical children has finally reached us, and brings with it TERFs, purity culture, and the Porn Ban, which was allegedly a solution to the porn bots except that it clearly wasn’t at all. The large community of sex workers and artists that was keeping tumblr afloat as anything resembling a viable social media site have made a mass exodus and a lot of the rest of the userbase followed them, mostly to twitter or a few doomed attempts at tumblr copycats. Tumblr is now a mad max clown car full of people too stubborn to pack up and leave for a functional website. It’s a post-apocalyptic wasteland whose only remaining merit is that even without the ability to post porn we’ve managed to make ourselves such a complete anathema to advertisers that we’re mostly just left alone. We’re all just tired. Some people still run art blogs but nobody outside of tumblr ever sees them.  Literally all we have going for us is that we’re not twitter and we have +5 resistance to capitalism. And Xkit.
