it sucks to really love hardcore but feel completely unwelcome and/or targeted in those spaces. like. i love the music and i wanna be there. i always start the night happily. and then there’s some tiny mothetfucker literally stalking and preying thru the pit, chest held up like a god dammed lion. literally there will be people (and obvi i know the point of hardcore…. obvi a leftist POV HOWEVER……….. too often a leftist white male space) so these tucking tiny little dudes will feel all big and tough and look at women and dub them posers and therefore violence must happen. and it’s like. if somebody isn’t in the pit dude leave them the fuck out of it. everybody who enters the pit expects to get hurt but why did i just get a fucking ELBOW TO THE FUVKIKG THROAT. at a fucking Palestine benefit. FUCK YOU!!! you want people at their shows?! fucking make a place for women. cuz overwhelmingly all male bands and an all male pit is NOT revolution. it’s just violence. and it’s ridiculous that a very fucking good cause is getting stifled by people fucking targeting the crowd rather than the pit. as much as i value tha DANCE aspect … hahahah yeah i love that part i open a pit whenever it’s not hardcore shows just in a more jive-y way, i just don’t know if it has to be like this. so clique-y and by definition violent towards women. anyways that’s my takeaway from the hardcore show i went to tonight. and my friend was playing and i was so happy to see them play but then i get elbowed in the fuckin throat and now i’m talking fucked up and im gonna bruise and fuck man
